I went to have my MacBook Pro checked on because it was shutting off at odd times. Staff member Jeff gave it a thorough check & recommended the best thing to do was to send it out to AppleCare. It only took a few days & there was no charge because I have Applecare coverage. The problem was minor & easily solved. Mike's Tech Shop keep me up to date & called me when my laptop returned to the shop.
It took me only a few minutes to pick up my computer. Staff member Angela explained to me what work was done. I really appreciate both Jeff & Angela for their great customer service. They answered all my questions, were very knowledgeable, professional & friendly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business.

This place is amazing. So helpful and knowledgeable. They came recommended by Apple 🍎. I spoke to Jeff he was such a delight. Solved my issue it was effortles.. it should have cost me 75$ for the upgrade but he realized a certain version was available to me and I wasn't charged. A true man of integrity 👏 🙏

I came into Mike's through Apple's authorized repair providers program to have my MacBook Air screen repaired. They were clear in their diagnosis, professional in their demeanor, and shipped my laptop back to me (I live outside of NYC) with it perfectly functioning. I highly recommend!

I was referred by the genius bar when they could not transfer my El Capitan Imac to a New Ventura .My El capitan had imploded.They could not get the Mac to light up and suggested I try for data retrieval . I was already mourning my memories and data when I met Jeff who got a spark out of the Mac. Two days later I had my data back and put into my Vetura shell. I can't thank you enough.Thanks also to Angela who saved the data and Kia for advice on how to get my photos to my new computer. Everyone was more than helpful and the results were for me terrific

I had a wonderful experience at Mike’s Tech Shop. Angela was incredibly professional and helpful. She provided outstanding troubleshooting support and even though there was no way to retrieve the data from my very old and antiquated MacBook Air, I felt I was in very good hands and she did everything she could to help me. I am very grateful to have found this place and would recommend it to anybody needing assistance. Thank you Angela!

Always a reliable go to for most Apple products, new or open box deals, repairs and general questions.

Recent experience has been fine and I never ran into the bad/rude employee two one star reviewers mentioned- hopefully he was fired by now and replaced with decent staff like Mike’s usually hires.

5 years back they saved all the data from an older MacBook Pro that froze on my desk I’d left in an apt that lost all heat for days during a wicked intense cold spell that produced 2 days of -10f cold temps plus nasty blizzard conditions.. when I returned from a short trip a few days later, I found a warped metal cover, cracked screen and screwed up battery issue.. a real life horror scene. I always babied that laptop and never saw a laptop so hideously damaged. A single photo would’ve been a viral “omg” sensation if that was a thing then, lol.

I dreaded the diagnosis, fearing all data including thousands of precious photos, custom audio and music data was lost.. I’d backed up some but not all. Even they weren’t sure anything could be saved, but they did salvage all the data, transferred the miraculously undamaged hard drive it to a new inexpensive used MacBook pro model, upgraded the memory and had it back to me within a few days for a reasonable cost and lengthy guarantee. Never had issues with it since. Whew.

Been a happy customer for over a decade and that’s just one reason why. Always recommend them to people and go there first for many Apple product needs, repairs or questions. Regardless what one bad reviewer said they don’t just take cash- any employee saying that is scammer- call/email the owner and let them know his name and if there’s no quick reply file a report with the NYC consumers affairs dept.

Staff is constantly knowledgable, mellow and honest. Prices are fair, service steady, repair turnaround quick, they never overcharge or try to upsell unnecessary things you don’t need, and aren't pushy or impatient.

Shop feels cozy in a cool old brick walled, worn wood floor and high ceiling space. Love the blend of modern with historic, in a great neighborhood close to other stuff and major subway and bus lines. NYC is lucky to have a unique shop like this.

Truly the kindest customer service I’ve received in a long time. Even though they didn’t “fix” my issues, they told me my options, how much it would cost, and other repair shops they recommended. So nice and didn’t charge for the advice. I feel so taken care of!

Excellent staff who are friendly and take time to address concerns well. Pretty easy to schedule an appointment online with Apple as an Authorized Service Center. Quick service. They were able to service my 2013 MacBook Air battery even after the Apple Store refused service because it’s considered obsolete. They’ll always be my go-to from now on for Apple service issues.

I had a great experience at this shop after my phone decided to randomly freeze. I was able to book an appointment same day (within an hour!) and they fixed the issue and gave my phone a diagnostics test too. The staff were super friendly as well!

I've been in to Mike's a couple times recently and they are very nice and helpful. Kai really was a 'problem solver' and told me about all the options that could help out with my laptop questions. Really appreciated it and recommend!

One of my airpods pro was broken so I made an appointment online for the same day. When I got to the store signed in and was seen in ~20min but that was in line with what I expected. It turns out it was broken due to a widespread issue and I got it replaced for free! It took about 40min and the store associates were so nice and professional the whole time. They explained to me what the different diagnostics were for and why they were required. I would definitely come back with any issue with my Apple products, I enjoyed this experience much more than at any Apple store I’ve been to.

They made a stressful experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible. Nobody wants to have to deal with data recovery. It's inherently a stressful situation to be in. These guys made it as pleasant as it possibly could be. Alberto the guy who actually does the repairs was so calm and easy to talk to and he saved my data (crashed iphone) when Apple phone support as well as in-store geniuses could not help me. The store also has a relaxing ambience. Calm lighting and decor. Really important for someone who is stressed already about potentially lost data. I hope I never need these guys again, but if a friend asked me who to go to I would recommend these guys without hesitation.

For the sake of being completely objective, I will mention that there was ONE thing that was slightly annoying about dealing with Mike's, but it is not their fault. The most annoying thing is driving in Manhattan traffic to get to them! So basically, the worst part of the whole process was getting to and from the store. Everything AT the store was great!

Great experience. I was a little uneasy to go to a 3rd party repair store because most warranties will nullify. However, this particular tech shop is certified, professional, and productive. The tech on site was able to diagnose and fix the issue with my mac within a matter of minutes. The staff was very friendly and also made small talk to pass the time even though it didn’t take very long. I would recommend frequenting this store if you have any tech needs. They also have great prices on products they have on hand such as chargers and adapters.

My 2018 MacBook Pro decided to turn into a brick. Apple couldn’t help me via phone support. They tend to use the term ‘genius’ very liberally. I thought for sure it was my logic board, or some other hardware issue. Mike’s called me back 3 days (before expected) saying they were able to determine it was a funky software issue. They could have easily taken advantage of me and I would have been none the wiser. $75 dollars. When I told them Apple erroneously stayed I wasn’t under warranty, the decided to wave the fee. Picked up my computer and ended up buying some more gear I needed for almost $400. Win-win. Highly recommend this place.

I missed my subway stop on my way there and ended up having the slightest window before having to go to work, and they were able to accommodate my needs super fast (even waiting for the line). I know nothing of computers and they recommended the best hard drive and software for me. Service charges are a bit pricey but I think it's well deserved. Great spot!
