George's Shoes & Repair

I haven’t needed or had any reason to think of shoe repair since I was a kid. (Many years ago.). I only knew of George’s.

A few weeks ago I tried fixing my favorite boots (it didn’t go as well asI hoped ).The 1 and only place I knew of was George’s. While searching I was shocked to several other shoe repair shops. In my world, I thought George’s would still be the only shop. Well, because of the whole, ‘old dog & new tricks’ trend. I called George’s (still very friendly & professional), I explained my quandary and as I expected, the response was, bring them in.

The top of the boots landed between my ankle and knee. Each boot has 6 buckles (for cute purposes) and the strap of the buckle kept curling up (not so cute). So I wanted the straps tacked down. And the tongue was the same length as the bot was tall and they kept sliding so far to the side it usually ended up near the back. So I wanted the tongues tacked in place.

They quoted me a price which was more than I had hoped. But, the boots were so inexpensive, I kept waiting for the police to stop me. George’s told me 2 weeks, maybe sooner, but plan on 2 weeks. They called within 3 days, told me they were ready. When I saw the GREAT quality work, I was more happy than surprised. The workmanship was something I haven’t seen since I was a kid (long time ago). I am thrilled and I love my boots. Thank you, thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am so glad I found this shoe repair shop!
I messed up a pair of my favorite red bottom shoes, and I've never been to a shoe repair shop in life and didn't know what to expect.
When I stopped in, the owner was so nice and welcoming and super helpful and I really appreciated that! It was nice to have a relatable conversation that jusy made you feel like you were friends.
Anyways, I dropped off my louboutins on a Friday, and they were done by the following just in time for a wedding I had.
And LET ME TELL YOU, they looked BRAND NEW, I was in awe!!! They also added a protective layer as well which blends right in with the beautiful red, and now I don't have to walk like I'm on ice skates.
I can't recommend this place enough for your shoe needs, even your favorite pairs 😉

Excellent customer service. They were so thorough in fixing my shoes, they noticed something I didn't even know was wrong! Completed the fix in a timely manner and shipped them back very quickly. Highly recommend!

I'm truly amazed how they took my 4 year old worn and broken black dress shoes and made them better than new. Then, on top of all that, I don't have to get a new pair that will probably hurt my feet for a month while I break them in be mine. Better result, cost less than a new pair, and is earth friendly (not throwing shoes away). I wish I knew this possibility sooner.

AMAZINGLY talented leather artists! My purse was damaged in a robbery. They were able to match the leather of the purse PERFECTLY and reinforced the attachments very strongly. I also bought some Haflingers as well as some very well-priced zippered leather pouches. Extremely impressed with the expert service, efficiency and reasonable costs.

I have used George's for a few things. Most recently was a repair of my Xena steel-toe dress shoes. I had these shoes for over 5 years and the heal was worn down and the rubber sole was missing in places. For the price, this was the best decision. Just received my shoes back and they look amazing!

Needed an additional hole put into a belt. Searched for repair shop and George's came up. The great reviews were spot on. Friendly staff asked what I needed, put the extra notch in within minutes, and then let me know that there wasn't a charge. If not already a great experience, the shop smells like fine leather. We will be back for shoe repair or other related needs!

Wonderful experience going to this place. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. My heel tips needed to be replaced on multiple shoes and they replaced them perfectly with a great turnaround time. I'll definitely be going back for future repairs!

I also wanted to add that they respond to email inquiries quickly too. I asked for a quote for the repairs and it was spot on (keep in mind my repair was rather simple and straightforward). Their prices for repairs are very reasonable and if it means my shoes longevity will be increased, it is definitely worth the investment.

I am absolutely blown away by the resole they did on a pair of my western boots. I wanted to ditch the original all leather sole and give the boots a more rugged look and they nailed it. Even my fiancés jaw dropped when she saw these (wasn’t a fan of the boots prior to the resole, now she loves them). Super friendly staff and amazing craftsmanship. These guys make me look forward to my next boot repair. I cannot recommend them enough, they will far exceed your expectations.

Brought in a pair of Birkenstocks that needed a new cork footbed. They are now in better shape than when I first bought them from Birkenstock. Great friendly service and smooth process.

my boots, bought over 20 years ago in Tokyo, finally needed repair. Two Red Wing dealers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area recommended me to George's Shoe & Repair. It took about a week at a cost of about $120 for the repairs and new soles and my boots are good again for maybe the next 20 years!

My dad passed away and I had a pair of nice dress shoes he had given me that I really wanted to wear at his funeral. They were in pretty rough shape and needed new soles and a good cleaning. I brought them to George's on short notice and Luke was incredibly sensitive to the situation, and even put a rush on the order. They were able to complete the work in 2-days and did a FANTASTIC job on the shoes. They even did a custom dye job and stamped his initials & birth-burial date on the bottom, free of charge. These shoes will forever be special to me. Pictures do not do it justice, but here are a few of the finished product. I only wish I had before pictures to show how they looked when I took them in. The transformation was astounding! Luke, you've made me a customer for life and I appreciate all that you did. I can not say THANK YOU enough.

My nordic ski boot zipper broke. I contacted George's and sent a photo. They responded on a Sunday to say they could repair the zipper for half the cost of a competitor. I had both boots repaired and they did a great job in about a week. This included free shipping from my house and back again! I can't say enough good things about this small business.

I just had a near perfect business transaction here. My beloved pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile LTDs was in sad shape. I brought them in to have the toe caps stitching repaired, new JR soles, heels and welts put on.

Not only do they look IMO better than new. The crew was just COOL!

I sent my hiking boots to George's for some repair work and resoling. I bought the boots 49 years ago when I was a geology student in England. After all that time they were in pretty sorry shape. George's have fixed them up really nicely, and I hope that I will enjoy them for another 49 years, although there is a chance that they may outlast me. For the cost of the repairs I could have bought a brand new pair of good hiking boots that would probably be better than the old ones I have. But the nostalgia value of my boots is priceless to me. I am glad that in our throw-away culture there are still places like George's that can put new life back into my old boots, and also reduce my environmental footprint.

They stretched the calves on a nice pair of boots, keeping the integrity. Very pleased with the end product and the customer service.
