Spanish Tavern of Mountainside

Just had a bridal event there and it exceeded all expectations. Service and wait staff were attentive and wonderful! Thank you for making my soon to be daughter-in-law’s dreams come true!

I just moved to NJ and looking to find good restaurants. We tried dining here today and absolutely loved the experience. Food was exceptional and service was great.

Great service and great food. Hector was our server and took great care of us. The pace was nice and unrushed which allowed us to enjoy the food and conversation. The octopus and garlic shrimp appetizer were great and we had the filet and surf and turf which we would also recommend.

The entrance was hard to see in the traffic and the staff in the outside section weren’t very helpful in pointing out where to enter the restaurant. The staff was busy talking with each other instead of paying attention to the customers which wasn’t the best first impression.

Wonderful time at the Spanish Tavern of Mountainside. the Parking situation on Arrival is a little disconcerting as it's Valet Parking but not a huge parking lot. I gather it's how they handle when its too many cars when it's crowded. Once we went inside, after a short wait, we were seated in a timely manner. As the place was not too crowded and we ordered shortly and the food was delivered quickly. I have to say the food was delicious from the paella to the salmon which I had. Cook perfectly and accompanied by potatoes and spinach. Just delightful. Overall a great service. Recommend it for all.

Spanish Tavern is one of our favorite restaurants in NJ. We have been coming here for years and the food / service never disappoints. The restaurant is very relaxing and the staff make you feel at home. We always bring our kids and they love the chick finger with fries. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Went to Spanish Tavern based off of my friends recommendation. Took my mother and mother in law here for Mothers Day this past Sunday and we all had a great time.

Service was great, super friendly and very attentive!
Enjoyed the Food! We had the salmon, paella, steak and veal.
Drinks were delicious from the wine to our cocktails!
The dessert we had was the perfect way to end our dinner! We had the Tiramisu, Dulce De Leche Cheesecake and the Lemon Sorbet.

Our mothers were very happy and satisfied celebrating their special day 😁 ... and so were we! We will definitely be back.

This is a wonderful setting for a romantic dinner date, a casual night out for drinks, or even a large gathering. The food is exquisite and the service is what you would expect from a high end restaurant, yet their prices are completely reasonable. Highly recommended if you enjoy seafood especially!

Amazing food and excellent service! Everything from the soup to the starters and entrees were exceptional! Fresh and flavorful. Will definitely go back. Just wished I saved room for dessert….next time!

I can honestly say I had no idea that such a hidden gem existed near me. Check out the pictures of some plates. The cuisine is absolutely fantastic. My 24 oz rib eye was juicy and cooked the appropriate medium like I requested. My wife's sea bass was a nice sized steak cooked nice and flaky. The pricing is a value. The service was top notch and felt like a manager was taking care of us. Rest of the staff is super attentive as well. Close when you need them and not intrusive. Overall we all raved about this place and I highly recommend it. Good place for a date. Don't mind the dates exterior.

We recently had our sons christening at Spanish Tavern of Mountainside and one word to describe it: amazing ! The food, service, attention to detail, availability for decor setup. Everything. Planning was simple and easy from the beginning thanks to Monica and Isaias. They made sure we saw everything through so that the party was exactly how we wanted. The amount of food and delicious drinks available in the party package was out of this world. Everyone is still talking about it a week later. The sangria was a 10/10 for everyone ! Can’t wait to have another event there and go back for dinner with the family.

Very popular place that does not take reservations so be prepared to wait. It will be worth it! The food is delicious and not your typical Spanish restaurant menu. Owner and Chef Jose will delight you with both traditional dishes like paella, and new take on classics like the lentil soup. The red sangria was devine. Overall a great experience. Good food, service and ambiance. Can't wait to go back.

We celebrated our daughter’s graduation with a nice dinner graduation party at this restaurant. The food was amazing and service was exceptional and none of my guests had any complaints. Only the cake was specially ordered somewhere else and we will definitely come back again.

Excellent food in a very nice atmosphere located on Rt 22 in Mountainside. We recently celebrated a birthday at Spanish Tavern with a large group and the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We ordered the filet mignon which was soft in texture and full of flavor. We also had the shrimp with filet mignon, the chicken Marsala and a few appetizers which were all excellent. The sangria was good too. Overall a very pleasant experience that we have enjoyed for many years. I would highly recommend visiting.

Great food! Always pass by and finally stopped and it did not disappoint. You start with bread and soup which was nice. Had the garlic shrimp, very tasty and the Canadian broiled salmon was very tasty! Had a couple drinks! Very good taste, but just a little on the expensive side for the amount given. Would definitely come back though! Staff was also pleasant and very attentive

This restaurant was amazing! The octopus shrimp appetizer smelled incredible and tasted just as good. The Bronzino and mahi mahi were delicious. And the pylea marinare a was fabulous!! Definitely recommend it and can't wait to go back!

Definitely get the Paella it is a must if you go. It’s the best I had by far. The steak was delicious but the lobster tail that came with it for the special was small so don’t be surprised. The valet attendants were just wonderful and just so friendly. The scallops with the lobster sauce was a bit too much for my taste. The environment is great as well.

Serves authentic Spanish food, the people in our party enjoyed the food. Some did wish the food was more spicy or zesty.
