Brass Monkey

This is the place! Fantastic outdoor views for the sunset while enjoying a deliciously well crafted Floridian cocktail. The menu is loaded with so many crab inspired choices, but the Monkey Balls are where you should start. This is a typical beach bar type restaurant that is perfect for a beach day lunch or fun night for dinner. The atmosphere and vibe are spot on for the area, and the outside seating is dog friendly. The service was fast but parking on the street can be tricky. As a Tampa local, this place is definitely a go to spot for a night sunset dinner date night.

I'm a Tampa Bay local and I have been to many different places around here I quit counting. But this hole in the wall is now in my top three. The food was absolutely delicious be it seafood or steak. I'm sorry Maryland but once you try crab cakes at Brass Monkey you will never go back. Also, you can't pick a better location on the beach to watch sunset.

We are from Baltimore and so are the owners! Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles cover the restaurant and we were right at home!! The view of the sunset is spectacular and the food is great! Crab cakes are still not the same as home but close enough ☺

We were able to get a table on the deck. What a beautiful view! Enjoyed the crab Reuben sandwich. They definitely didn't skimp on the amount of crab! Yummy!

What a break. Had to clean another 4 inches off to leave for airport at 6 am....first stop after landing in Florida new find The Brass Monkey. Awesome! Ask for Colton and sit on the patio...and the caramel Pina Colada is THE best frozen libation I have ever tasted. The food super tasty. Bonus - they were super friendly to our furbaby pup Ozzy Rockstar. We'll be back! Enjoy!

The restaurant has a great view from the balcony! Food is amazing! We are Raven and O's fans that came south and stumbled upon a Maryland themed restaurant.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch overlooking the gorgeous beach on the upstairs deck! I loved my grilled chicken salad and iced tea and my husband had an awesome chicken, pizza and gin & tonic. Everything was delicious and prices are reasonable. Our server was very attentive And we would definitely return on a future visit to the area. A great choice for lunch with a view!

This place is fun, with great views of the water! The food was excellent, too.

On a Friday night, understandably so, plan for a wait for your food. We were sat within a reasonable amount of time, but waited quite a bit for our food.

Regardless, the vibe was great and made it worth the wait.

I was raised in MD. I lived, worked, fished, crabbed etc. on the Chesapeake Bay most of my life, so today two of my Floridian friends and I went and had lunch here; and I am extremely happy that the food was ALL that I expected it to be. The crab dip and the crab cakes were phenomenal!!! I got a little home sad looking around at everything that I grew up around and attended, but I know I’ll be back here frequently with more Floridian friends, so they’ll taste and know what a real crab cake (no filler EVER) tastes like. Our server, “Jake” from Pasadena was very attentive, knowledgeable, fast, was very personable, professional, and friendly. I can’t wait to go back!!!!

Delicious food and drink! I got the frozen dirty monkey cocktail and it was made with real bananas, you can taste the liquor but it tastes like a yummy milkshake. The monkey balls (mini crab cakes) were delectable, I put lemon juice on mine. The seafood chowder was alright, I didn't care for the potatoes, would have been better with full bay scallops. They are very generous with the crab over here. Overall, I would come again for the delicious crab cakes & cocktails.

My best friend and I came here for a quick bite to eat and it did not disappoint. The location is beautifully situated with views of the beach. Sunset was stellar. We had the steamed colossal shrimp and jerk chicken. Both were fresh, flavorful & delicious! We will be back for sure.

We ordered potatoes skins, mellow yellow wings, the Patrick burger, and fries which were wonderful, greasy, hearty bar foods. I do mean greasy; I couldn't eat more then one potato skin and a handful of fries, but I am more sensitive to it than most. I think the average person would still find them perfectly palatable, like my partner did. The fry was excellent on the wings though! All the flavors were fantastically umami and all were very crisp.

The burger was well done which was not the order but they were so apologetic and comp'd the drink my partner ordered. They were even going to make them a new patty but the burger was still moist and delicious so they declined. The server, Anna-Kade (or Kate...or Cate/Cade?), was so approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful through all this that overall it was still a great experience.

I will say country was playing and it's very Ravens themed (football). We don't dislike those things, but I know some people do so the heads up is for those people. For us the sunset view was such a positive and the other ambience was neutral so it was still a-plus for us!!

Great restaurant with an amazing view of the ocean. Have a great outdoor seating area on the second floor that gives you an obstructed view of the ocean. I had a chicken wrap with chips and the food was great. This would also be a great place to catch a game.

Best NY Strip I've had in years. Clean atmosphere. Friendly staff very affordable. Drinks are tasty food was great. Fair price for a great value. Will return

A fun bar and spectacular outdoor dining area. Sara and colleagues were so nice to us. The ribeye steak was perfectly grilled and amazing. Seafood and wings were top notch! Our new favorite place on the beach.

The food was wholesome, the dirty monkey was delicious (frozen drink) and the service was great! The atmosphere was normal, but then they turned on the Baltimore game and the bar came alive! Everyone started rigorously chanting and then I noticed everyone was in purple! What a great experience for an out of towner!! Definitely a must stop when visiting beautiful passa grill!

Zoe was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. You can see the sunset from the patio outside.

This is the first restaurant I tried in the St. Petersburg area. My friend Emily took me here because I asked for a good, comfy and cheap restaurant to drink as a “quick” stop before I had to go.

She mentioned she has come to this restaurant with her family several times already. That they like all the servers because they take good care of them even though restaurant is always so busy - I loved the fact that the restaurant is right across the beach. That was the main reason why I -needed- to sit outside.

Food came in medium big sizes. Very fulfilling and tasty. Clearly fresh.

I’ll definitely will be coming back in the future. I’m captivated by the menu and I’ll like to try different things in the future. It’ also could be a good spot to stop by and get a quick buzz with friends. Specially if there’s an interest in star gazing after.
