New Museum

I had a lovely time visiting the Judy Chicago exhibit. The range of works was stunning, as was the view from the top of the Museum. The staff were kind and helpful, and I felt truly immersed in the art. I was able to see all the museum had to offer and appreciate the works in a few hours. A great place to go for an spur of the moment trip, and if you enjoy contemporary art.

Visiting the New Museum was AMAZING! This contemporary art haven in Manhattan impressed me not only with its stunning architecture but also with its commitment to showcasing emerging artists. The Sky Room on the 7th floor offers breathtaking views of the city which is perfect for pictures with cityscapes in the background. Love love love! Definitely worth the visit.

The Judy Chicago exhibit was beyond words, but a good start would be bold, provocative and empowering. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The views of NY from the top of the building are amazing!

Really cute museum! Great views of lower Manhattan, too. Free for students from certain colleges, inexpensive for everyone else. They had really interesting art pieces that actually had meaning. I enjoyed my trip.

An architecturally striking building with amazing views of New York from the rooftop patio. The exhibitions were also very well curated and (in some cases) spanned multiple floors.

Very interesting contemporary art museum with constantly rotating exhibitions highlighting a variety of artists and perspectives. Highlights include some live events such as a live organ performance while I was there. They also have a beautiful outdoor deck on the top floor with surround views of the city.

The museum is relatively small and can be toured in 1 hour. The rooftop view is pretty good and the “My Beating Heart” exhibit was very interesting.

Not really my type of art—I think I'm just not into modern art, but it's a cool building with colourful bathrooms. The view from the top floor is pretty nice too.

The New Museum"s exhibitions and programming has gotten so good over the last few years. Makes it worthwhile to be a member and see every new show. Currently there are 2 must-sees: Pepon Osorio (2nd fl) and Mire Lee (5th fl), and a wall piece by Wynnie Mynerva in the lobby.

Always surprising shows by interesting emerging and established artists from all over the world. Never disappointing! Great shop. What happened to the café?

Beautiful modern museum with unique shows / events on art and creativity. It was amazing to attend the Judy Chicago exhibit closing panel discussion and hear the artists' commentary! Fun gift shop too.

New Museum is awesome! It has great exhibitions and very greatly done design shop with local design, great books and more. The only thing I wanted to see and it was closed was the sky room with the view, they told us it will be open the following day, but it was not.

Visited here to observe the Faith Ringgold exhibit. The flow of people into the venue was organized and controlled. We really loved the exhibition! We did not know that Faith had such an extensive collection of extraordinary art. We were pleased that we were able to experience her creativity.

Just saw the Wangechi Mutu show before it closed and was truly inspired by the class of contemporary art available at New Museum. As an educator, artist, and student, I love the work they do. Same when I saw the Nari Ward show, the faith Ringgold show, or any of their triennials! Such great place to view art of zeitgeist!

The wangechi mutu - retrospective is absolutely stunning. Well curated and beautifully organized. Her powerful work has got it's well deserved spotlight in this exhibition.

Good space, well designed, and past time to recognize Judy Chicago.

Fantastic modern art. The exhibits were conceptual and many spoke to various social issues. The seventh floor outdoor space was fabulous as well. I really enjoyed the variety in terms of styles of art as well as various mediums. One of the highlights for me was the interactive walk through exhibit currently on the third floor. Be quick when going through it though - while it’s a cool place for selfies, each space is very small and you have to move through pretty quickly as it’s so popular. I say this because, unfortunately, the staff had to intervene and seemed annoyed at some of the hold ups caused by people stopping to take photos. The only downside to this museum in my opinion is the fact that it’s a bit disjointed in its layout - there is no clear way to move through the various spaces and it is easy to miss things. It is smaller than many other museums in Manhattan but that’s something I personally enjoyed. Overall, a cool experience.

Fantastic museum. The skyroom was a great photo op and got our favorite photo of the trip up there. Judy Chicago exhibit was powerful and great for my 14 yo daughter to see. Loved it all
