Thatcher McGhee's Denville

It's been years since I've been to Thatcher's. Don't know why I waited so long. It was great. Service was fast and friendly. Corned beef and cabbage was delicious and a huge portion. Definitely will be back soon.

Went to Thatcher McGhee’s for dinner on a Wednesday night with my family. There were a decent amount of people in the “dining room” and the bar looked pretty full. It he services was great and our food came out fast dispute the number of people there.
The taste of Ireland was delicious. They give you a good portion of shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, Guinness stew and bangers with a scone on top. (See picture in clock wise order) All of the food came out piping hot and stayed hot while we were eating, no one like a cold dish.
Everyone else I was with also liked their dishes. Definitely a good place if your feeling something Irish or for a good hearty meal!

One of the better Irish restaurants or pubs I have been to within the Jersey area. Honestly, prompt service - responsive and attentive. Plenty of ample parking that is free in the center of Downtown Denville area, truly an excellent asset to have the free parking to promote or encourage more visitors or clients. Excellent downtown area in Denville as well. Tasty food and quality of Irish cuisine.

Absolutely loved the interior, decor, and atmosphere. We had appetizers for our meal that we shared. We tried a sampler that had wings, tator tots, chicken fingers, and a pretzel. We also had the fries that came with cheese and caramelized onions and a side of gravy. Everything was hot and fresh. I don't know that I would get the fries again, as a personal preference it felt like there were too many large onions, but the gravy and cheese were delicious. I'm eager to try actual meals here soon!

The place has great music, there’s DJ after 10 pm on Friday’s. I went with my folks for drinks and appetizers. I liked the spinach and artichoke dip - so creamy and fresh, and the thin crust cheese pizza - the sauce is good. From the drinks we ordered I liked the absolute stress reliever the most. Getting a table has quite some waiting time on weekends, so plan ahead- no reservations are taken. The service/staff is really good and helpful.

Was in the area for the night and was in the mood for some solid bar food and quite a few beverages. Thatchers was suggested and man was it absolutely great. Great bar food, great Guinness and a great atmosphere. If I lived in the area I would be here all the time.

I hadn't been here in a while and now I regret it. I got the Irish combo with Shepherd's pie, beef stew, chicken pot pie, and bangers and mashed. Each dish was authentic and absolutely delicious. So glad they featured it as a combo. The potato skins were excellent as well and the prices were beyond reasonable especially considering their location. I highly recommend and this will be back in my preferences.

I stopped in to pick up food and the place was jumping. I’ll definitely come back for some drinks, and I also ordered the Irish curry. I wouldn’t have expected those two words in the same sentence, but I stand corrected. It was delicious. Solid work 👍🏼

I recently went here for lunch, and the food that we ordered off of the "Traditional Irish" menu was phenomenal! The server we had, Michael, was so friendly and welcoming, greeting us with a big smile! He was super attentive and friendly through our entire lunch visit! The food came out fast, hot, and delicious! The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you get, for sure! If you haven't been here yet, try it!

Monday in Denville, almost all the restaurants are closed - Thatcher McGhee's saved the day for us, and turned out to be a genuine treat in the process.

We were very well attended to, in a cozy, book-sy sort of nook of the pub, by Jim, who had a lovely British accent of some sort (I know there are many, I don't want to get it wrong). He was engaging and easy to get along with - as were all the dishes we ordered, from the bar platter and the drinks to the entrees, many of which are familiar, some of which are clearly more classically Irish or British.

The interior is many variegated, but all sections have that warm, cosy feel of a pub - and interestingly a reiteration of the thatched roof on the exterior of the building within as well.

We're surely end up coming back - Monday or not - when next we're in town!

My wife brought me here for Father's Day and we had a great time. Courteous service, quick prep of the food and delicious dinner. The Curry Fries were wonderful and the Bangers and Mash were World Class. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Wonderful experience; Sam our waitress was not only a delight but was so helpful. She was honestly great. Came in after the pink witches night out and it did not disappoint! Thatcher’s is an awesome place; ask for Sam!!
