Silk Mill Grille

The storefront to this restaurant does not do it justice! Inside is an array of decor that invokes a vintage industrial feel. Visited a few days ago for dinner and had too many good choices, but opted for the French onion soup as my side for the Silk Mill Grillers with shrimp. It was delicious and too much to finish. Our server was polite and friendly and timed her visits to the table well. Glad we stopped in and I’d recommend to anyone visiting the area.

As an expert foodie, I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Silk Mill in Orange County and I must say it was a trip down memory lane with all the antiques on display. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed dining experience for our second date.

What impressed me the most was the affordable prices, which is a rare find in a restaurant that offers such quality dishes. Speaking of dishes, I have to mention the mouthwatering mushroom caps, which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. And let's not forget the fried oysters, which were simply amazing and left me craving for more.

Moreover, the server was extremely friendly and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Overall, I would highly recommend The Silk Mill to anyone looking for a unique dining experience with exceptional food and outstanding service. It's definitely worth a visit, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delectable dishes!

We were shocked to see a 4.3 on this wonderful place! Friendly staff, delicious homemade food - all of it!

I had the most fresh, perfectly prepared scallops with delicious real mashed potatoes and also super fresh salad. Husband had a huge portion of meatloaf and fries with homemade gravy! Lovely old mill atmosphere! We rode down from Martinsburg, WV and it was well worth the trip!

Then I read people giving 1star because they had to wait a minute or their favorite wasn't available at the time they wanted it. Come on, now!!

I was recommended this restaurant for a good local cafe in Orange Virginia. I went there wanting a regular meal. Lunchtime they mainly serve sandwiches. They did have a lunch of fish and chips which I ordered. The people who were there looked like office worker and the older people. The food was good and the waitress was excellent.

Great little grille I'll definitely remember and highly recommend to anyone. Food was very reasonably priced and excellent. I'm a big fan of the basics executed well and this hits the spot! Service was also top notch - Halston was very attentive, professional, and delightful. Grilled chicken salad and the smokehouse burger were very good. What a gem!

Located in a historic silk mill this place has a great atmosphere. Had appropriate portions. The hot crab was incredible. The beef tips were tasty. desert where exact.

Over all great place to eat highly recommend

We stopped in today in hopes of trying out a new place while in the area. It has a nice appealing entrance. The inside is decorated nicely. The restaurant is transformed from a 1920s mill. The staff was very friendly. The food came out quickly. The food was good. There were five of us and we all got something different ranging from appetizers, salads, pasta, to a chicken sandwich. Everyone one of us thought the food was good. The prices are reasonable. I recommend this place. Give it a try! We will be back if we are in the area again.

I used to visit Gramma in South Boston, VA and we would dine in small restaurants like this one. I expected mediocre steakhouse food but dutifully ordered grilled options, the house specialty. We were happily surprised. My son declared the Silk Mill Grille Burger as one of the best he's ever eaten. The fries were also very good. My Southwest Chicken Salad was flavorful and delicious thanks to the dressing. I considered leaving four stars because I had been looking for a vegetarian option, but at $15 the grilled veggie "griller" on rice was overpriced, so my principles wouldn't allow me to order it. Nevertheless, I will definitely return to have a burger or beef tips in the future.

The food is hot and fresh a fair price and served with a smile. I love the decor of this restaurant and it's a great place to have a good meal with friends and family. Please give them a try!

Just had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. We’re visiting from out of town, and came here on a whim, and enjoyed it immensely. The service was especially wonderful. Hi to our friendly server! 😊

Great place to eat, the atmosphere was cozy. We started with drinks which were the Long island ice tea and the UV. The Bartender gives you your money worth! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of our entrees because we were in the moment but the Ribeye and Alfred penne with steak was on point! Very delicious, excellent service! Mike ( I believe his name, i apologize if its wrong) Warned me of inclement weather coming in and helped me to cover our Slingshot before it rained. Can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you for the great experience

If You like a relaxed atmosphere, seriously good food or possibly your not sure what your in the mood for. Try the Silk Mill Grille. They have one of, if not the largest menu in the state. And best of all it's a great place to bring friends for a few libations before dinner. Lots of screens to watch when the game is on. Drop on by and tell them Robin sent you... You'll be glad you did...

Very nice place, we really enjoyed eating here. Our server was attentive, and the food was really good.

The crab dip was awesome. We were all happy with the food as well as the friendliness of the staff. I particularly loved the history behind the building.

Excellent restaurant. Food was very well prepared, and wait staff were excellent. Prices are very reasonable.

I was glad to see the weaves and other antique equipment from the former silk mill on the walls. Really enjoyed my meal and the good service as well as the unique décor. The salted caramel cake was one of the best desserts I have had in a while.

Love going here. Casual dress. Homemade food. Meatloaf was delicious. My entire table ordered meatloaf. Very nice portions also. Waitress was on point. Good job.

This was an adventure stop to find something different for dinner. Oh boy! I messed up by not taking pics, but I was busy enjoying the place! It's old and maybe a little rustic from the history, but it's clean and inviting. Very good food, with great service. Salmon was tasty and slightly moist, not fishy or dry; steak was juicy and so tender the knife slid through it. Paid $100 with tip and well worth it. It's on my list to come back again.

The Caribbean chicken and rice was a-maz-ing. Great flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy on outside and juicy on the inside. My husband got the seared scallops with wild rice and that, too, was very good. Cool atmosphere and super nice waitress. We'll definitely be back!
