Unfortunately our three year old Chocolate lab needed her second knee surgery. However, we were blessed to have Dr. Bookbinder and his wonderful staff to once again provide the surgical skill and care to get her back to her playful self! Their facility and their professionalism let you know that your babies are in good hands and will be well cared for. We couldn't be happier and more grateful to Dr. Bookbinder and the entire Upstate Veterinary Team...and we say thank you very much!

I can't even put into words how thankful I am that we found Dr. Bookbinder. He's done so much for my dog and goes above and beyond. For example, I had to call him at 11:30 pm as my dog got his cone off in his crate and was able to tear his bandages off and opened his surgical incision. He answered right away and told us to come in the next day. To find a compassionate doctor like that in today's day and age is completely unheard of. He's also incredibly kind. I'm very blessed to have such a wonderful surgeon for my dog ❤

Dr. Bookbinder and his whole team are just amazing. He has repaired 4 separate ACL's for my dogs with excellent results. Paul really cares about pets, and you can tell he really just wants to help them live long, healthy lives. They patient, answer a million questions, extremely fair with how they handle billing for checkups and meds and such post surgery. They have someone in the building 24/7 taking care of pets who have had surgery that stay overnight, you can call the office and get updates on your pet all night long if you need to, and I've called Dr. Bookbinder personally at night and on the weekends and he was always happy to mostly just calm my nerves about things that weren't a big deal. I am tremendously appreciative of him and his whole teams help.

They are not the cheapest option from what I understand, but the level of service and quality of the work is well worth the premium. I wouldn't even consider another option at this point.

Dr. Bookbinder repaired Ella's ACL perfectly! His 'bedside' manner was as incredible as his surgical skills are the greatest bar none! We drove from Henrietta NY to see him!

CCL replacement surgery was very scary and I dreaded it. Dr. Bookbinder is one of the most caring and personable doctors I've ever dealt with. He was available and helpful throughout my dog's recovery.

Dr. Bookbinder repaired my Golden's ACL this week and he and his staff were excellent. He gets right down on the ground with the animals and ensures he provides exactly what they need to live a happier and healthier life. Prior to surgery and after a morning of imaging, he took the time to answer any questions we had, show us on a model what surgery he was going to perform, etc. After the surgery he personally called me to tell me how it went and that she was in good hands. He even came out at pick up to see if we had any additional questions the next day! His staff is available all night for their overnight stay and were very welcoming to "call anytime you're thinking of her and would like an update!" I was very nervous for this surgery and overnight stay, but his team made me so comfortable and confident that my pup was in the best care.

Both the Dr and staff are knowledgeable, professional and helpful in every way. They are sincere and authentic and I am so glad I found them. We drive 2 hours each way to take our dog here and I would do it 1000 times - the comfort level and trust they have created by their quality of care and work are invaluable. In March, Dr. Bookbinder surgically removed a tumor from the thyroid of my 9-year-old pitbull, Owen. Dr. Bookbinder and his wonderful staff treated both my dog and me with kindness, empathy, and patience, and were transparent through every step of treatment. Communication was fantastic, and I appreciated that I was able to call and talk to a staff member 24 hours per day during his recovery process (during both the night that he was in the hospital and after he came home). When Owen threw up at home four days after surgery due to the antibiotic upsetting his stomach, we were able to bring him right into the office and get him a different treatment. In the months since, Owen has recovered very well from the surgery and has been able to move on to the next stage of treatment for his condition. This would not have been possible without the care that he was given at this hospital. I am so grateful for the care and support that we have received from Dr. Bookbinder and his team, and would recommend them to anyone whose pet needs surgery.

Dr. Bookbinder and his team are incredibly thorough and nurturing throughout the whole process. I wouldn’t wish a torn ACL on anyone’s dog, but if it happens this is the place to have the surgery. Very professional and highly recommend!

Super late review, but years later, we're still talking about how amazing Dr. Bookbinder and his staff were any time we talk about our dog's broken leg. He genuinely cared about my dog and did whatever he could to heal him. He was that awesome that I needed to let anyone checking his reviews know that this is where you need to go. And to the Dr and his staff, thank you for everything you did for us.

Just left Upstate Veterinary after our second surgery there. Dr. Bookbinder is a wonderful surgeon! Our first ACL repair went great and I have every faith in this second surgery being just as successful (just repaired her other ACL 3-4 years later). Everyone in the office was kind and very caring toward me and my fur baby. Very thankful to them all!

My lab had a torn ACL and I was given 2 options for places to take him. I was not impressed with the reviews.I did my own research and found this place. I called and spoke with Diane who was wonderful and took the time to answer all my questions about surgery, recovery, etc. When we went for the consult, Dr. Bookbinder explained everything he was doing and even came out to the parking lot to explain it to me as well since I could not go in (due to COVID only one person is allowed inside with your pet). This is a very professional office and all the staff have great care and compassion about what they do. The price for the surgery was less expensive than what I had been told for the cost. This was just an added bonus. I’m thankful for vet offices that care about your animal and don’t just see dollar signs!!

My dog tore her ACL and had surgery almost 8 weeks ago. The surgery went perfectly and she's on her way to a full recovery! Dr Bookbinder is an excellent orthopedic doctor. He is extremely patient and compassionate. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The office is very clean and you never have to wait long while there for an appointment. I highly recommend!

You can actually call ANYTIME to check on your animal while there at the surgery center - and actually speak to a caring polite person. Such a wonderful place♡
