Romero's Upholstery

Excellent craftsmanship, really a lost art. Couldn't be happier. Before and after photos below. The rose are the chair before it was reupholstered in the blue fabric.

I inherited 2 chairs from a great aunt of mine who was closer and more dear to me than my own grandmother/her sister. They were 2 of my favorites in her collection; it means the world to me that I have them. Between their age and the fragility of their fabric paired with my children and pets (hello, scratching cat, 100 lb Dobermans and 2 teething puppies!), they were in need of some TLC. One wasn't too terrible, but my favorite, a little gold chair, the fabric was in tatters, the bottom ripped out, the foam disintegrated and falling out. Both were so well loved that you were pretty much sitting on the floor when you sat in them, that's how far they sunk down. I was hesitant to have anything done to them because I wanted them to still be "Ann's chairs" but they REALLY needed to be restored to be functional. I started my search for an upholsterer. A few places my family used in the past went out of business during the pandemic, some places I looked into didn't have good reviews, some places didn't return my phone calls. I narrowed down a few choices and thought I had my mind made up when my husband suggested Romero's. I had never heard of them but my husband went to school with the owner's son which is how he knew of the business. I decided to stop by the next time I was in the area. So glad I did! They were all so incredibly friendly and helpful, the fabric choices were endless, and the quote they gave me was almost HALF of what 2 other places gave me! They let me take my time picking out fabric (in fact, they pushed me to take my time, knowing it's a big decision). I expected to have to drop off the furniture as I would have had to do at several other places I looked into (one chair is so big and heavy, I was not looking forward to that) but Mr Romero came to my house to pick them up! The time frame it was done in was slightly longer than Mr Romero expected but not by much (and not longer than I expected; I knew how bad they were!) I paid exactly what the estimate was for; no surprises or extra charges. The chairs were dropped off the day after I got the call to say they were done. They are STUNNING! They look brand new! I went with almost exactly the same fabric for my precious gold chair so it looks literally exactly the same as it did when it was new back in the 1940s. For the other chair, I went slightly different which wasn't my intention but as soon as I draped one of the samples on it, I knew that was the one. (I am so glad they let me take samples home. Made decision making SO MUCH easier.) Different color than the original but still the same style and feel. I know first-hand sewing isn't easy and when you're trying to align patterns, it's a nightmare! But on my patterned chair, the pattern lines up PERFECTLY, from the front of the seat cushion to the seat surface and right up the back. The arms are lined up beautifully as well. I cannot get over the precision! IDK what he did to the wood (he said he was going to "clean it up" but it looks more than cleaned up) but it looks so much richer than before. I am so much happier with the wood on my gold chair now! (It was a slightly unpleasant color originally.) Not only do they look beautiful, but we're no longer sitting 2" from the floor when we're in them! So much more supportive! I cannot say enough good things about this business. I know this was a long winded review (sorry!) but I wanted to list the reasons WHY this place is so remarkable and not just say "it's good". The quality, the speed, the service, the price... I couldn't be happier. These weren't just chairs to me; they mean more to me than that. A piece of family history was brought back to life, and I didn't have to spend half of our savings to do so. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Within a day of the Mrs helping me choose a complimentary fabric for a chaise that my dog had dug a hole in, I got a quote, my chaise was picked up, and returned 10 days later as I was told. Love it! Pleasure doing business with such nice professionals!

Thank you for your continued Excellent workmanship And No its not located in India it is actually in the building where Tomas Edison worked on his inventions.

He is nice guy. I went to see him on Wednesday,he gave me a price and I agreed and he came in pickup six chairs. He delivered them to my house on Saturday afternoon. He did a Excellent job.

Need to visit

He must have paid others for their good reviews!. Just as he saw a sucker in me for paying for his poor workmanship. Shame on you Romero your a better used car salesman rather then an upholsterer

Quoted work a few months ago, then increase price by 25%. Can not recommend this type of price gauging. Beware.
