Emerald Bar

It's been voted best dive bar for a reason. Go in sober, leave with a solid buzz smelling like an ashtray. Been going here for 28 years, won't stop coming. If you don't live here, maybe don't come here. Us locals need a place to avoid the tourists and snowbirds.

Old school bar that doesn’t break your wallet & still allows smoking. Lives up to its name - a gem of a bar. Even bigger of a gem in their bartender Jenn. Thanks so much for the good times - don’t ever change.

Never been in before, but the staff was very friendly and the drinks of real good prices for name brand liquor. This bar has a very chill vibe and you can tell it's been there forever in a good way. They have different local artist hand art for sale every month too.

The most terrible gem of a bar of all the bars we went to in Tampa. The older not so lady like bartender was busy reinventing the term surly service with a grimace. We had a good beer and a strongly poured JD. The bad R&B music went well with the authentic rose wood Shalele. I'd be counting my tills overnight if I owned this place.

Ok service, signs that they allow smoking, original old decor and $3 mixed drinks. That would not be worthy of five stars for most restaurants or bars, but this is a dive bar and it hits all the marks! I almost gave it four stars because it was too clean

If you're like me, and prefer a good dive bar over a boujie one, Emerald is it! The bartenders are attentive and take good care of you. They make a really good drink for a great price! Smoke friendly and dog friendly, so be prepared in case you don't like either.

This is the 2nd oldest bar in St. Pete. It's a local watering hole. It's dark. It's a little smoky. It's filled with locals with great stories and wonderful personalities. The person who was bartending during our visit was fun and fiery.
Know that when you visit here, you are entering the locals' world. Don't ask for a wine list or look for their list of frozen drinks. Order a beer and a shot and enjoy the experience.

Went here for an art show/book launch. Got pretty tipsy on 2 tequila sunrises, so they do not skimp on the liquor.

It is a smoking bar, so if tobacco smoke bothers you I wouldn't suggest it.

One of the last remaining dives in St Pete if not THE last remaining dive. It is homey and the bartender was very welcoming.

Love this little dive bar! Great for drinks and a night out. Prices are great and so is the service. It’s laid back and has a good jukebox. If you’re looking for fancy, this ain’t the place.

Quintessential dive bar. If you're a dive bar aficionado by all means check it out. Prices are reasonable, bands sometimes play. Worth a look in.

Probably the best of the diviest bars in all of DTSP. Not to be demeaning of the fact, but as a mention of honor. Clean, atmospheric, hipish and good vibes. You get great service and good prices for drinks in a location where you pay a premium everywhere else.

Favorite bar in st.pete, best prices I come here because LIZ and Mike are great bartenders and humans! Fun environment, best prices in the area! And if you're a smoker this is your bar 🍸. Only place I enjoy drinking at!!!

Best dive bar in town

My friends are locals and waited for my husband and I to join them to try this place out. It didn't disappoint. If you love a grungy dive with cheap drinks, this is the place. Also lots of spread out tables and plastic dividers for COVID safety! Digital jukebox was a great touch too. We'll go back every time we are in St. Pete.

A friend and I have been threatening to stop into this place forever. We finally made the decision to just stop and go in and I wish we had done so earlier. It looks like a total dive from the outside (not a bad thing in my book) and you can smell the smoke as soon as you get close, but don't let that throw you off because it is totally worth the visit. The bartender was great and the crowd was awesome. Everyone was friendly and cool. It is exactly what you are looking for in a local watering hole.

One oldest 'dive' bars in St. Petersburg, any type if beer and daily specials and liquor specials as well as top shelf available for very
good prices. Good drinks that are not watered down!!

Great bar and atmosphere. When you go, avoid the chunky blonde bartender because she always has a problem with patrons. Every other bartender is great. I would never give a business a one star review but she gets one star. If drunk people annoy you, then bartending is not what you should be doing.
