Being from Boston, this place felt like the North End. The food was amazing (dinner bread was fresh and warm) Christina, our waitress made dinner suggestions and they were perfect (the crab ravioli in wine sauce… simply a delight to the taste buds) We now live in Jacksonville, and will drive down on occasion to experience this place! The chef even came out mid-meal to check on us! In love with this place!

The food and service were amazing! The mushroom crustini was so yummy for the appetizer. We also got the tomato basil soup and linguine with clams. OMG!!! YUM! They had a nice wine selection. The tiramisu dessert was delicious and different. Not soaked the way I've had it before, so hard lady fingers, but still great! In door and outside seating. Highly recommend and will be back!

Tonight, my visit to Cafe Gianni left me thoroughly impressed, meriting a well-deserved five stars. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. Although the service was a tad slow, it's essential to note that we were the last table for the evening. This minor delay did not detract from the overall experience. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring our comfort throughout the meal.

Had a wonderful dinner with my family on December 30 @ 6pm. We only waited 15 mins for a table. The chef greeted us and also came over to say goodbye and thank you for dining. We had mushroom crostini, clam, garlic and white wine pasta and tiramasu. Will stop in again on our next trip to Mount Dora. Every thing was delicious and the service was terrific

Wow wow wow! We were blown away by everything about this awesome spot! You can tell so much care goes into every dish. Our service was incredible, so kind and knowledgeable. We couldn’t decide which dish we liked best! Everything was so fresh. We booked our rehearsal dinner here and we can’t wait!!

I absolutely love this little Italian restaurant! It is one of my favorite places to get Italian food! Also, the tiramisu is delicious!!

Wonderful intimate spot! I brought my wife, who is a vegetarian, and the chef's accommodations were amazing. He personally came to our table to ensure service and food were excellent. Food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We highly recommend 👌

Absolutely amazing! If you’re in Mount Dora, you have to stop and grab a bite. My family and I walked up without a reservation, and the owner (Gianni) kindly said “One moment, I can get something ready for you.” In a matter of minutes, a table was made ready and we enjoyed our dinner! The friendly atmosphere at this restaurant is unmatched. 10/10 will come back!

Charming location the wine and food were delicious. I ordered the signature dish shrimp with the purse pasta filled with cheese, taste amazing! Highly recommend this place. Our server was Chris he was so attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Will definitely return.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Mount Dora. Amazing Italian cuisine. The eggplant parmigiana, the wine, tiramisu, and espresso, all fantastic. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. Chef Gianni would come out from the kitchen to greet guests and make sure people were enjoying the food. We had a great experience and will definitely be back on our next visit to Mount Dora. Hi

The food here was phenomenal. Real authentic and flavorful. The chef greeted us as we walked in and seated up. He also checked in on us as well. I can't say much for the make server that served us as he was forgetful and we had to remind him on multiple occasions on what we had asked for and even ordered but I won't ding the place based on him or our experience with him as this establishment warrants more then a subpar service level experience. The inside is quaint, they have outdoor seating and also and upstairs it seems. I recommend a visit if you are looking for good Italian cuisine in the area.

Absolutely wonderful. We were at the Art Festival and everything was so crowded. One woman was extremely rude at having to wait, but the chef was so professional doing everything he could to accommodate such a crazy amount of people. Well done!

We had a very good time at Gianni's! Food was delicious and reasonable priced. The full staff is super friendly!
We came riding motorcycles and Chef Gianni greeted us very warmly; we found out he's a fellow rider as well!
We will come back next time we're in Mt. Dora

I come here at least once or twice a month with family. I never normally eat all my food or am very picky. I have to say, I will never look at the menu again and just tell the chef to bring me whatever he recommends. Truly a master and artist in the kitchen. Food has never once been below excellent. The server Adam has served me and my family 4 times so far, and he is impeccable at his job. I have never once ever had to ask for anything, he is on top of everything. Truly a memorizing experience. Love chef Gianni!

The food was amazing! We ordered two appetizers Prosciutto Melone and Artisan Salad and for main dishes my husband had Veal Marsala he loved it! It was AMAZING! I ordered Sacchettini Pasta it was Glorious Flavors were Magnificent !!! The Staff are very polite, helpful and nice! Even The Chef came to our table and talked to us!

Amazing!! The chef/owner came out to introduce himself once we were seated and again to see how our food was after. The waitress was knowledgeable, made GREAT suggestions, very attentive and kept our area clean. We got a caprese(always MY must when available and I dine out. the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and the cheese and sauce was bountiful), and the husband and I decided to let the chef and waitress pick our other two appetizers and they DID not disappoint! They ordered Salsiccia Cacciatore( sausage and pepper dish with flavors that make your mouth water), and Prosciutto e Melone(THIS...THIS right here is HEAVEN on a plate! I mean...everything! Never would have paired these together Prosciutto and cantaloupe and Chef Gianni did it BEAUTIFULLY). For the main dish...hubby got Veal Capricciose and I'm pretty sure its his new favorite dish ever. I'm NOT a veal person at ALL but it was so tender, juicy and flavorful I would order it for myself. Was not oily and the noodles were perfectly covered in sauce. I ordered Chicken Prosciutto Spinaci....the most favorable, tender chicken I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly covered in a creamy sauce. All food came out hot 🔥 and perfectly cooked. So of course how could we stop there? Nope! The hubby got the chefs grandmother's recipe of Tiramisu and thought it was the best thats hes ever had. I ordered creme Brule and the texture and taste was spot-on. I was also suggested a red wine since they did not have my normal...the first red wine I've ever had and liked. All together BRAVO 👏 we will definitely be back. Its a little pricey but you definitely get the quality and amounts of food and service to make it worth it.

I visited mount dora in February 2023 and had dinner at Gianni. The food was absolutely fresh and tasty but I must give 6 stars to our server George . From the moment of our arrival to the moment we left he was absolutely helpful and professional. He knew so much of that menu that he picked the best dish of the night for us and it was again delightful. With all of his acknowledgment we thought he was the owner. I am returning for the thanksgiving weekend and hope to eat there again and see George if not waiting tables hopefully as a manager . I can't say enough about this place! The service is always so sincerely personal. Chef Gianni himself often comes around to our table to ask how we are enjoying our evening. The dishes are mouth-watering. I highly recommend the secchettini pasta if you want a combination of the slighty sweet and savory. My other recommendation is the pasta al salmon. It's my favorite. The menu is fine-tuned so there is nothing in the selection that is just filler. It's all top-tier. For dessert, the tiramisu is a family recipe that always tastes homemade and not overwhelming. It's a perfect ending,even if you are unsure about eating another bite.
