Great mid century diner right in the heart of Socorro! Awesome food, great staff, simple no frills hearty diner food that’ll hit the spot and not annihilate the wallet. Absolutely love the cool sign and original interior.

When I’m in town I am sure to go back. Breakfast burrito was just right. Pancakes on another day, also very good. I’ll be back.

Consistently average and a fairly large menu with all-day breakfast. Large portions for a reasonable price and usually good prompt service. Few restaurants are located in, Socorro, which makes the El Camino a good choice.

Very solid and cheap unpretentious diner food with all day breakfast
I'm from Boston, and this place has really grown on me through about 2 dozen visits over the 5 weeks I've spent in Socorro over the past 2 years. It's not the best food or service, but there's just something about this place that I love. I would definitely say their breakfast items (served all day) are the best - in particular the breakfast burrito, the southwest omelette, and the pancakes, which are DELICIOUS and are the best pancakes I've ever had. The portion sizes are extremely generous and I'm always full when I leave. The service is usually pretty good and pretty dang fast as long as it's not too crowded, but there have been a few times when I haven't been impressed. I've had a handful of items I'm not a fan of on the menu but I really can't complain for something this affordable. Do not get their margarita. Also I would highly recommend substituting their beans for hashbrowns or more rice, they just don't taste good. Easily one of the top 3 best places in Socorro.

I love the Nacho Grande appetiser. A huge portion can easily be shared between 2 to 3 persons.

I stopped here a while back otw to Tucson and forgot to leave a review. Best place I've been to in quite a long time. Service, amazing. Food, amazing. Cooks and all employees, amazing. The other people eating around me, amazing. Everyone was so nice. They didn't nickel and dime me for a few extra tortillas, and I love the ambiance. Reminds me of when I was young. Please never remodel! I'm actually planning a trip sometime in the next year literally just to come back here. Thanks yall for doing what you do!

It was okay but the place was packed and lacked organization. Seemed like the waitresses were doing their best despite being short staffed. Also, the special burger steak was slightly raw which caused me a severe stomach ache. All n all.. I’d go back to the ElCamino simply because it’s been a Socorro staple for decades upon decades. I still love them.

We stopped in 3 minutes before closing. When we asked if we could get dinner they enthusiastically welcomed us. Our dinners and appetizers where amazingly tasty. And the service was superb. The owner came out and talked to us and to make sure we were happy. One of the standout items was the homemade green chile corn chowder. Made with fresh local green chiles from Lemitar. This was one of the most surprisingly pleasant and tasty dining experiences in recent memory! Service and food off the charts great!

Let’s start with the decor: it hasn’t been updated since the 70s. Now that that is out of the way, the food was outstanding! Great treasure of a place.

It's so hard to find such a retro diner still in fabulous condition like this place. It takes you back in time. The food and service were really good. We loved it

Loved this old school diner. Seat yourself at a table or the counter, hand written tickets, pay at the register.
Friendly fast service with a huge menu. Something for everyone. Some would call this mid century architecture and decor, I just think it hasn't changed much since the 60s.

What can I say, comfort food.... Reminded me of younger days it's an old-time dinner with an old-time flare. Our waitress was great! I wish I could remember her name. We had a great talk about Radio Shack. You know who you are! Thank you, you made it even better. I am sharing my experiences with everyone😊

We stoped here on our way to Santa Fe. I Really liked the place , big tables to sit all the family together. I had the 2 burritos to share with my mom, both of us ended up very satisfied. Dad got the salad and couldn’t finish it, very big plate :)
Sisters got avocado and toast and French toast and said it was really good.

So happy we stopped here! We arrived at 8:30 pm and the place was reasonably busy. Excellent service, generous portions at very reasonable prices. The house made clam chowder was fantastic. The chef salad was huge and fresh. The fajitas were delicious although the steak was a little on the tough side.

Excellent chile rellenos and green chile, friendly waitresses, and super cool, clean retro vibe. But it's the real deal retro. My new favorite spot.

Friendly atmosphere, classic decor. Lots of menu items, from new mexican to American choices. Big servings. Staff is friendly and amazing how the cooking staff can maintain a busy weekend. Come in relaxed, don't expect too much of staff as they are busy, and you'll enjoy focusing on the food.
