One of the quietest and most beautiful little museums in NYC. We were sad that the main exhibit was closed for a changeover to reopen in May but the two exhibits upstairs and downstairs were worth the trip.

The work they do highlighting Ukrainian artistic talent and history and parsing it out post Soviet absorption and appropriation is valuable to obtain a better understanding of how Ukrainian art has evolved and continued to transform. I look forward to visit again in July when I return to see the main exhibit.

Great little museum! We went to see Mariia Prymachenko exhibit which was pretty incredible! Nice friendly staff, cute gift shop. They have some good art books and a small library downstairs and a permanent collection of Ukrainian arts and crafts upstairs. Annual membership is only $50 while adult ticket is $15. Kids get free entrance. Recommend! For the full Ukrainian experience, stop by Veselka or Lys Mykyta for varenyky - just up a few blocks.

A hidden gem of a museum that I happened to see while searching for museums in the area. It's well worth a visit and easily spend 1-2 hours here exploring, understanding and taking in all the different exhibits and pieces. The museum showcases a variety of Ukrainian artists that highlight the past but also current events. A mix of different mediums from photographs, textiles, drawings, movies/short films. Reasonable admission fee as well and you can store a bag at the front desk.

I came for the pysanky eggs and supplies in the gift shop, and toured the small museum as well. The real attraction are the eggs. I am excited to get better at the art of wax dyed eggs. Saddened that I was made aware of the museum and eggs because of what’s happening in Ukraine. What a terrible thing and I am so sorry for all who have family and friends there now.

Although it's small it's worth visiting if you are in the area. There were two collections when I visited this museum. Art work descriptions are extensive, in large font, easy to read and bilingual. Very friendly staff. Expect to spend 30min - 1h at the museum.

The museum was spacious and I really appreciate that when browsing art pieces. I loved the experience taking the suggestions from the woman working the front desk. She was incredibly helpful and I felt at peace here. There are plenty of gems in the gift shop that are not easily to locate elsewhere. Definitely will be coming back and taking my mom with me next time.

Wonderful museum! Learned much about the beautiful Native people of Ukraine! Amazing how much they have in common with the native people of North America!

This museum in the LES takes about an hour to visit all three floors and there's a lot of interesting artwork. You couldn't avoid contemporary mentions of Russia's invasion, but there was also plenty of folk art that really captures the essence of Ukrainian culture.

For newcomers, a bit more context and history could've been useful, but I had a good time walking around and seeing stuff.

What a treasure this museum is. I expected eggs and embroidery, but there is so much more. First of all, though, the eggs are magnificent. There is a short film showing how they are painted. What skill! What imagination! What struck me most about the embroidery is the rich and unusual use of color. And besides these two crafts there were excellent paintings, mostly representational, with an emphasis on flowers. And some really beautiful kilim. Go! You won't regret it!!!

A fun place to visit with friends and family. They have a bunch of different artwork on display on three different floors at the Ukrainian Museum. The price to get in wasn't very expensive, and the staff here were all very friendly. I had a very nice time perusing the artwork with my friends.

If you're looking for something relaxing and educational to do in the city, I recommend stopping by the Ukrainian Museum.

A beatiful place to visit to understand both ancient and modern Ukrainian art and culture. I couldn't just let the country be a place I only hear about daily during this tragic war, but a culture I could take time to learn about directly. The egg collection alone is worth a taxi from anywhere in New York. The go around the corner and eat a superb Ukrainian lunch at Veselka or the Ukrainian Home.

Wonderful (quite small) museum I visited in Feb 2018.
An interesting overview over Ukrainian culture and art, especially pattern and embroidery.
I often think of this visit in these times as I often think about my visits in Ukraine.
Who wants to know about this country, its culture and people should visit.

Amazing cultural gem. A must see if you are ethnically Ukrainian, as I am. They have an exhibit creatively depicting the current war in Ukraine. In my opinion, this museum succinctly captures the vibrancy of Ukrainian culture.
