Stars Montessori Academy

Love this school and the staff so much! This was the first school my daughter attended and she did not have an easy time. The staff reassured me and showed her so much love, and she settled into the program easily. She now loves going and is ready every morning to go to school. The place is so clean and they are always doing fun activities with the kids. They just recently had a bubble/foam party, the police came and read to the kids, they had someone bring in reptiles, and so much more. 10/10 recommend this school!

We have had such a wonderful experience at Stars and are so glad to have had our daughters' first school experience here. The toddler room teachers and entire staff are so wonderful, patient, and caring. We were really unsure as to how our daughter would handle being away from family, but she adjusted relatively quickly and constantly talks about how much she loves school - and circle time!

Stars Montessori is an amazing Montessori school! Our son has blossomed and grown so much in his time there. The teachers (Ms. Crystal and Ms. Andrea) he has had were great educators and patient with the children there. Ms. Pennie and Ms. Susan are both amazing at keeping the school running smoothly. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough good things about Stars Montessori. Both our kids went there. For parents who are just starting to learn about preschools, the most important things are 1) Your child's teacher, 2) The school's leadership. At Stars our kids always had great teachers and we always wanted to follow where Ms. Pennie was taking her school. Thank you Stars!

I found this daycare based on the reviews on yelp and google when I was in desperate need of child care for my then 18 month old son, as we had just moved to the area and were having difficulty finding a place for him before I began my new job.

Luckily, a spot was soon to open, and we were able to enroll him at Stars within a month. Tor has loved being a part of the family there and his incredible teachers, especially Ms. Jackie and Ms Amber, have helped him bloom! His language skills have continued to explode and his teachers have been teaching him both Spanish and sign language as well. They've also patiently helped him develop better sharing skills. He loves going to school, and we are so grateful for the great care he receives from his teachers and the lovely and highly organized admin, Pennie and Susan, who greet us each day.

Our son has grown leaps and bounds since attending STARS from 18 months old to now at 3.5 years old. When our son began his time there, he barely spoke a few works aside from 'mama' and 'dada' and within a few months, his language skills were off the charts that our pediatrician made a comment of how impressed she was. STARS also puts a great deal of thought, resources and talent into creating safe, nurturing spaces for the kids to learn and expand their understanding of themselves and the world. We especially appreciated the school's communication practices from their weekly emails, to updates about your kids and the school through their easy-to-use app, and even to select calls from the staff if there was an accident or challenge that day - they don't cut corners and make sure parents have all the information. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a great Montessori education and nurturing place to grow and learn!

This was my son’s first daycare experience and it couldn’t have been better. His transition into daycare wasn’t without crying, but his teacher, assistants, and everyone who helped were so patient and caring. As a first time mom, everyone was very reassuring and supportive as we navigated the nuances of starting daycare.

My son really grew and thrived in the Montessori environment and I am sad to be moving away from the area! I would recommend Stars Montessori Academy to anyone looking for a caring learning environment that focuses on the principles of Montessori.

Our daughter has been in the Montessori system since she was 4mo old. This was her second school and we couldn't have asked for a better situation, school, and family of like minded educators and mentors for our daughter. Ms. Penny was engaging and sympathetic to the transition process that our daughter had never experienced. All educators were wonderful and the perfect fit. Our daughter continued to grow and outpace her non-Montessori peers. The price, location, and school hours worked perfectly for us during the transition, and having lunch available made it easier to introduce new foods and selfishly not have to prepare it beforehand. Sadly we had to change to a Montessori school closer to where we worked and lived. We will be forever grateful for Stars and the team!

I can't recommend this school enough! My daughter has gone there since she was a baby (they used to have an infant program and my only complaint is that they don't have it anymore!). We absolutely love the staff! The education my daughter has received there is incredible. One thing I really love is how respectful they are of the children. The teachers are all so kind and well-mannered with them and treat them like people not just kids. As soon as we can, our son will be starting there as well. We feel so lucky to have found stars!

My husband and I were truly impressed by this school upon first visiting to interview schools for my son to attend. My son has been in daycare since he was 4 months old but we knew we wanted him to attend a Montessori school since before he was born. I love the way they teach practical life skills and really prepare children to learn in their own way. The first 5 years are very important for brain and habit development in children and we wanted to make sure these formative years were being led by great teachers. We had visited 3 schools before Stars and were feeling like it was a lost cause. Finally we found Stars and when I walked in my first impression was WOW how clean and put together! Miss Pennie gave me a tour and all of the classrooms looked beautiful and the teachers and students were smiling and happy. (not the case at any of the other places I visited!) Miss Pennie, the director was so knowledgeable about the Montessori method and very organized, which is something that is important to me. My son was 12 months at the time so I signed him up and was waiting for him to turn 18 months to start the school. We noticed after only a week at Stars that he had already made leaps and bounds in his development. He had been picking up more vocabulary and was becoming so helpful around the house. He had even become more independent while playing at home, which is such a gift when you have a toddler and want to cook dinner! He is so smart and I feel that having the opportunity to learn with the other children and teachers has given him such a great start on life-long learning. We love the staff & teachers and have nothing but happy wonderful experiences at the school. My son gets excited when we talk about school at home and he jumps into to the car when I say it's time to go to school! He has such a blast and we feel so confident that this school is the very best for him. It feels good to drop him off in the morning at a place I know he loves going to and in an environment that helps him thrive!

My 4 year old daughter was really nervous the first week of school but they are so amazing and helped her understand her feelings and emotions and now she’s so excited to go to school! The assistant director and director are so amazing and understanding when explaining how the school works and keeps me updated on how she’s doing through the app! I love it there ! Definitely give it a try if your looking for a great school !

Yesterday was our last day with Stars Montessori Academy, and we couldn't be more grateful that both of our children attended for the past 2 years. In fact, my son was the first kindergarten graduate:-) After visiting several schools, we felt confident that Stars was the right place for our son and daughter. My son just completed 1st grade at his new school and despite being the youngest in the class, had a wonderful year and is reading above grade level. I believe this is because of the strong foundation that he experienced at Stars. He is attending a Montessori charter school and the transition was seamless from Stars to first grade. I'm positive I will have the same experience with my daughter who will start kindergarten in the Fall. The teachers are very kind and loving. Ms. Pennie is a wonderful director and the owners are equally as wonderful. I'd like to note that I have two degrees in education and was a middle school teacher myself, so I was very picky about choosing the right environment for my children. I highly recommend Stars as your preschool/kindergarten of choice!

My son has been enrolled at Stars since he was a little over 3 month old and is now 5! (They used to have an infant room.) Stars has been his second home his entire life. We have had a wonderful experience and are SO thankful for stars. All of the teachers / staff are both professional, great with communication, and are most importantly kind and loving. I am not ready for him to leave and move on to Kinder.

Both of my kids attended Stars Montessori and our experience was just great! The owner is 100% involved in school life. My kids didn't understand/speak any English in the beginning, but teachers did a great job satisfying their needs and involving them in learning activities. My 3 y.o. daughter started doing letter tracing on the second month of schooling!

I am grateful that we found this adorable preschool. What I appreciate most about Stars is the loving relationship the teachers and directors develop with the children. My daughter absolutely adores her teachers and talks about them constantly, which is ultimately what I value most in a preschool. Beyond this, I have also been extremely impressed with the curriculum presented at Stars. Each month has a theme, and all the art projects, songs, and lessons tie in to the theme. There are also special days such as Mother's and Father's Day, Halloween, Soccer tournament, etc, where parents can come and participate. It is truly a wonderful little community.

My son is going to Stars for last one year in Miss Galina's class. The environment is very friendly. Teachers are amazing and have taken care of my child well. My son loves going to school and building a foundation for learning. Alongside academics, he is learning to be independent. And my younger son will start going to the Stars soon.

Stars Montessori Academy is the most amazing school. I feel so privileged and lucky that my three children (4, 2, and 1) have the opportunity to learn from the wonderful staff members at Stars. Their program teaches children Spanish, yoga, cooking, gardening, music, reading, computers, math, writing, and more! They always have additional programs available for parents busy schedules such as soccer and karate. I am an elementary teacher in Oceanside and as a teacher I am so blown away that my four year old can already read complete sentences, speak some Spanish, sound out words, write, and add and subtract numbers within 20. My other younger ones are showing amazing skills and talents and love going to school! This is the best place for any child. I love love love Stars Montessori Academy.

I went back to work when my daughter turn 2.5 years old and I’ve look for childcare in my area, tour around 3 schools the first one was Stars, and I instantly love it❤still I went to check other 2 schools and I thought..no way I send my daughter to the other 2 options!
I call back Ms Pennie ( the director of Stars)and I told her my daughter will go full time care with you,she loves it since day one. ❤ the most beautiful thing and comforting is to see you little child having fun, enjoying, learning ( a lot) and playing! Really appreciated all the love and effort of every single teacher to guide my girl to be a better person someday in life!

My son has been attending Stars Montessori Academy for some time now and loves the teachers and the school. He gets on very well with the other kids and has learned so much in such a short period of time. His motor and sensory skills have much improved and his attention span has expanded. He loves doing art and craft, music lessons and science experiments, among many other things.

When either me or my husband pick him up from school, he always has such adoration for his teachers and classmates and tells us what fun things he did that day, which makes us smile. As a parent, I've always been a fan of the Montessori method and my son is a living proof that it works!

The best preschool in Vista we visited. We've enrolled in SM since December 2015. The daycare is always clean. Small groups for classes. Best program for development. After an Open House we found the Montessori program is so logic and school does a lot for it development, especially the director Ms. Pennie and teacher Ms.Galina. They helped us so much with transition period for our daughter of 2 years and 8 month old to be involved in education program and feel comfortable in new environment.
