During girls weekend in Whitewater, we stumbled upon this adorable store. Very cool building and interior, huge selection, every topic/genre available with great prices. Small gift jewelry pieces were also throughout and all very cute. Shop owner -Karen, was so kind and helpful. She talked to us about the store for a while and was super nice and genuine! Amazing store and found some very cool books. 100/10 recommend checking it out!

Friendly staff. Nice selection of used books. The store is located in an old bank building, so it lots of charm. Great place!

Adorable little bookstore with used and new books. They promote local authors and artisans, have book groups, and their mystery section is in an old bank vault! Owner is also an AMAZING jewelry maker. Love.

Such a cute store! Love all of the local artwork, handmade jewelry, great classic book selection! I wish I remember the lady's name at the front desk she was so genuine about the place and truly was helpful! Will visit again for sure!

I happened to walk by here today, visiting this store for the first time ever, and it was the highlight of my day.

The building used to be a bank up until the late 90s, then sat vacant for a while before becoming a book shop, and they use the vault for crime/mystery related authors.

They had a $1.00 book cart outside, and I found a whole Anatomy and Physiology Textbook on the rack.

Awesome investment.

20/10 Highly Reccomend

I am coming back here every chance I get!

I think the best part aside from the vault was the little fact sheet that was taped to a shelf. I posted a pic of it and some of the stained glass art they had in the window, as well as other pieces by local artists.

Great book selection, a friendly store owner who dabbles in watch and small jewelry repairs, fantastic local artists (stained glass, jewelry, honey), locally made kombucha and great body products including this nourishing golden milk mix. Perfect way to spend a few hours!

I visited this place for the first time recently when I was passing through Whitewater, and I immediately fell in love with it. There was a very good selection of books, including books from local authors. I also noticed quite a few other items from local artists that would make nice gifts. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful. The place had that nice, cozy environment that you can find only in an independent bookstore, but the old bank vault was also very quirky and interesting. I recommend the Book Teller highly for anyone in the Whitewater area.

Very friendly non-pushy woman greeted us at the door and asked about any specific interests. Gave us a 15 second overview and let us browse. Quirky old bank with bulletproof glass and a cool vault filled with books and a padded bench to sit and read. Comfy chairs in several places. The store atmosphere is quiet and tailored to sitting and reading as you browse books. Hard backs $5 with local art, coffee table books, photographs and a good selection of titles. We bought five books and enjoyed our time there after breakfast at Jessica’s just up the street.

I absolutely love this bookstore. It had a very genuine vibe. I found some great books and the price was a good deal. I will definitely be going back. There aren't many bookstores where I live so I feel lucky to have found this one.

I'm not much of a shopper and rarely step into a store, particularly when I'm on vacation. But I do like to check out a bookstore, and I'm so glad I visited the Book Teller.

The merchandise is equal parts books and products from local artists (and local beekeepers and Kombucha brewers!).I purchased a used book that I'd been wanting (for $2!), a jar of local honey, and spent some time speaking with the charming owner about the history of the building.

It's a former bank, and the mystery section is located in the bank vault. Look a little closer at a counter where books are displayed - that's bullet proof glass and gun portals from another era.

The Book Teller is definitely worth a visit, even if you're not much of a shopper - but if you are a shopper, you will love the handmade jewelry and textile products found here at very reasonable prices.

I love this place! High-quality, locally-crafted goods, used books at a great price, run by an awesome woman whose hand-made jewelry is for sale...all housed in an old bank (hence the name). The murder mysteries are in the vault. Fun experience, great finds.

This bookstore is sort of a hidden gem, search "Whitewater WI bookstore" and the campus bookstore pops up instead. That's a shame, because this place is super cool. There is a large metal vault in the back that is now filled with books. There's the blend of books you would expect from a used bookstore, as well as some local arts and crafts. If you're downtown and looking to find some used books or kill some time, check it out,

Gem of a place, comfortable and full of interest. I came away with a pile of children's books from some of my favorite authors and some who I'd never heard of before. Great prices and super friendly. I will make a point to get here anytime I'm in Whitewater.
