Very good breakfast, but not a fan of the bacon it's to over cooked but excellent Prime rib , best around Defiance. You only get one side which is the down side. Most people like a salad and potatoes with their meat without a upcharge. They also have good service. This is a hidden gem and very close to defiance. Worth the drive outside of town. Homemade food and large breakfasts. Prices are good on the breakfast. They have a bar which is great when dining out. I'm picky about my food. I like homemade not frozen, so I was impressed. Wish I would have found the place sooner for breakfast. They do take reservations and can seat a large group.

Great experience! Enjoyed a great meal and the wait staff was also wonderful.
Their signature onion rings are the perfect start meal and the prices are very reasonable.

Steak was PERFECT, sides were great. Liver was fully cooked and wonderful. Shrimp cocktail has a sauce to match ANY high end place. Homemade salad dressings! A HIDDEN GEM! worth finding...

We came here after receiving recommendations from many of the locals. We thoroughly impressed by the staff who went out of our way to make us feel comfortable. Food was good and fairly priced.

The omelette made my taste buds wake up and shout. Delicious! My husband's fried potatoes were drenched in the mouthwatering sausage gravy. The staff were accommodating making it just they we wanted and stellar service! We can't wait to go back for breakfast!

My brother and I were driving from Fort Wayne to Detroit Airport to make it back home to NJ after a family funeral, and we stopped for coffee at the Jewell. The women working in Jewell could not have been more kind and friendly to us! The place is homey, quiet, warm and inviting- all the best things about a small town restaurant! We could not be happier with our coffee and for stumbling across such a gem on our drive. We will be back next time we drive through!!

Took my mom out for her birthday and they usually don't fix prime rib on that day but I called in and they did and we had an excellent time with me my mom and my brother-in-law and she was so happy thank you Jewel Cafe

Great lunch with classmates. Enjoyable every time we do it. Kelly did a good job of getting our food out quick hot and tasty.

What a pleasant surprise! Found this place on Yelp passing through town and it had 5 stars but was in the middle of no where. It was delicious! I got the perch special. The staff and customers were so friendly and someone even paid for my meal! Highly recommend this place.

Nice place for a meal. Busy night but still felt relaxed and staff were very attentive to our table. Prime rib and burger were very good options for my wife and I.

We celebrated our 44th anniversary

Met some classmates there for lunch. Can't believe its been 50 years! There were 18 of us and they were very accommodating. I tried the fried bologna sandwich and it was excellent!

Go to place for extended family meals. Good food and pleasant service.

Went with my dad and sister. I had the fried chicken Sandwich and fries. It had that home cooked feeling to it. Service was great. I would recommend it to anyone traveling through the area

This place is probably the cheapest place I've been in a long time, and I mean that in the best way possible. You get big portions and save money, leaving full and satisfied every time. The server was very friendly, and felt more like a friend than just a server. You feel like you're a part of a family here, so in conclusion this place is just... Perfect

Excellent local Cafe with family type American dishes. Employees are friendly & very attentive to your needs! We had a wonderful experience there as we dined inside. Clean & ready always to serve a good time. There is a bar there where alcohol can be requested - in case you need to know...Kudos!

The wait time was pretty long, but I understand why. It seems as though folks have gotten used to their universal basic income and have lost the desire to actually work. Having said that, our waitress was phenomenal! Even though they were incredibly short staffed, she did a great job maintaining a high level of professionalism, encountered every guest with a warm smile, and just did an overall fantastic job.
The food was great, and even if I had to wait again in the future, I will definitely be a returning customer! Great job!!

Family of four, and we all ordered something different.
To start, the salad and cold sides came out incredibly fast and were great.
Then the entrees came out, and oh my goodness, they were all amazing. The children's cheeseburger was cooked perfectly, the hamburger steak was so good I'm pretty sure I caught my 12yo trying to lick the plate, the ribeye was so good my husband didn't speak until his plate was empty, and my pasta was amazing. I asked the waitress (nicest woman I've ever met, and so much fun) what she'd recommend, so I ended up with steak and Alfredo and it is the best I've ever had. Drinks never got too low, and literally every employee we encountered was genuinely nice. We will definitely be coming back, and probably with a reservation next time. I'd give all of the stars if I could.

It's the second time I ate there. The food is just like it was home made. Service great, food got it quickly, food was great and the cost was cheap. One of the best mom and pop places I've ever eaten at. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
