Railside Cafe

Great food and service! I loved my crispy chicken sandwich which they allowed me to switch the ciabatta bread for a croissant. Their quiche was also pretty good. I would say it's like Panera but 10 times better.

Wonderful coffee shop in town with nice breakfast menu, plenty of tables, pastries, muffins, coffee, cappuccino, coffee and coffee :-) ... lunch is good too. Why did I stop in? I felt led... and I am happy that I followed that prompt. Great place to relax, they've got public internet if you need to connect... Paul is always working hard, and his staff is always friendly. High recommend!!

My daughter had an appointment for a dress fitting and while waiting for her I was craving an iced coffee. I am not familiar with the area but figured there is always a Starbucks close by. As I pulled in the municipal lot I noticed the Cafe and decided let me just go there because I didn't want to get lost. So glad a did. The young lady behind the register was very welcoming and when she repeated my order to the gentleman beside her and called him dad I immediately felt a warmth. I just love businesses where the kids are there helping their parents. When I ordered a few baked goods for the hubby I decided to get a lemon bar for myself and oh boy was it so good. So fresh and flavorable not that old refrigerated taste. Her dad, I apologize for not getting a name, was so pleasant. When he repeated my order he did it in a manner that made me feel he wanted to make sure I was a pleased customer. I've gone to lots a bakeries and cafes where it feels like they are rushing you because they need to get to the next customer. This is not that place. As I completed my order and paid they were just as nice saying goodbye to me as when they greeted me. I can't wait for my daughters next fitting in July. 5 stars all around, great food, friendly atmosphere, very clean and my caramel latte perfect not to sweet.

Excellent. New name, same fantastic menu. Haven't visited in over 2 years-- was concerned that there was only one other customer present for breakfast-- but those concerns evaporated when I got my meal. Among the best avocado toasts I've had anywhere-- it's put together with care and seasoned well. Service is friendly and attentive. Will be back.

Great place! They SAVED me! My son wanted a pecan pie for his 21st b-day and apparently this "holiday" pie isn't available anywhere. I remembered their great bakery items, called them, and they had one pie left which they put aside for me. It was out of this world! Buttery crust, excellent filling! To die for! Everything I have ever gotten here has been excellent! Staff is friendly! My son has had burgers here and said they are great! Going to make a point of heading over for lunch! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

I like it. We're cofortable atmosphere and I really like the folks who work there. I've gone there a couple times (not a ton, but enough to feed a good feel). The food is fresh, consistent, and nicely presented.

My family had:
- Cobb salad: fresh, nice Romain lettuce (not iceberg), bacon,, avacado, etc. It was large, and nicely arranged.
- coffee (Ethiopian) not over roasted and chocolatey
- fries : hick cut and really good
- carrot cake : yum .

Felt compelled to praise this place because it really uplifted my spirits today and always. The service is so kind and wonderful. Special shout-out to Trey, who is truly outstanding. He uniquely spiced up my coffee with his own recommended mix of coffee flavors, consistently checked on me as I worked on my laptop and anticipated what I might need, and kept my coffee hot for like 2 hours! Additionally, Monae had me sample her new Egg Nog cupcake which was delicious. The portions are great value and the food tastes homemade. Music and atmosphere is warm and inviting. I am lucky to have this place as an alternative place to work and meet with people. Excellent management, thank you!

Chef Paul Michael / Railside Cafe make AMAZING food . I had the shrimp & grits and bananas pancakes. Well seasoned like grandma made them!!! Great customer service as well. I would DEFINITELY return.

@general manager your current tip settings are incorrect.

right now it’s set to offer customers 12%,15% and 18%. please change the ipad to reflect 20%, 25%, and 30%

20% is standard so to right off the bat suggest less than that is a disservice to your staff.

For some reason we arrived at the Fanwood station with a half hour before the train arrived. The Railside cafe is just across the street (less than 200 feet)- thus the name! We had not gone to this place since it was Maria's. A sign said they offered a breakfast special (pictured). We ordered it, and it was made right away- one scrambled, one easy over. Both we prepared correctly. We sat by the window in this airy room and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts.

I tried Mara's for the first time during the holiday season. A delightful selection of pastry and the cupcakes are "to live for" great taste, great choices and my gift recipients agreed. I'd say worth a visit or the drive.

Waiting for a train on a hot July afternoon, I look around for a quick cool off. There across the street, like a desert mirage stands Mara's, beckoning with the promise of air conditioning and shade. But once inside the refrigerated oasis, I see that the reward for my trek goes far beyond the temperate excellence, it offers Gelato!!! And it was amazing!
So try it.

Just visited MARA'S BAKERY & CAFE, I had the VEGGIE TOAST VEGANIZED and it was DELICIOUS!! My husband had the PORTABELLA BURGER and a cupcake!! He's not vegan!! Friendly service and delicious food I can eat, I'll definitely go back!!!

Food was great, price was reasonable. Lots of natural lighting inside, but a strange layout not conducive to many customers simultaneously. Best time to come may be after the morning rush for an early lunch.

A relaxing atmosphere with delicious breakfast foods. We will be back again!

I can say enough about this place. The food was excellent and the service was fast and courteous.

Signage posted says they offer live music and a Jaz brunch. I am not sure when check their website for details.

This place is BYOB.

Yummy Greek omelette AND I was able to get a latte with unsweetened almond milk. Great customer service and value. Can't wait till next time!
