Smokin Hottdish

This is a place that is hard to find. And a must find. The duo that work here are amazing. Yet the food is better. Went with my wife today and had the crab cake po boy. Wife had a chicken wrap. Also ordered tator tots with dill pickle seasoning with a side of ranch. Everything was spot on. The po boy melted in my mouth as I ate it. The chipotle sauce on my wife’s wrap on so so good. Will try and make this a regular stop when we are in town. Want to try more of the seasonings they have to offer. Another couple also was there at the same time for the first time and were blown away.

Recommend this lunch gem. Server was friendly and very polite. I ordered two specials to go, which consisted of cajun fish on grits and side of shrimp, for myself and my son. Very tasty and will definitely be back! I like big flavors and the fish was both that and delicate. Portions were generous and we had enough leftovers for dinner. Also ordered a side of fried okra and received WAY more than I expected for the price.

Side note: I'm MN raised, so no clue how grits are "supposed" to be. My sister-in-law is from Mississippi and I crave her shrimp and grits. It can be hit or miss here at restaurants in MN and usually they're thick, congealed and lumpy... but I think I've found my place!

This must be a restaurant/catering business inside a business building as the name of the restaurant isn't on the outside of the building, but if you go in the Garden Door entrance you'll find yourself in a very pleasant plant filled space, then walk through to the restaurant counter. The food was AMAZING, prices were great, and the owners were super friendly - we will totally come back! There is a food court type setup of tables nearby but there is also a pretty deck looking out over the woods so we took our food and ate on the patio. It was lovely!

Smokin Hottdish has been my go-to choice for lunch for several years. The food is consistently delicious and generously portioned. The owners are incredibly kind people, and it shines through in their service and their food. I will tell my grandchildren about the Smokin Hottdish Philly Cheesesteak.

Delicious, Fabulous, Magnificent, Outstanding can’t say enough positive things about Smokin Hottdish! Picked up the Easter dinner special dinner today, Advertised as feeding 8-10, however my family of 5 will get 3 meals with seconds. We loved everything, the brisket and glazed ham was amazing, the Mac & cheese was over the top, the dirty rice was a game changer, the fire cracker green beans- let’s just say my youngest daughter said Mine to the entire pan, and those honey butter biscuits finger licking!

I was blown away by the hospitality of the Davis family. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak, a ham panini, some fried ravioli, fried shrimp, and a grilled chicken wrap. Everything was jam packed with flavor. The portion sizes here are outrageous! If you come here, come hungry. You will be well fed.

Everyone in my family enjoyed the food (the steak Philly being the crowd favorite). Tip: order ahead of time. There is a lot of tender love and care behind the prep for many of the food items. This isn’t fast food, it’s good food! I hope to stop in again.

The best food I've had since moving to Minnesota hands down. Dale and Christene are the real deal in the kitchen. Me and my wife thank yall for the hospitality. Being from Alabama yall cooking took us back home. I will bring all my family and friends to eat here when they come to visit. Thank you again!

Incredible experience here! Picked up lunch for coworkers and myself- called in our order and the girl answering phones took it like a pro, got everything right the first time and ordering went smooth as could be. Arrived a bit early and got to chatting with a lady at the front counter who ended up being the owner/co-owner and she was fantastic to talk to, is clearly known locally by her regulars and she talks to them like family. 100% will come back here, I gorged myself on a double cheeseburger & house fries, 12/10. So good. My mouth wants more but my stomach is crying that it's ready to burst.

Great food! I've tried the catfish, garlic parmesan tater tots, jambalaya, and shrimp & grits. Nice sized portions and reasonably priced. Glad I discovered this hidden gem.

The food is well made and flavorful, the portions are large, and the owners are very friendly. Everything I've tried has been amazing! My favorite spot in EP.

The photo is after a 10 minute car ride, food was still just as hot as when I left, everything is full of flavor and you are welcomed when you approach the counter, such a great a experience, a hidden gem in Eden Praire, will be back soon, need some of that seasoning!

Edit: Idk how they made green beans taste this good but they did.

I got a Double Brunch Burger and Maple Sweet Potato Fries, and they are fantastic! The fries blew me away, massive quantity and quite possibly the best fries I've ever had. The double burger was the size of my head and honestly it won the battle. I cannot stress enough that the sheer quantity of food is outstanding, regardless of price.

The people there, I think they were the owners, provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. They had a great sense of humor and really care about the quality they provide. The nice lady at the front is an absolute sweetheart, and the chef clearly takes pride in his work. The food he makes issues you a challenge and I can't wait until I overcome it!

The location is a little confusing, but it's definitely worth going back. If they had a stand alone building I could not imagine the amount of business they would have. Don't let the unusual building stop you, give them a try because you will certainly be impressed.

I'm excited for the next burger and another helping of those fantastic fries!

Well worth finding, and waiting for. The lady who took my order was very nice. The food was amazing. It reminds of really good mom and pop restaurants down south, very hard to find around here. I will definitely be a regular

It took just a bit to find since my GPS was a bit off. The food we got was very good. Very good portions and tasty. The Gentleman that brought the food was very nice and friendly. We will definitely be going back!

Food was really good. The portions were more than generous. The owners were so very friendly and nice. I would go back in a heartbeat. Definitely keep an eye open for their specials. Not a criticism but make sure you have enough time to wait. They make everything fresh and to order so make allowances for that. But is so worth the wait. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the sweet potato fries and could not finish both even though I hadn't eaten since the previous night. Got my wife an order of the fried okra to go which was also very good.

First time here, and wont be the last one.
Great food, hugeee portions and good flavor.

They are amazing! We ordered catering for about 45 people and had to adjust our order a few times. They were so patient and promptly responded to answer all of our questions. The food was amazing, and they had the best price for any catering spot in Eden Prairie. Could not recommend them more to cater your event, they went above and beyond!

Directions to get to the place: Go into the door with the big 8080 next to it. See the stairs on the right and go down completely. Take the right and go straight until the wall. Take a right and go straight and you should reach there.

Anyway this was my first time there and for the price, the portions were very generous, and the food was also very good as well. I had gotten the Smokin BBQ burger and Fries with the house seasoning.

Burger: It was very sizable considering that I had gotten only a single. The bun was very soft and it basically looked like a picture perfect burger. There was a nice amount of cheese and the pickles inside the burger was great as well. The bacon was on the soft side for me, but it was still a really great burger.

Fries: These were hot. No really these were really hot. I dined in so I started eating when I had gotten there and the fries were definitely fresh out the fryer because after biting into a fry, my tongue felt very hot very quickly. The fries are crinkle cut and air on the fluffy center and slightly crisp outside. If you really like crispy fries, I will say that its not that. The fries were very well done however and the house seasoning was applied in a very generous amount as well. You know how cool ranch Doritos sometimes those few chips that are completely caked on with seasoning that taste considerably better than the rest of the chips? Well the fries here are like that, but they aren't so completely over seasoned that all you can taste is salt and spices. I guess I forgot to mention that the portion that you get is absolutely massive as well. The box that it came in was approximately 7" x 7" x 1" and the box was completely packed. Honestly you could make a full meal from just those fries alone. I brought them home afterwards since there was no way that I could finish all of them.

I will be absolutely going back in the future, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anybody looking for great food at great prices with great portion sizes.

Run, don’t walk to this eatery! Who knew that the best food in town is Smokin Hotdish? Your food is cooked to order and everything tastes super fresh and flavorful. Yum! This is a great place to get awesome food. Order online ahead of time to have food ready when you arrive. I am glad to have found this place and will continue to frequent.

Catered a work function. A complete hit with all who attended. Very happy with the quality and quantity of the food received. Will definitely be coming here again for our next function.
