Located on the Mohawk Trail (also known as route 2), Gould's is a Franklin county classic and a wonderful New England gem. Situated a short ride off Interstate 91's Greenfield exit and east of North Adam's Mass MoCa, Gould's is a great place to take your special someone for a date or the whole family out for Sunday brunch. On weekends, get ready to be in it for the long haul and expect to wait (hours sometimes but its well worth the hold up). On weekdays, the vibe is entirely different- empty tables, old timers, and a much more leisurely/ casual dining experience. Unfortunately, I dont think Gould's is totally handicap accessible at this point in time so you might want to call ahead and ask if you have specific needs/ questions. Simple menu highlights their delicious maple syrup. The pancakes and bacon are to die for.

This Arizona girl may have never been to a legit sugar house before but I feel like Gould's set the bar pretty high. With the original proprietress, Mrs Gould, manning the entry of the restaurant and the gorgeous timber construction framing a backdrop of trees swiftly turning under the advent of fall, I knew I was in for a treat. The pancakes are HUGE so if that's what you order, either come hungry or start small and work your way up. I had the hot chocolate and chased it with coffee. Wasn't a fan of the corn fritters (which a friend ordered) though it wasn't for any reason other than personal preference. Then we had the maple soft serve on the way out-- 25 CENTS, YA'LL-- and I didn't understand the level of amazingness that was happening in my mouth. So even if you just go out for the soft serve and the view, you won't be sorry.

Driving to the sugar house is a joy. The scenic route in, and upon seeing the building. Once you sit down to eat you are surrounded by real wood tables and beautiful artwork. Even the place mats are so adorable! We were served pre-meal pickles by our kind waitress. The waffles and blueberry pancakes were delicious. So delicious, we ordered a second one!

One of the best sugar houses in New England. Sugar on snow when there is snow on the ground and I've cream for dessert. What better way to start a kids day before skiing. And for me the sausage that looks like a hamburger hot the spot.

Delicious pancakes but very long time to wait, about 1.5-2 hours

Great fun for the whole family. They have coloring books, crayons, and children's books to keep your little ones (or young-at-heart) busy, and a watching them make the maple syrup is really cool. Pancakes and waffles are the main attraction here but they do have other breakfast items. The sausage is actually really good and you have to try the corn fritters. Friendly prompt service too, and clearly run with love by the Gould family.

My niece suggested going to Gould's for breakfast and it was fantastic. I normally order the largest stack of pancakes I can get but seeing the size of these pancakes I only ordered two. I had the blueberry pancakes with sausage and they were fluffy and flavorful. While the restaurant was busy we didn't' have to wait for a table. Expect it is much busier in the spring. Fantastic food, people, and views at a very reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

Excellent traditional New England food served with no fuss. Limited menu of breakfast and lunch items. My party of four had a fairly long wait but the food in such a beautiful location (both inside and out) with their own maple syrup is truly worth the wait.

This is my all-time favorite restaurant, and I have been taking my family there for more than 30 years! Pancakes are awesome, and so is the syrup, sausage, home-made pickles, and maple ice cream. If you like corn fritters, those are great too. I look forward to seeing Mrs. Gould and reading the family updates. It is a maple sugar house with all its country charm, and it is a highlight in our family every spring and every fall. As a matter of fact, we're heading there today - opening day March 1st. Yipee!

If you are lucky enough to be driving past when they are open then you have to stop. If the 25 cent maple ice cream cones aren't enough to lure you in then the wonderful breakfast items smothered in their maple syrup will be. The maple sugar candy in the gift shop is a wonderful souvenir if you can keep yourself from eating it all! Wonderful place!
The pie is yummy and the perfect way to top off your breakfast.

Best there is for pancakes and farm made maple syrup. WARNING! eating at this place will ruin it for all the others. It is that good! Maple syrup in jugs just as yummy, 25 cent ice cream cone! candy, apples and autumn decoration. Restaurant is just so warm and cozy I never want to leave. Been going there for 55+ years, I love it.

There was a very long wait on Columbus Day morning; about 40 minutes for a table of 4, but we decided to stick it out. The pancakes were excellent. The farm/craft store is charming. A nice highlight at the end are the $0.25 cones of homemade maple ice cream.

My family went during the maple season. We had both breakfast and lunch. Every loved what they had. For dessert we had the fried dough with maple cream. It was delicious! Can't wait to go back.

History, family, and tradition. This is not just a pancake house. This is an invitation to learning about and participating in a family's dream.
I get such a warm and cozy feeling being here. The pancakes are hot and everything is just so fresh.
I hope this place is around for many years to come.

Get there early or expect a wait. Menu is simple: pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and corn fritters, oh and of course syrup. Expect to pay a little more for the food, but they make it up with reasonable drinks. Make sure you speak with the matriarch as she is wonderful.

Unfortunately the restaraunt is permanently closed BUT I do believe you can still get some of the finest new England maple syrup in the franklin county region.

Call to be sure they are open...hrs may be seasonal only

Conveniently located on rt 2 in shelburne mass, otherwise known as the scenic mowhawk trail, stop in on your foliage journey and take home some of new Englands liquid gold to share with family and friends.

Been coming to Gould’s since I was a kid. Being from the area, it’s one of my favourites, and now that I live elsewhere I make a visit when I can if I’m back aorund. Thank you for the great service, the years of memories, and always being willing to make me chocolate chip pancakes, no matter how old I get.
