I have not been here in YEARS. My parents took us here for the first time when we were kids and I had to check it out again since I was in the area. I remember the pastrami sandwiches being amazing and it did not disappoint. Sandwich was amazing (I took it to go) and they took extra effort to package up the pickles (another fave) and the mustard separately so I could enjoy it later. Picked up a knish too which was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Our first time at the deli and we enjoyed our lunch! We ordered the tuna sandwich and the pastrami sandwich! Both were delicious and better than any other deli in town. We loved the pickles too!! Next time, we will bring our parents and kids!

Amazing place to stop in for a bit to eat. Great portions and fresh food. Always stop here every summer on our way back to Ct. The lady at the front is so sweet, she must be deaf and have amnesia-lol. All jokes aside, I recommend you stop by!

The food was delicious, we ordered liverworst, soup, pastrami sandwich, chicken wrap, and turkey/cheese sandwich for our toddler. We were served quickly, service was friendly. A sippy cup was provided for our toddler which was amazing. It was stroller friendly. The location is spacious and clean. Will definitely be coming back!

Have been to Eppes Essen several times this year for dine-in and take out. You get a genuine NYC deli experience here. Food is always excellent. Last Sunday, enjoyed a pastrami on rye. It is just as you hope - piled high. Moist. Flavorful. Today, their #6, pastrami, corned beef, slaw and Russian. Savored every bite. My parents are deli critics and agree - excellent deli. Yeah, you’re gonna spend a few more dollars here, but everything is expensive. And, you don’t mind when you get good quality food.

Just had pastrami for the first time. The sandwich with the slaw was UNBELIEVABLE. Thankful for friends who recommend GREAT food bc this place is now on my favorites list. Ate it too fast. Forgot to take a picture 😂

This is a great option for Jewish deli food in NJ! Fabulous food— love the meats, perfectly cooked and lean. Every time my family and I dine there, we enjoy everything we order! Potato pancakes, chicken matzoh ball soup, coleslaw, potato salad, etc. are delicious. The crew who work there are the best!

They are on the pricier side but they serve pricier quality...

Eaten here and we've gotten takeout for holidays.

The broth in the chicken soup is one of the best around, and you can't go wrong on any sandwich...just go small unless you want tons of leftovers.

The pastrami sandwich was excellent. The was tender with no fat. The cold slaw was crisp and fresh with just enough mayo. The side order of macaroni salad was very tasty.
I look forward to eating from Eppes Essen's menu again very soon.

Finally, someone got it right. Perfect pastrami and excellent corned beef melted in our mouths. Moreover, our takeout order was correct in every detail - an exception to what we have experienced with many other places lately. Friendly staff greeted us; everything was ready for us at the appointed time. The food was definitely worth every penny. A great lunch made our day.

Lucky to find this place for lunch on a work trip. A little pricey, but half a sandwich for lunch and the other half the next day. The staff was super friendly and they have everything you would want in a real Jewish deli.

Closest Your Getting To Katz deli in Nyc My Opinion. the steak fries are bomb and if ya get them to go there still hot and fresh 30 mins later . The Pastrami on Rye is Amazing Love it . The pickles are awesome sweet & sour ! One thing I do dislike is a can of seltzer cost $3 bucks ! But everything else is on the money here !

Very pricey, but delicious. Did a great job at catering my son’s bris… not only was the owner patient with my mother, but called to check in after to ensure everything was smooth. Extremely generous portions (which is nice at this price point) but our guests all loved the food. I expected delicious corned beef and and pastrami, and was not disappointed, but was very pleasantly surprised by the delicious black and whit economies and Rugla that came with dessert.

Have been wanting to go to a Kosher deli for quite some time. There aren't any in my area. This place exceeded my expectations. It's so clean and spacious. The food is excellent. Even the customers were so friendly passing by our table and having a chit chat. Makes you feel like family. I will be going back there again and again. If you've never experienced a Kosher deli, you must go and try it. If you've been to Kosher delis, this will rate as one of the best.

Visiting from the West Coast. My mom-in-law got us their stuffed cabbage for dinner and I must say they tasted better than my mom’s. The sweet and tart tomato sauce was delectable. We’ll have to go there to eat before heading back home.
