These beautiful costumes are much better than those on display at MET this year! The green puff sleeve design really impressed me! I love green so much, green is the best color! I really wish I could wear this dress, it’s so beautiful!

It's a tradition of mine to visit the F.I.T. Museum as a reward for a job well-done after I sit a WSET Diploma exam at the International Wine Center. Yesterday I was thrilled to experience their latest exhibit Food & Fashion. I felt that it was created just for me, and I even learned about a new vegan leather which is made from grapes! 🍇 🍷🍇🍷🍇

Interesting place to visit for free. If you are into fashion it's cute.

Free! A visit to this museum is a no-brainer. History buffs and fashion folks alike would both enjoy this museum. I would say if you're not reading and listening to all the exhibits, you can breeze through in an hour. Right now, it's showing 50 Year of Hip Hop. A great walk down memory lane for those that lived through some of these fun (and sometimes tragic) trends.

I attended the Fresh Fly Fabulous 50yrs of Hip Hop Style exhibit. AMAZING and very well curated!!! Will definitely go again! Describing this exhibit in words is an understatement. Just go and support Black fashion!

This is FIT's fashion design and construction museum in Chelsea. It's open on weekends (starting on Thurs), and has free entry.

The exhibits vary and change often.

Re: May exhibit
The museum is tastefully curated with designers through the ages. They even have Anne Lowe and one of her debutante ball gowns on display! She designed dresses for *First Lady Jackie O Kennedy* and other socialites, and it's easy to see why. See the stunning white gown embellished with white appliques in the pictures attached.

The environment is low-lit and has cool temperatures to preserve the integrity of the materials. *Flash photography is also prohibited for this reason.*

Re: May exhibit
Enjoy the intricate details, flounces, sequins, and drapery constructed meticulously from fine fabrics and more modern materials like denim. The garments are accompanied by placards with info about the designers and their sensibilities.

You can easily spend about 20 mins (to an hour, depending on the exhibit) viewing the 2 galleries (even more if you're a design aficionado!). The museum is situated on Fashion Institute of Technology's college campus, a corner of Chelsea with stylish flair.

No luggage, food, beverages, videos, or flash photography allowed.

The Fashion Institute of Technology public space is split in to 2 sections. There is a museum at the Goodman Center and across the street, there is an Art and Design Gallery at the Pomerantz Center Main Lobby.

The Art and Design Gallery features art pieces from students that are graduating or close to graduation. These show a very modern take on the world of Art and I highly recommend. It's like going in to the contemporary art museum and seeing the cutting edge of what students today are thinking. Very unique and beautiful pieces.

On the flip side the museum instead showcases the history of fashion throughout the years. This is a dimly lit space that makes picking out find colors and detail very difficult.

Both are definitely worth a visit considering they're both FREE.

A really interesting exhibition- a juxtaposition of food and fashion. So many interesting angles covered reaching back through time and across the globe. And a nice length to view too. Well worth seeing.

They did a great job of curating Hip Hop fashion. The museum is small but it was organized and free. I highly recommend this exhibition. It’s on until May 2023

Two intetesting exhibits. Beautiful outfits from Dior and Balenciaga. You could compare outfits between them. And wonderful shoes from all the best designers in the world! It is like a fairy tale you are in. Some shoes are from 18 century. And they still look good! Also it has the whole section of sneakers from famous designers. Also there are baby shoes. You just cant get enough of that exhibit.

Always come back for more inspiration. The FIT Museum is a place where you can get inspired if you are a creative person; it also contains lots of information about our history if you are interested in learning and exploring. This small museum has two floors, the main floor is usually vintage collections, and the basement is usually where extensive Designer exhibits are.

The museum entrance is free, and it is always quiet and not crowded. They always have great presentations, and the staff is very respectful. Please ask before taking pictures as in some exhibits it is not allowed.

One of the most beautiful and important museums of Manhattan. The exhibitions at FIT are stunning. The museum has easy access to the public in addition it has bathrooms that are handicap accessible. The entrance to the museum is free. The building has several floors full of rooms embracing the beauty of fashion from different eras. Many perspectives of design and designing. Great place to get inspired and get a feeling of what it is, it was, and will be in fashion.

Nice small museum and not crowded. Interesting exhibits with literal and recorded commentary. Loved the hip-hop feature downstairs. Bonus that I wasn't expecting.

Great little free museum at the fashion institute of technology at 27th and 7th. Currently they have a nice display of Rose themed dresses going back to the 1700s along with some beautiful hats. It may be kind of small but considering it's free it's pretty awesome. I would say there was probably about 60 70 different dresses and probably a few dozen hats. If you appreciate fashion of any kind or you have someone in your life that appreciates fashion bring them here.
