There are two main, connected, trails; a small grass covered 'bluebird trail' and a longer one that leads into the woods. The longer trail is a nice respite from the city and the shorter is definitely designed with children in mind. If you walk the shorter loop, it is easy to hop onto the longer trail.

The parking lot is immediately north of the roundabout that has Mt. Zion church. It is the second roundabout east of 15. If you come near sunset, you can see the sun lower over Bull Run Mountain. Even the parking lot would be a nice place to unwind for a moment. There is a little library in the parking lot, so a nice place to read a book, take a book, or leave a book.

Speaking of libraries, the smaller bluebird trail has a 'story trail' from the Loudoun County library. There are small signs with pages from a children's story book placed about every 30 feet along the trail. They seem to change them with some frequency, and the changing of the seasons seems to be a theme of the books they select.

I don't know how far north the larger trail goes. I have only walked about 30 minutes with a toddler, but there is a charming little creek and quite a bit of wildlife. It doesn't take long before the sounds of 50 are extinguished and the tranquility of a trail established.

Throughout the fall and spring, there is a bit of mud, but nothing unmanageable in sneakers.

This is a dog friendly trail: plenty to sniff and not many thorns.

My photos were taken in February or early march---it is much greener during the summer.

Small park. Well maintained. Be careful when you go into woods. Evening sunset overlooking the mountains from parking lot is the best . Can just come and park and enjoy sunset 🌅

This is an amazing park that packs so much into such a small area! The views of the blue ridge are spectacular, the meadow walks are amazing, and the sense of solitude beyond words!

Located right next to the roundabout on Gilbert Corner, this is a great place for a nice stroll or a hike. Please note, there is a limited parking space.

Great place to take a short hike (or long) and get some fresh air. Very pretty and not rough terrain so good to do with kids.

The actual park area is small with few car parking spots but then there was trails which take you deep inside the forests. There are markings on the trail. It’s located near a quiet residential neighbourhood on the main road that goes towards Dulles.

This is a great place for a walk in the park. Don't come looking for amenities - you'll be disappointed. The park has well-maintained trails with a nice variety of plants and animals. The trails cover a range of terrain, but nothing is too difficult. The trail is wide and mowed regularly. There is also ample shade, so even on hot sunny days, the walk is manageable.

Another nice thing is that the park is very close to Gilbert's Corner, so on weekends you can swing by the vendors there for a bite to eat or some fresh fruits and vegetables to take with you.

This is exactly the type of park that I like: a hiking park. It appears well maintained and the grass on the trails is kept low. Unfortunately, I came on a day that it was slightly muddy. But the trails are beautiful and carve through lovely fields and forests. It's amazing how much trail they can pack into a relatively small area. It seems small on the map but it felt spacious as I was walking through it.

What a treasure! The whole family went for a walk here, including the grandchildren. We enjoyed the bird nest boxes, the deer trails, the trees and shrubs, and the creeks. My granddaughter had great fun identifying the birds with her binoculars and bird book. It was a perfect place to socially distance on a sunny Saturday.

Amazing little place. There is a very short loop most ppl probably do. Make the right or left into the woods depending which way you started. Go over the creek and there is a amazing other set of trails that’s are about a mile long. Watching the subset here is amazing and you will get the best firefly show you have ever seen after that.

This was a great afternoon family walk. Wide, mostly grass trail. Worked for us to even bring the stroller. Had no idea that much land was there!

I love coming here. Small little spot with easy parking. Not frequented by many people, usually just one other car there when I'm there.

Nice new bridge built by a future Eagle Scout from Troop 2012 helps keep feet out of the water... unless you want them in the stream.
