Mount Dora Confectionary

If you were a fan of Village Coffee Pot, those smooth Lattes, and other flavored coffees have moved across the street to the Mount Dora Confectionary. I stopped in for a caffein fix before heading back to South Carolina, and met a great group of residents that are part of an 8 AM coffee club. Super friendly owner and guests welcomed me in as one of their own.

Whether it’s ice cream, candy, milkshakes, or something more specific like an after-dinner affogato, Mount Dora Confectionary seems to do it all and do it right. Extensive ice cream and candy selection. Great store for a sugar rush. Helpful staff and good a/c on a hot summer’s day.

We had gone into another ice cream shop across the street from this one first. I won’t mention their name in this review but due to the lack of flavors I ended up going here instead. I’m so glad I did!

They have a terrific variety of ice cream and gelato flavors. Although I only bought one scoop, they also have a selection of “throw back” candies as well as fudge and chocolates.

I had their Banana Cake ice cream and it tasted fresh and very banana”ie”! I was so excited about the flavor, and how good it was that I forgot to take a picture to share!

The kids want it some ice cream and the weather was perfect for it. Great place so much variety and fun and great flavors. The Superman with the rainbow colors and vanilla taste was a winner. 😋🍦🍨🤗

I went in here and got mango boba and lemonade with coconut syrup and some truffles and they were delicious the dude was super kind and helpful I will definitely be back

Moved to the area about 4 months been coming here for about 3 months. I try to bring my 2 kids here every tuesday, it has great fresh chocolates along with all kinds of amazing gelatis, the place gives off a 1980’s candy shop. The worker, Mariah, is and was an absolute joy, im originally not from here, and moved here from São Paulo, therefore my english was not very good. to my surprise Mariah spoke portuguese! ever since then me try to come in whenever she has working, she always made a point to compliment my clothe, ask my day, and talk to me as a friend. today i found out she will be leaving soon to college. So, i decided to write a nice review not only to thank the candy shop for bringing a taste of sweetness to my family’s world, but to also making Mount Dora feel like home.

If i could give a higher rating i would, amazing ice cream and gelato. Many chocolate and candy options. The worker, Maria, which i believe the name was. Was extremely sweet with our children gave each of our kids .25c out of her tip jar so our kids could try out the gumball machine! not to mention worker wasn’t mad or grudgy about giving out samples. excellent service and products.

Best value, best quality, best service. You wont find a better scoop of ice cream for miles. Sure, they don't have 100 flavors, but that keeps the line moving quick and the flavors they do have are something everyone will enjoy.

My party included gluten sensitive, lactose sensitive, allergies... No matter what someone wanted to complain about, they had a solution. They make sure to cater to all their customers.

absolutely amazing!! The ladies working were so kind and helpful, very mature and had good manners, I definitely recommend going... i felt very comfortable. It’s a very cute shop with good people, very friendly and safe environment. My drinks and candy(s) were given to me very quickly and they were phenomenal!! I will be back soon. 10/10

This was such a cute little shop to visit! Our puppy was even allowed inside. There was only a young woman working inside and she was super nice! My boyfriend got rock candy and I got chocolate covered graham crackers; both were excellent tasting! The shop itself is nicely set up but it can be a little hectic/overwhelming to look at. Despite that, I know this will be the place for me to live out my fat kid dreams!! 😂

Trinity is amazing. My child has food allergies. She wasn’t bothered in the least to find allergen labels for us. Very clean, changed gloves and my allergenic daughter was able to enjoy a wonderful treat. I’d give you 10 stars if I could for the smile on my kiddos face :) very knowledgeable I might add in food prep and labeling also which is so important with 1 in 4 children having allergies now!!

Took my kids there recently. The ice cream was delicious and I had the best mango smoothie I've ever tried. The truffles looked so good, I will have to try those next time we go!

I came to tour the shops for the first time today while visiting my sister who lives here.... of all the shops I visited, this one was my favorite! Why? It’s a time capsule of sorts! The minute you walk in it’s like time traveling! I love the nostalgia of the place! And has to be of the best cups of coffee I have ever had! Service was excellent as well! Will definitely be one of my first stops when I return!

The kids always ask to go there. It's worth the price and the cashiers friendly. I noticed the girls don't get tipped enough. They deserve more tips.

Stopped in for dessert. I had a twist ice cream cone, wife bought several dark chocolate pieces. The twist cone was bland, the salted pretzel cone was awesome.
Employee on duty was friendly and helpful. He did an awesome job of answering our questions!

I've only ever had the gelato here, there isn't a huge selection but I always find something that I like. I think the gelato here is better than other places around. Store is very clean, in the servers I've had are friendly. There's also a variety of candy and sweets that you can scoop here. The place seems pretty inexpensive to me overall for the gelato and candy, and if I wasn't sure about the prices for the chocolate, I would always ask before I purchase.

Great selection of ice cream, gelato, handmade sweets and chocolates, and transitional bulk candies. They have some seating inside and a few tables outside. The staff was nice and attentive. The perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth when exploring downtown Mt. Dora.

Visited this store last week, bought a superman ice cream for my brother, a peice of fudge for Grandma plus a popcraft ice pop for myself. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the product was great! The pop craft was diary free which was fantastic! Will be coming back.

I love this ice cream shop. I am always served quickly and politely. the staff are nice and the ice cream is delicious!!!! definitely stop by and get yourself some delicious ice cream.

Great sweets coffee and ice cream! Very kind and friendly staff. We stop in every time after dinner for ice cream. It also provides candies that you can't find elsewhere. Retro candy and fine chocolates.
