Best experience I’ve ever had with a shop. They guys are super welcoming and very fair on price. I brought my ram in to get the transmission done and he did an excellent job. The truck runs and drives better than ever. You won’t find anyone better to do your transmission I very much recommend this shop!

I've gotten two transmissions rebuilt by Lakeside. Both jobs were quick and the service was fantastic. Please, for the love of God, don't go to a dealership. If you need transmission work, go here. They're fair, friendly, and knowledgeable. You won't pay unnecessary costs and it'll be done correctly. Highly recommend.

I just want to say, I had the BEST experience at lakeside transmission. Having your transmission go out is never fun, but Ed and his team did a GREAT job making sure I was kept updated with the process. My car is driving like new, and with the holidays he got it done in a very timely manner. Price was more than $2K less than everywhere else I quoted. As much as I hope nobody’s transmission goes out… if it does, GO SEE ED!

Jaque and Ed took great care of my truck. I called and Jaque got me in right away, drove it, and diagnosed it quickly. Even though the repair was expensive, it was in great hands here. Ed kept me updated along the way and Jaque made sure the repairs would be top notch to tow our camper. They both pride themselves on their work and honesty. 35+years of experience and almost 5 stars in customer reviews, you can't go wrong bringing your vehicle here.

This transmission place is the best! I wish google reviews were around when I brought my Honda Pilot there quite a few years ago because I definitely was so impressed by this companies honesty. I had a 2003 Honda Pilot that had its transmission light pop on I was scared and pulled over, turned off the engine, and sat for a few minutes, and started it back up, and the light was off . A few days later it popped on again, so I pulled over and did the same thing again, started it again and the light was off, I was afraid of causing damage my trans so I drove it to Lakeside Transmission on Groesbeck and he got right on it and plugged it up to a tester and said “no codes are coming up”, he took it for a ride and told me that it shifts good, and told me to return if the light pops up again, and did not charge me for anything! A few days later the light popped on again so drove it right to them, he plugged in his tester in and still no codes, he told me that he feels nothing is wrong with my transmission, and told me that he will contact a friend who works for Honda and will get back to me, 2 hours later he did, he told me that his friend said that trans light light popping on for the Honda Pilot is a common, and it would be a sensor that needs to be replaced… it was a 25.00 part. I swear I am so grateful for this company, they could of taken my money if they weren’t a honest company. I have taken all of my vehicles to them for trans fluid changes, and if I ever have a trans problem I will 100% take my vehicle to them, I am so confident in this company that I also have recommended them to family, friends and neighbors over the years. Thank you Lakeside Transmission for your honesty I will never forget it!

Highly recommended ! My 2016 Silverado suddenly started shifting weird so after some online research I went to the shop where Jaque spent time showing me in-shop examples of the all too common problems and fixes with my truck . Barely made it through test ride which included Jaque's plug-in scanner showing what was going wrong inside my trans as we drove. It's Christmas,these guys have a garage full of work and more waiting outside but they still took mine in and did a great job . Went back for a free check-up afterwords and they will be doing future fluid changes. Glad I found them,thanks Jaque and Ed .

This guy here is all about helping you. Just called to get a price and 28 minutes later he was very helpful and gave me some options. I will probably wait for him to have time to fix my transmission.

The transmission specialist was extremely helpful and informative. I had questions on my 2500 Silverado transmission and they helped me better understand the issues. He was on the phone with me for 45 minutes helping me understand and get the best deal even if it wasn't with them. Thank you for your help!

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra that experienced a loss of third gear. I took it to Lakeside transmission for a diagnosis and repair. I couldn’t be more pleased that I did. Between the team of Ed and Jacques, my truck is now fixed. Jacques is extremely knowledgeable. Through extensive conversations of my use and needs of my truck, it’s rebuilt better than new . In a few words honesty, pride, and follows through for the best results for their customers.

outstanding service! the time these guys take with the customer and attention to detail is unmatched I took my 1984 chysler 5th ave to them with a totally destroyed trans an blowen rear end and when I got it back omg what a difference! if you need trans work done do yourself a favor nad save a headache call these guys up

Strongly recommend this place on vehicle repairs of transmissions in differential as I am a repeat customer! Irefer them to friends and family quite often. Always treated like family here and the owner is the builder. So on that note you know you're getting more than what you paid for thank you lakeside transmission!

A very very good place to get your transmission fixed or at the least, to get your problem figured out. They are extremely reasonable and extremely trustworthy. They truly want to help you get your car rolling on the road again. Their respect, honesty, and work ethnics are all absolutely amazing. Because of this they get my repeating business and if I know anyone having a transmission problem I'll send them on over to lakeside transmission.

Hands down the best transmission shop around!
These guys know their stuff. My son brought his 2012 Chevy Impala in and Ed was able to diagnose the problem his car was having. Turns out it wasn't an issue with the trans but an electrical issue that we are able to fix on our own but thankfully Ed was able to find the problem.
I used this shop back in 2009 when my 1998 GMC 1500 needed a trans rebuild and these guys fixed it up better than new. I've been a customer ever since. Do not use the quick oil change places to flush out your trans, go to Lakeside and have them do the maintenance the correct way. They have all of the knowledge of what filter and type of oil your trans will need to keep it running smooth.

I've been taking my vehicles to Lakeside for almost 13 years now, and for good reason. Quality mechanics who take pride in their work, do it right the first time, and make sure the customer is happy are hard to come by. This and many other variables is why I don't take my vehicle anywhere else but here. Throughout the years I have become good friends with both Jacques and Ed who are masters at what they do. When I have come in to visit, just observing their work and attention to detail while working on other customer's cars and trucks spoke volumes of just how much pride they take in doing the job right. Myself and others in the area are very fortunate to have such a place to take our vehicles to. 10/10 and thank you guys for everything that you've done throughout the years up to this point and beyond!

Ok, this shop just saved me big time! Called and was talking to Jacques (owner). I have an F150 with a few major issues and wanted to get the trans rebuilt. The owner was very honest and by the time I was done talking with him, he saved me from having to rebuild the trans and the motor. He talked me through why I shouldn't and gave me some excellent advice. I would highly recommend going here to get your car worked on. They are very knowledgeable and honest!

You won't find a more honest or fairly priced transmission shop in the metro Detroit area. Jaques really knows transmissions!!! He fully rebuilt and reinforced my trans 3 years ago and it has been great. I highly recommend him if you have any issues with your Trans!
