Always a beautiful place to walk. Herons and loons on the pond, fishing from shores and boardwalks. Short, easy improved trails most of the way around Grangers Pond. Raised boardwalk traverses the marshy area through the trees

The park is centered around a monument "in memory of the soldiers of Lake County who died for the preservation of the union 1861-1865".
Quotes on the monument:
"The National Union - the palladium of our political safety and prosperity. Washington's farewell 1796"
"Without union, our independence and liberty never can be maintained. Jackson's inaugural 1833"
"To maintain the honor, the integrity and the existence of our national union and the perpetuity of popular government. Lincoln's proclamation 1861"

One of Painesville's best parks to host events right in the center of town.

They put a deluxe porta potty in the park this year ( a new solution for park visitors instead of disrupting area businesses, judicial buildings, and other places in town? ) Anyway, love the events the town sets up for community. They keep up on cleanliness of the grounds ( trash cans accessible/ not overflowing, grassy areas are usually free from garbage and natural debris/ sticks/ waste...). Love the landscaping/ decor whenever seasons change. Whenever driving through town to head towards Mentor avenue, I'll make the extra turn or two just so we take the red brick road of Veterans park. So, a great place to have lunch, bring family, watch everyday of local goings-on, amazing community events. The officials have given priority to time and money for upkeep of the square and Id like to think it gives a sense, as locals, we feel pride in our little town. The park endeavors painesville to forge citizenship unity as an identity, striving us to Honor our connectivity, Veterans park, can create belief in genuine community.

It is a nice park that is also the town square for the City of Painesville. I was there for the 140th anniversary of the dedication of the monument pictured below.

I really appreciate the area. There's a lot of area withds benches alongside the sidewalk. They have no public restrooms, you can visit the surrounding establishments.

Always nice people and sites to see. There are homeless issues but most are good people if you hear their stories. Educational if you read the monuments. Car shows on Fridays and other recreational activities throughout the season.

Painesville's square has fascinating buildings and monuments. I am especially struck by Cain and Abel statues on the courthouse steps. They are ever reminders that no deed is hid.
The Veterans Memorial is a great reminder of their heroic deeds of which we owe our freedom.

It's a small park, but the wooden piers are really nice for fishing

Awesome little park especially when they have Party in the Park in Painesville Ohio! Great time and place to bring your kids, friends, and family to enjoy some fair food and awesome music! I have a few vendors selling food and drinks along with some fun fair trinkets and treasures! And if you like music and are in the painesville area, partying the park is a great time to go!

Stopped at farmer's market today. Rainbow farms had nice produce and there were a lot of delicious looking baked goods. Great opportunity to buy good fresh items.
