Coastal Cottages by the Sea

100% fantastic! Everything listed about the property was accurate and exceeded our expectations. From booking to arrival and checking out, the property owner was communicative with us to ensure that our stay was absolutely perfect. The beach cottage was exactly what my wife and I (and our two little schnauzers) were looking for on her birthday weekend.

The cottage was roomy and clean with everything that we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with clean dishes ready for use. The refrigerator freezer even had ice prepared and ice cold beer mugs ready to use! The beach was literally steps away from the cottage. You could hear the waves gently breaking on the beach every morning and night. You could even lounge on the front porch and watch the sunset!

All the beach toy amenities were in superb condition, easily accessible, and perfect for just laying out on the beach, or hanging out on the porch. The prime location of the property was the icing on the cake to our stay. Less than a 2 min walk are some of the great restaurants in Pass-a-Grille , perfect for sunset drinks after our sunset walks with the dogs! Additionally, the majority of the restaurants are pet-friendly so our dogs were gladly welcomed.

Overall, 5+ stars! Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your beach cottage! We wish we could stay longer, but we will be back soon!

We had a great experience with our rental. Owners were very responsive and offered lots of local suggestions and tips. The property is right across from the water and we could see the sunset from the living room. Can't beat the location! Walking distance to lots of restaurants and an ice cream/coffee shop. The owners left lots of little extras that were part of the rental that made it even better. Will definitely try and stay here again.

I’ll really loved this place so much! The location is unbeatable and the hosts are so helpful without being intrusive. The unit had everything you could need and was very comfortable. So many close places to walk to, the beach right there, it just can’t be beat.

I stayed at the Sunset Coastal Cottage from March to May, 2023. Cheryl, the landlord, is communicative from start to finish and makes the whole process easy and relaxed.

The one bedroom unit is cozy and clean. I was alone, but the place would be perfect for a couple as well. The kitchen was stocked with all of the necessities (including your own gas grill). The air conditioning works well, but the doors and windows allow for an amazing cross breeze. There are laundromats nearby as the unit does not have a washer dryer.

The location of the cottage can't be beat. With the included locals parking pass, there is no need to drive anywhere. Step out the front door to a great 3 mile walking loop all around the Pass a Grille community. Grab your mat and walk to beach yoga each morning. The pickleball courts are active and full of friendly people. There are free outdoor concerts, every night sunset celebrations, and the artisan's market.

There are numerous shops and restaurants/bars on 8th Ave, and you can get a great selection of wine and beer at Island Life on 10th and Gulf. Shaners Market has a nice selection of meat and items for the grill. (It was recently sold, so that may have changed) Just hit Publix on your way to the beach and you'll be all set.

Lastly, the beach! The access is directly across the street. Most of the time, the beach was more quiet right in front of the cottage. Early morning walks, mid day swims, and evening sunsets - it is all outside of your front door. And don't forget the dog beach, it is a short walk away as well.

We had the great pleasure of an extended stay in the Steps to Sand Coastal Cottage in beautiful Pass-a-Grille. True to its name, you are indeed steps to the beach! The unit itself is very spacious and comfortable, with 2 bedrooms, each with their own ensuite. The living room is a lovely area to relax and unwind. The kitchen is well equipped, with an eat-up counter, and there is also an adjacent dining room table. Check-in and check-out are effortless!
Without a doubt, as others have mentioned, Cheryl and Hobbie (the hosts) are outstanding! I can't say enough about how wonderful they are!! They truly care about their guests, and go out of their way to make sure you are happy.
Pass-a-Grille is beautiful and very friendly, with good choices for food and drink, as well as wonderful shops such as Island Life on Pass-a-Grille Way. We enjoyed every second of our stay!

Our family celebrated our daughter's 10th birthday in the beautiful Steps to Sand Cottage in February. Cheryl and Hobie were welcoming and super helpful with things to do in the area. We can't wait to visit again!!

Cheryl was very responsive and accommodating. The cottage was clean and welcoming with everything one would need while vacationing.The location was convenient for my family of five. The area felt safe and secure enough for my husband and I to walk a couple blocks to have dinner alone without the whole crew with us. I like that the cottage was well lighted at night compared to some of the surrounding homes. The beach was steps away which allowed us to see an amazing sunrise and sunset without any rush. The area recommendations were spot on and the food was great. Overall a great last minute Fathers Day weekend and we look forward to visiting again sometime in the future.

My husband and I needed a quiet beach getaway for a weekend with our new puppy. We found the most perfect cottage style one bedroom one bathroom place just steps away from the beach in Pass-A-Grille. Upon booking Cheryl immediately sent us a message with more information and places to go during our stay. Her suggestions were spot on! We walked everywhere all weekend and didn’t have to drive our car once. Very dog friendly and family friendly. Our perfect escape for a weekend. We will be returning!

We had a wonderful time at Cheryl and Hobart's place. From the first message to see about availability and about bringing our dog along, to checkout and the farewell message, everything went smoothly. This cottage was very clean and had everything you could need when visiting St Pete's, including beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you could need to cook a meal. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside of the cottage, and we never felt crowded. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable.
The location is prime, just steps from the beach and a couple blocks to shops and restaurants. Cheryl has a binder full of information about near-by attractions and restaurants, and she also texted to us many good recommendations about where to eat.
Cheryl was very friendly and responsive, the check-in and check-out procedures were easy, she left clear instructions about where to park, house rules, and check-out procedures. We are looking forward to staying here again when we come back to visit St Pete's Beach!

After “sheltering in place” for 2 months we needed a getaway and were so pleased we found this beautiful, comfy cottage! We felt very secure with the cleanliness of the home, and also with the efforts of the local officials at the beach and businesses in the area in keeping with social distancing. The cottage is in a GREAT location, right across from the beach, many dining options, and beautiful sunset views! Cheryl is a fantastic hostess and we really appreciated how welcoming they were to our doggie! Highly recommend! And we look forward to going back.

There is no better location in Pass a grille than this lovely seaside cottage. Maybe 15 steps to the ocean, 1 minute to shops and dining, cool breezes at every turn and a casual, comfortable "Bohemian" decor that will make everyone in your party feel casual and comfortable. Cheryl, our host, was amazing at recommending things to do, see and where to shop and eat. As foodies, we have high standards and Cheryl's suggestions didn't disappoint! The cottage has everything you will need and then some. The layout is great for families -- split bedrooms and baths with plenty of lounging, dining space in between to accommodate a small or mid size group. She also has a charming one bedroom on the ground floor - perfect for a couple. Our stay was terrific and we plan to return.

This place is a gem. This is our second visit and we just love this cottage. Its literally a few steps away from the most beautiful and quiet beach in the Tampa Bay Area. The place itself is charming, spacious and fully stocked with everything you could need during your stay. It is a really good size and feels like your own little house. Its perfect for our dog to hang out and sleep while we all had fun on the beach. I plan on going back again next year. To top it all off the owners are really wonderful, so responsive and nice. Highly recommend this place!

We spent a glorious 4 days at the two bedroom cottage in Passe a Grille (“Steps to the Sea”). It was clean, spacious for two couples and an ideal location for a beach getaway. Truly across the street. It may have been the time of year (early August) but the area was also quiet and peaceful after beach hours. The bungalow was built in 1925 and the owners have retained the charm of the era but also updated for comfort (e.g. air conditioning).

Check in was simple and Cheryl was very active in reaching out to make sure we got in, had what we needed and asked if we had any questions. We did not get to met her or her husband as they were at their west coast property during our stay. She left easy to follow instructions and recommendations for local shops, restaurants and stores.

This area was a real find for us and I will gladly return. In fact, we already booked for the spring. A relaxing, peaceful oasis by the sea.

5 star! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ We enjoyed our first stay so much that we booked a second stay and extended our trip! We would have stayed longer if the rental was available. The area was great, location was perfect on the south end of the island, we fell in love with PAG. We brought our Great Dane and he was welcome everywhere, including all the restaurants. Dogs were not allowed on the main beach but there was a beach area reserved for dogs where they could play and be off leash. The property itself was wonderful. Spacious and very clean and the host was extremely helpful giving us pointers and checking in on us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again!

Perfect beach front house to stay for a getaway trip in St. Pete! Clean and spacious 1 bedroom and bigger units are available as well. Cheryl was great and helpful with recommendations! We couldn’t have wished for a better location. We walked to everything and got to enjoy the dog beach with our dog Handsome on the intercoastal side of the beach. Highly recommend booking this house for future stays! We will definitely be back.

We had such an amazing time at the beach house! It’s so spacious, plenty of room for 2 couples & our dogs. It’s truly 20 steps from the front door to the beach walkover, plus you can walk to all the bars, restaurants & shops. The owners are very welcoming & happy to help if you need anything. The house is so clean & homey- you’ll never want to leave!

We could watch the sunset from our living room in this charming seaside cottage! Or we could walk a few yards to the beach, taking our beach chairs they provided. From the welcome bottle of wine to their friendly hello we felt right at home. And it’s dog friendly! Pass a Grille is a sleepy little Oceanside village complete with a dog beach and good food. We loved it!

We stayed at the 2 bedroom Steps to Sand cottage. There was plenty of space, everything you need, and the unit has 2 AC units with adjustable settings which was plenty cool against the Florida heat. The beach access is across the street and the dog beach and fishing charters are within walking distance of a couple of blocks. Sunset watching, cocktails, live music, icecream, and a farm to table restaurant is a block away in the opposite direction. Cheryl is a very accommodating host and checked in with us several times to make sure our needs were met.

We could not have asked for a nicer experience - especially for 4th of July on short notice and with our 60 lb dog in tow! Cheryl was very attentive and helpful. She made us feel welcome immediately, and made sure we knew how to find dog friendly restaurants and the dog beach (a few blocks walk from the cottage). She also provided us with a detailed description of the cleaning procedures for the property in advance of our arrival, which was a comfort. Local menus and recommendations are organized in a binder, as well as instructions for using the very convenient FreeBee shuttle, made getting groceries and meals a breeze.

The 1 bedroom was perfect for a couple with a dog. The view of the Gulf from the living room and the front porch (and the famous sunsets) is spectacular. Public beach access is steps away. A large assortment of beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, etc are available right outside your door. All are in good repair, and so are the bikes, in case you would like to venture out for a bite or drink. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and kitchen basics. So many little details were already thought of and provided for, we felt like all we had to do was show up and relax!

The hosts were wonderful and knowledgeable about the area, including the best places to eat and suggestions on what to order. The place was spotless and there were several thoughtful amenities throughout. The location can not be beat, literally steps to one of the best beaches in Pinellas County. You can catch sunrise and sunset via just a short walk. We are locals but felt like tourists in our own town thanks to all of the information provided. The hosts were very responsive. I highly recommend this spot. Worth every penny!
