Bamboo Takei Sushi

Had Dynamite avocado spicy tuna roll ten piece..was a beautiful presentation and a delicious complex tastes with the avocado which added creamy texture , had the spiciness of the sauce, the tuna, and the sweet crunch of the apple was bursting with layers of flavor. The miss soup was exceptionally good. Would definitely recommend this little gem for any sushi lover. What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in flavor. Pricing is reasonable.

Great traditional Japanese spot with first-class service. Was shocking find we found randomly. All the fish was very fresh, sweet, not fishy at all. The salmon was my favorite, tender and buttery. Rolls were tight, well rolled. There was a surprising amount of free stuff: edamame, miso soup, special roll, and even free ice cream mochi with the check. I felt like a celebrity. It's rare to see places offering complimentary items much anymore. Their customer service here is on par with Japan, definitely coming back. I love the ceramic tea cups here also.

I love this place. Been here twice as of 9/22/22. It’s sorda like a hidden little gem. Located in a small plaza and there’s always parking. It’s super low key, very clean, sweet and cozy. The service is fast and the food is delicious. I already have my “ top sushi spots” that I adore in NJ but this one is now added to the list ♥.

I’ve been coming to this wonderful place for over 15 years ! I’ve got to say I’ve had sushi in a long list of places. This is the place to go for amazing quality sushi , always fresh and beautifully prepared dishes. The owners are extremely friendly and professional. I LOVE this place!!!! Worth the hour drive I take and I crave the food here. Can’t wait to go back. Love you guys!

The food is very refreshing and prepared right on front of you. Overall the experience is great specially due to the owners showing kindness to their customers. Also, the miso soup is sooo tasty so your not slurping hot water!

Came here for our Valentines lunch date and everything was good! We had shrimp tempura and the chicken tempura with rice and ginger salad.

We found this little spot when we were in search of GOOD sushi without the need to drive 45 minutes. To our surprise we found a small sushi spot in Wayne near our offices on Rt 23 with great reviews and ratings. We decided to try it out. We'll this is now our second time here and they've impressed again. The fish is fresh and great plating with wonderful flavors. You need to try and I mean NEED to try their Beef Dumplings. I mean I've never had better dumplings, so crispy and amazing flavor. They are made in a way I've never had and will return for them time and time again. The place is quaint and nice with amazing plants everywhere. The staff is great and courteous and we've enjoyed both our visits with delight and wanting to return. If you're in the area you need to try this place.

This little hole in the wall has hands down the single best hospitality I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The staff were absolutely wonderful and immediately made us feel welcome. The service was so generous and so much more than we expected for just a small little place. The food was beyond delicious. They've got the best ginger salad dressing I've ever had in my life, and that's just grazing the surface of how good the entire meal was. I recommend this place above any else!

Storefront, clean, top quality sushi. The couple, who own the business are so friendly and the quality and presentation of everything is excellent. Try the "Chef's Special Salad" and there are never ending varieties of rolls. Everything is the freshest it can be. It's a little "piece of paradise."

Best sushi around, it’s the only place my family will go! We cater them several times a year too! I love that you can taste the fresh fish and not everything is crazy deep fried and covered with a billion sauces. There’s texture in the spicy rolls too and not just a one note mushy mess. I’ve been coming here since 2013 when I first tried sushi and it’s first place I bring friends to try sushi for the first time too. I absolutely love this place and the family that owns the restaurant make you feel like a part of their own.

I drive here from Manhattan regularly to get take-out sushi. Even versus restaurateurs in the city, I swear their fish is fresher and the way they cut their sushi is generous. This isn't the place I go to for fancy rolls. This is the place I go to when I'm looking for fresh, tasty, straightforward sushi.

Somehow, their tuna sushi (yes, just fish on rice) just really stands out in the sea of sameness of other sushi places where they really have to dress it up, throw toppings about and give it a long name with a big price tag. Don't get me wrong, I go to places like that too if I'm feeling that vibe. Takei Sushi is not that kind of place. This is a small business run by a man, his wife and a mutual respect for simple sushi done right.

Don’t go anywhere else for sushi. Once you come here, you’ll never find this quality sushi anywhere else in the tri state area. Family owned and operated by the sweetest couple who occasionally have help from other family members. They’ll get to know you and your typical orders and sometimes give you rolls on the house based on your preferences. Incredibly cheap for what you get - the highest quality sushi and bigger than average rolls. Oh, it’s BYOB too. The decor is quaint and lovely- my favorite being the wall sized canvases of landscape. We have been going there for almost 10 years now, and cannot seem to go anywhere else. I can go on and on about how amazing Takei is but the bottom line is you should go here for sushi.

This place is a gem and tucked away. Nice interior awesome staff and service. The food was also very good. They are so nice my little one was celebrating a bday and they gave us extra sushi . Would go here again and again. Go here you will not be disappointed.

This place is so cute. The people there always greet you. They start you off with green tea. Their food (I got a 3 roll special) is delicious! My friends and I even got some surprise mochi for dessert. :)

Such a great place, My family and me have been here over and over, I cant even count all the times. The food is always great every single time, definitely recommend. Always remember my order, and always give us an extra whole role for free!
