Parked at visitor’s center which had no entrance fee. Hiking was easy from my perspective. I’m in shape in early 40s. My sister is not in shape and found it a little strenuous as it is hilly. I was surprised how much sun there was. Patches of trees but also meadows. The land was quite varied. We only lasted two hours before my sister gave out so not sure what the rest looked like but what we saw was well maintained and a fun hike.

This place is super cool! Tons of different scenery and the railroad tracks along the trail are just amazing I wish I could have got a shot with the train coming.
You can purchase your sticker and they have a museum inside I never knew about along with a ton of information. Highly recommend checking this out! I can’t wait to come back when everything is blooming to see how different it looks.

Stunning! And so close to home! Absolutely love this area. We hiked for a good 3 hours and barely scratched the surface. (P.s. Keep in mind I have 2 kids, 3 if you count my husband 😝). So there were a few stops. 😉
Highly recommend!

Love the forest and always have a great time there. Lots of different activities to partake in including hiking, camping, mountain biking, and horseback riding. There is a lot of history on the property as well especially with Old World right there. Recommend for day trip or a few days if camping.

Lovely state park for hiking. Keep in mind some trails may require you walk on marked paths across roads or private property that the owners granted permission for hiking across.
Terrain varies from prairie to forests. You can enjoy quite a long hike with great views.

Beautiful trails with variations on terrain. Nice spot for the novice or the expert. Just minutes from Eagle and Palmyra as breakfast, lunch, or dinner options.

Outstanding visitor information, including hiking/camping, local wildlife, area history, and geology of the Kettle Moraine features left by the Ice Age.

The Kettle Moraine features and wildlife are lovingly detailed and explained by video and static displays in a free museum here. There is also a gift shop, with many inexpensive mementos and books about the area.
Parking is ample in the attached lot. No pets allowed.

This is also a spot to access the Glacial Drumlin State Trail
(Pets must be on a short leash; Bicyclists and skaters need a State Trail Pass)

Took 2 of my 11 year old nephews, 1 of whom is autistic. What an amazing weekend! Hiking, swimming, the offered "scavenger hunt" for the kids. And one of the only campground left that offer first come, first serve sites. After a grueling hunt for a campground on a late Friday night we stumbled upon this place by divine accident! Will definitely visit many more times to come!!

Stayed at the pinewood campgrounds. Had an absolutely beautiful camp site. The park is well maintained with a clean, functional shower house.
The swimming lake is incredibly clean and a joy to swim in. The picnic grass area before the swimming lake has plenty of trees for shade. There is a mix of picnic tables and open areas to spread out a blanket.
There was a bit of confusion about where to dump grey water.
I will be visiting again!

Excellent trails for biking and hiking and even have a horseback trail and campground. Some logging going on in 2019 to help the hardwoods survive the Pine trees. If you like hilly trails, this place is the best in Southeast Wisconsin

The real Wisconsin. This is where the best cross-country ski trails are in Southeastern Wisconsin. Unfortunately due to climate change there's a very little open opportunity to ski anymore. When we visited it at the end of January there was a great snow base, but unfortunately the snow was all sticky and melty.

A great hike and the trails were pretty well marked. But my gps said it was 5.6 miles which was nearly a mile longer than advertised.
