I really like it here. Lots of tables, a couch for study or reading, free wifi and laptops allowed on weekdays ONLY. There is only one barista so service can get backed up, but I like the atmosphere and the vibe. Their drip coffee is bright, light, and acidic.

Awesome little family owned coffee shop. The owners daughter was working and made our coffees and while chatting with us told us a bit about the history of the family business having previously been a hardware store that was her fathers and then they turned it into the coffee shop it is today. Cozy and inviting space where many customers were just enjoying some downtime with a coffee. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

love the coffee and the general space here is a great place to indulge in it and pretend to work on your labtop whilst drinking maybe two coffees like all these other losers probably are doing. baked goods are really good as well

Really delicious espresso, great vibes, plus super cute bookstore. Everyone very friendly. Definitely will be coming back here to work or have in-person meetings. Also very clean bathroom.

I love the playground- best cold brew in the area, and every person who works there is incredibly kind and considerate.

Cute place - family-owned/operated. I had an espresso and it was flavorful. The woman working was the sister of the owner and was very friendly. We will return.

Love this shop, for both books and coffee. Located right across the infamous mural of Biggie, not only are their options fantastic but they're also run by a community who genuinely cares for inclusion of people regardless of colour and sexual orientation.

I first came to this place on my first visit to NYC back in 2018. I travel for work now and if I'm alloted enough time in the city I always try to find my way towards Brooklyn, and this shop. The tee I've bought here still remains my favourite 😊.

The almond cappuccino is always on point. But one time it was off. I know it depends on the new person making it or whatever. It seems like cappuccinos are not always made correctly in a lot of coffeeshops, sadly. I think it’s something the barista needs to pay attention to because these drinks ain’t cheap. All in all the space and the atmosphere is super chill. The music is always good, always something new to listen. Thanks.

Stopped by the Playground Coffee Shop for a book talk. The staff was nice and the vibe was chill and laid back. Great lighting. Clean shop. Definitely will be returning.

Very pleasant and friendly. Zania (probably saying her name wrong, sorry) but so warm and welcoming. Greeted everyone with the same energy. Chai tea latte was definitely better than Starbucks:)

Very cute coffee shop. Nice condiments stand that includes maple syrup, cocoa, cinnamon. Kind and friendly employees. Delicious espresso and nice milk options. Lovely bookstore in the back :) Nice seating, clean, and friendly.

Not only are they the best cup of coffee around, they’re an incredible space doing real work for their community. A place that centers black and brown people, that offers barista training, harm reduction/overdose training, clothing swaps for trans femme people, hosts movie nights and safe (non-bar) nightlife events. Did I mention how wonderful their staff is?

The one star reviews for this establishment simply untrue and seem to be posted by trolls with a hidden agenda. This coffee shop is welcoming, professional, and run by a brilliant team of people. Great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend! Always have a great time here.
