avid hotel Roseville - Minneapolis North, an IHG Hotel

This was our first stay with this brand. We picked it for convenience and location and were so pleasantly surprised. New modern rooms, very clean. The rooms are smaller than usual. However, the smart interior decor is fantastic and maximizes usage.
The bathroom is a very good size with shower door, which is also a big plus.

Breakfast is included and nice as well. Community area inviting and fun.

My most favorite features:
* No carpet anywhere - YEAH!! The floor is still warm and inviting
* Shower door
* Very comfy mattress
* Pillows that deserve the name pillow and are clearly marked of what comfort level they are
* Duvet covers and a good blanket. Snow white and super clean, and none of that sheet and/or decorative throw nonsense where one can only guess when it saw a washing machine from the inside last
* Modern and enough outlets considering all electronics used these days

I also do not want to forget to mention the friendly helpful staff.
All in all a very good stay and we will be back for sure.

Excellent just like every other Avid I’ve stayed at. The room is clean bed is soft and tv is HUGE probably 55-60 in. Staff seems nice except the night shift guy not sure if he was just in a bad mood or what but he seems to get bothered by the smallest things. Walked in on him and another customer yelling at each other.

This was my first time staying at the hotel and can confidently say one of the best ones I have stayed at. The room was very clean. I love the layout, the colors, I love the blackout curtain, the TV, I really love and was surprised at the dove hygiene products in the bathroom. The LED light in the bathroom is a plus too. Bed is clean, super comfortable. For the price of the hotel, it couldn’t get better. I hope it stays like this for the future because it truly is amazing. I will be coming back! Thank you avid for one of the best stays!

Location is perfect we feel. Very well appointed for a stay while in the area. Clean, bright and inviting. Has a well setup continental breakfast area also.

This is a nice location and very easy to get to. The room and common spaces were clean with friendly staff. Comfortable beds as well, would go back if I'm in town again.

I've stayed here 10 nights in 2023. Always great service and will return in the future. Very pet friendly. Front desk is awesome. People are great. You guys do awesome every time.

David and Mikayla were great and gave spectacular hospitality. Room are great, great variety for breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

We've stayed here before. Very good prices for the Twin Cities. The location if great, very quick access to 35W. Rooms are very neat. Pro tip, the king room is small, not a lot of room around the bed. Next time we stay here we'll book a two queen room for the same price and get a bigger room.

I had some concerns and I emailed the contact for the hotel and I had a response in about an hour. Very impressive.

This is considered a "Smart" hotel. 1st thing that means is the light in the bathroom comes on automatically. The bummer of this is that means even in the middle of the night when you're half asleep the light comes on. My wife figured out how to disable this but I never could. LOL the fix didn't last all the time.

2nd thing is the thermostat setting. Lets say you want the room to be 74°. So you leave for a couple of hours. Since the thermostat doesn't see anyone in the room moving it will not cool it to 74°. Instead the temp will go up.

For sleeping we like it at 72°. But it doesn't see anyone moving so the ac shuts off and in the middle of the night it was 76° in our room at 3 AM.

If you like quiet when you're sleeping that won't happen as the fan runs continuously no matter how you have it set.

This was my first time staying at an Avid hotel, and the experience was great! It was slightly cheaper than most hotels in the area, but offered one of the cleanest rooms I have ever been in. I was traveling by myself and got a single king bed on the second floor. It was on the small side, but functional and spotless. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was available, but I didn't try it during my stay due to other plans (or simply sleeping in). I did make good use of the coffee maker in the lobby, which grinds beans freshly for each cup, and the 24-hour gym, which is essential for lengthy stays in Minneapolis in winter. I didn't have many interactions with the staff, mainly due to a quick check in and general lack of issues, but they seemed like nice people. On the whole it was one of my best non-resort hotel experiences!

My brother and I have stayed at this hotel about six times on our way to the specialist.
The rooms are super, super clean, the breakfast is quite nice and the man that works the evening shift is AMAZING!!!
He's one of the best front desk persons I've ever met. He's añ older gentleman who is efficient, cordial, and very accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel if you're traveling or shopping in this area. Everything you'll need or want to buy is available within a couple of miles. GREAT service Avid!!!

First time at an AVID by IHG. I will definitely look for them in the future. Staff was great, Hotel was clean, room was great, bathroom was nice. The water was not the hottest.

A centralized location near both Minneapolis and St Paul. The concierge service is great and the breakfast is excellent. You get a grab and go with eggs, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruits and other various treats.

There’s a decent gym and their coffee maker/water dispenser was essential in the hot weather. I would come back in a heart beat and would recommend for people needing a place to stay in the Twin city.

Quiet.
No marijuana smell (which is a problem at so many other hotels).
Great breakfast!
Excellent desk service.
Very clean.
Free parking.
Great location being close to I35W.

Never stayed in an Avid hotel before but had a really good experience. A short list:

1. Check-in procedure was the fastest I've ever had and was super easy/no hassle. (no license plate required and all that nonsense).

2. Room was very clean including bathroom. Basic amenities but definitely above the quality one would expect in a two star hotel. Perfect business trip hotel.

3. Breakfast was take-away fare and again adequate for the hotel type. Things were clean and well stocked. Dining area was clean and had enough seating while I was there.

4. Basically the reason this was 5 stars instead of 4 was Clinton the manager himself. Extremely professional and checked in personally with my family multiple times to ensure our stay was going well and everything was satisfactory. Reminded me of the care you usually only get in a 4 star or higher. Hope he's well paid by corporate because he's going to bring in a lot of repeat business.

Only con was no fault of the staff. The hotel is right on the highway and specifically on an on ramp so the acceleration noise can be loud at night. So if you're a light sleeper try to get a room further away from the highway.

Hotel was clean. Beds comfortable. Basic hotel with good pricing. Appreciate the breakfast and good coffee. Had a bit of an issue at check in, but staff/manager were quick to help. Staff were friendly. Not sure I have been to a hotel where they text you during your stay to make sure everything is going well, but that is a nice touch.

I always try to stay in Avid hotels if I can, and this one might be the best one I have stayed in. As I walked into my room I heard a child crying in the room next to mine. It was pretty noticeable from down the hallway. Once I entered my room, I couldn't hear anything! The insulation is very good, and I slept like a rock on a comfortable bed. The breakfast options are plentiful and the gym equipment is great. I was able to work out every major muscle group during my stay. I also love the sparkling water on tap. And the design aesthetic/color choice is excellent. 11/10.

First: I travel with well-behaved but large dogs and I very much appreciate their pet policy (both dogs were welcome, no additional charge). This is the big reason I chose this hotel. Often the pet fee is close to or as much as the person's nightly fee and I refuse to pay that for my dogs to sleep in their crates that *I* brought.

Second: The hotel is VERY clean. I spilled a cup of water on the floor and when I mopped it up the towel was spotless. The rooms are nice. Maybe a little small but there's a huge TV and ample light. The bed is comfortable and pillows are plenty. The shower has decent pressure and there were plenty of towels. The area seems quite safe and it's close to good food and basic shopping. With the dogs, I am out walking them at all hours and never once felt uncomfortable. It's next to the highway but you don't hear it. The staff is nice and they kept the breakfast bar stocked well. Like is normal now, they don't service the room while you're gone. This doesn't bother me at all but for those who like that, you may have to specify.

For the people who care about whether or not a hotel is updated, this one is very current.

The hotel is further from the dog show site than I prefer to stay but I would not hesitate to return next time I come to town.

Bar none, this hotel is THE best hotel in the area if you are traveling with pets - dogs more specifically. AVID, Roseville makes sure, among other things, the walks are shoveled (for those of us who have to take our dogs outside), and they make sure the pet waste bag dispenser outside is full. The staff is human AND pet friendly! Although not a lot of frills, we really couldn't ask for a nicer hotel to stay at with our dog. We will, definitely, be staying here again.
