UPDATE: ADDED PHOTOS from a second visit 10/2021. I brought my family (kids -both vegan & non-vegan). We tried most of the menu- there was nothing to complain about! BTW-Please don’t let the neg reviews / comments regarding the ‘confusing name/ food being served’ get you, the menu does sort out the differences between the Vegan food and the carnivore food. If people are looking to make changes and help support animal free diets, this is probably the next best step in getting others on board. One in my party agreed to go since there were alternatives to vegan options on the menu. We were able to go out, eat as a family (other than all vegans getting the same one dry vegan burger option at restaurants near us - but no dairy free cheese, no egg free mayo- sometimes cant even have the roll! or a salad option minus the cheese/ dressing but paying full price/ no adjustments, as if you were given all of these things! Going out with our mixed (vegans and omnis) family is a challenge to satisfy everyone. This place broke the mold by offering great variety, great food for all! Even the non-vegan family member wanted to try our food after seeing our dishes and plans to come back for ‘Vegan Cuisine’ next time.
PROGRESS! **Word to the owner; If you’d like to stop most of the vegan outcry over the confusion/meat/ upcharge, FLIP the menu, make the dish descriptions all VEGAN and priced accordingly, then note the omni options under that. Keeping the name wont be so challenging.**
9/2021 Inside the New Hope Ferry Market, theres limited counter seating just a few steps away as well as outdoor seating. We were approached with an explanation of the menu- serving meat/ dairy products as well as vegan options for an up-charge. ($3-$5 per item) making this still a great price for vegan dishes. Mostly everything on the Menu can be made Vegan/Veg or Carnivore. This can be an great place for friends/family with different dietary likes/needs! We had the shroom sandwich ($12) and lemon fries ($6). 5 stars on the food. 5 on the counter person too. limited beverages ( $5 juice or $3 water) the packaging-everything in a to-go style. All in all, I would definitely travel the 45 mins back to this location. The food we tried was very good, the staff was friendly, a clean establishment and the location is beautiful. The price for the quality is very decent as well. Delicous, Appealing, Creative, Fresh Food! Sandwiches, Pineapple rice bowl, Loaded fries- every thing was very good.

If you are looking for superb ingredients, good customer service, and the ability to support a local mom and pop shop the vegan butcher is the place to be! The family is known for their devotion to a health-conscious menu and they’re fresh ingredients go a long way in adding value to the flavor profile. I’ve eaten several times and never been disappointed. I particularly like the way they pickle their onions. I wish this family run business nothing but success 😊Long live THE VEGAN BUTCHER!

Remnants of truffle fries with plant-based cheese. Sooo good. Can't wait to come back another time and try other menu items. A++ service too!

Lots of haters on here complaining about them offering non vegan items. Relax, giving bad reviews based on your hatred of them offering non vegan is no good for the vegan offerings, we have so few options already. The prices are very appropriate too.

Went with a vegan friend and she loved the choice. I am a meat-eating, egg-loving non vegan and also enjoyed the choices, all interchangeable with meat and vegan products. Burgers, rice bowls and sandwiches, all a bit different and nicely spicy. Great stuff drinks too, fruity combos that didn't make you feel like you were drinking a mountain of sugar.

I got lucky and found this place while exploring New Hope. I ate their Báhn Mì and truffle fries and it was off the charts good. The guy working there was about to close up, but he was kind enough to hook me up with a meal and he was out. I think even a non-vegan would enjoy the Van Butcher.

The vegan Bahn mi was amazing. Excellent customer service. Owner was very friendly and helpful, and personally took our order and made sure it was made to perfection. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

This place is not good… it’s great. Very fresh ingredients and outstanding food. Anyone who goes there can’t complain about a thing. From the perfectly balance breakfast sandwich to THE BEST BAHN MI (vegan) to the truffle fries, this is a hit. If you don’t like the name, get over it. The food is great. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Good menu, but the food is not as flavourful as I’d hoped. The cashier was very friendly.
