My husband and I rented out this historic chapel for our wedding! We wanted a very simple day that mimicked an elopement. Mt. Zion Historic Park was the perfect venue for us. In 2023, it cost us less than $300 to rent out the chapel and grounds for 3 hours. We had about 40 guests, but the venue could have accommodated for more. The venue organizer was incredibly helpful and kind throughout the entire process. We bought two large center piece flower arrangements to put on the altar and it added the perfect amount of decoration. I would recommend this chapel to anyone looking for a more intimate budget wedding. Some of the photos are ones from our wedding day and other photos are from the day I visited the venue with the venue organizer.

Interesting history and simply a nice place to take a walk. Enjoyed reading the interpretive signage about the church and graveyard.

Very pretty old church. I'm glad they saved it and we happened upon it in the last day of the year when they had it open for guided tours! We plan to go back to check out the trails across the street.

Small park with historic 1850's church/graveyard and some civil war history and significance. There is ample historical signage regarding both the church, and civil war battle, along with a nice forested trail around back. Great place for a short outing with kids or anyone interested in history.

Along with the 1850s church and it's cemetery is also remnants of the north / south route of Old Carolina Rd: predecessor of US Rt 15.
Segment closed off for traffic is found in the west side of the cemetery. Route follows north along Watson Rd and Evergreen Mill Rd towards Leesburg.

This was an unexpected gem! We explored the old cemetery and walked down the Carolina Road. There is a path in the adjacent field that is open for walking after 10 am (before 10 it is reserved for hunting).

Well maintained and significant site. Met with two historians there and learned a great deal about Col. John S. Mosby and his Rangers. Fascinating!
