Coastal Academy (TK-8)

Great Charter school in North County San Diego, the teachers are great and my daughter has been attending it for quite some time and loves it. The school is pretty new, only over 10 years old and has lots of resources. Just one minus as they got rid of their library to make more space for classes, otherwise great school.

This school is a blessing. The kids are amazing citizens. It has a school culture like no other and my two children are very happy with their teachers. There are so many options to allow flexibility within their learning styles. Perfect for our family.

Coastal Academy is our best option for TK-8th grade. The campus is very nice and spacious but more importantly, the staff is exceptional. Looking for options for your child who doesn't quite fit into the typical public school mold? This is it. Customize the education your child needs with on campus or homeschool options. Hands down the best school in North County, we are sad to be graduating. On to Classical Academy High!

We love Coastal Academy! We have been here since kindergarten and love it. The quality of kids that attend here are amazing. We really appreciate the character building they place in their children. We love the flexibility and classes offered.

Sad to leave this school for CAHS next year..... This is the best. Period.

Update: 5 years later, this place is still great. Amazing, supportive culture for both student and employee alike. This school gave me a great education before, but now it has given me one of the best first jobs anyone can ask for. Thanks Coastal!

This is a great school! All 3 of our kids attend and have for several years and they all love it. My wife and I also love the teachers and their hybrid homeschool program.

Coastal is a good choice for a charter school in this area. This is our 3rd year. Although we only have 1 child attending now, as we opted for private school for the older 2 starting this year, we would definitely recommend the school. Of course, it’s not for the faint of heart. You DO have to teach. The environment is safe and clean. The kids are polite, they offer art and music, and they have a cute art show. You do, on occasion, run into a kid who introduces your child to “words” you don’t approve of, so it’s not an unrealistically sheltered environment, but it’s better than most when dealing with a public institution. A new curriculum was recently adopted, which was good because the old one was outdated, but we personally did not find the new choice to be a good fit for our older kiddos. Overall, this is a good school choice, as long as you do your job as a parent and teach your child.

Why doesn't no one EVER reply to emails asking for new enrolling student moving from other states? No one picks up phone whenever we call either.
