Wish we had taken better note of our servers name but we had the best experience, thanks to our attentive, knowledgeable server. Above and beyond in accommodating for dietary restrictions. We needed gluten free options and the server was attentive and went above and beyond for us to ensure allergy needs were met. Take note, the menu on the website is not up to date, so it’s worth calling ahead or asking upon arrival. We had reservations for a Friday evening - this place does start to fill up after 6pm, it seems. Sitting outside is a nice option, there is a lot of foot traffic passing by the restaurant and the tables are out on the sidewalk but this did not alter our dining experience. Fresh cuisine, made in house with great attention to detail. Steak was perfectly cooked and they carve it off the bone making it a pleasant plating experience.

Had a special birthday dinner here. Food, service, and environment were wonderful! We had the beets, fish eggs, and octopus as starters...all were excellent. Main dishes were crab spaghetti, grouper, and the filet...absolutely perfect. Finally the banana French toast plus the vanilla/chocolate espresso dessert was decadent!

Big thank you to Chef Dani and team for all that beautiful hard work back in the kitchen!

Dining with a special celebrity sports guest, we were taken to a private room for a more exclusive dining experience. The service was outstanding as music, temperature and ambiance were adjusted to our liking. Everything was very delicious and well cooked. Complimentary bread was served. Cocktails were delicious. Smaller establishment.

Incredible service and attentiveness from Chef Sheridan and Joe! By far the best tasting menu experience I've had. Well worth it!

We had Mushroom Spirale and Crab Spaghetti as the main dishes. There are stuffing within the pasta of the mushroom spirale that delivers a rich taste while dip into the mushroom butter sauce and spice on the side. The spaghetti was made with octopus ink and cooked in a buttery creamy sauce with crab meat. Very chewy and we loved it. The salad was very good and used a unique combination of fresh and cooked vegetables.

Only thing is the tables for two people is quite small, not much space. Parking is hard to find too.

What a wonderful dining experience. The menu takes advantage of combining seasonal ingredients and unexpected flavors in a classically Italian style. The Short Rib Mezzaluna with truffle fonduta was incredible.
The olive oil gelato was simple but complex and delicious. We will be back for the tasting menu!

Worth every penny. The service was amazing. The food was creative and very fresh. Recommend the wine pairing if doing a 5 course dinner. Will definitely return for special occasions.

Awesome place. Great service. Variety of foods without too many options. A little limiting in appetizers, but lots of good pasta and carne options. Everything was "simple" but super flavorful. Try out desserts... Zeppalis were to die for. Creme fraise gelato sounded "boring" but it was so unique and delicious.

Absolutely amazing.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm smile and a welcoming feeling. Lauren at the front desk is incredible kind and runs a tight ship moving guest to and from their tables. Don't miss wonderful opportunity to try to saddle up at the bar where you'll have a great selection of cocktails, and a curated wine and champagne list. If you have the pleasure of meeting Joe or Chandler behind the bar, they will not disappoint. Both are extremely attentive and have a wealth of knowledge to help you select a delicious concoction, or guide you through their menu.

The food, however, is star of the show. Chef David and his team create and execute an exciting and delicious take on Italian cuisine. Whether it is an old classic with a new spin, or the infusion of a primarily Japanese ingredient into new idea, every dish on the menu deserves a spot within it's ranks. Not to mention they are frequently experimenting with seasonal ingredients and rotating dishes to keep things fresh.

IL Ritorno is one of the best restaurants in the St. Pete area, if not the best. A well deserved 5 stars in all aspects including food, ambiance, service, and bar program.

The passion, creativity, and dedication that this team pours into their craft shines through in each dish, cocktail, and interaction. Every dish we've had (both seasonal and the staples) marries each ingredient beautifully without any one overpowering the others. The presentations are meticulously crafted and look like a work of art, you have to take a moment to appreciate it before digging in. This goes for the cocktails too, they have a phenomenal bar program and beautifully curated wine list. Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable and kind and the reason we continue to come back time and time again. Of course, the food is worth every penny, but the hospitality is what makes this restaurant stand out. Il Ritorno is such a special gem in our community, and I appreciate the time, effort, and passion that they put into making every trip a unique experience.

I cannot say enough great things about Il Ritorno. Starting w the stellar wine selection and by far the best mussels we have ever had. The pasta dishes were delectable and we enjoyed the balanced flavor profile.
Mia our server was fantastic and made great recommendations and wine pairings. I will be dreaming of this meal for years to come.

My goodness what a treat of a meal. From start to finish, Shay was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in regards to our menu selections and was just overall super sweet and attentive. The teamwork in this restaurant is top notch, they never let us need anything without anticipating it in advance. The mussels were delicious and the wood grilled bread that came with was a really nice touch, but the oxtail…as cliche as it sounds I’ve never wanted to lick a plate more. We ordered the grouper and filet and we both loved our meals. We tried the banana cake for dessert and it left me wanting so so much more.

Amazing experience! Me and my husband drove from Tampa to explore some St.Petersburg’s restaurants and we were not disappointed. Delicious food, especially short rib mezzaluna, and beef tartare. We didn’t like whipped bone marrow appetizer. Quail was okay. Desserts were on point- ricotta zeppoles and gelato creme fraiche. Service was outstanding- bartender Chandler did such a good job! We will come back!

Wow this place was delicious; Recommended by multiple friends so had to finally go check it out. Intimate seating with beautiful aromas the second you walk in the door. Service desk is quick to address you and get some drinks going so you don’t stay thirsty long. We got a bottle of red wine that was a tasty blend and well recommended by the server. Tried the short rib pasta (best seller) and the Brussel sprouts, and needless to say both were incredible. I’d like to go back and try something different but it would be hard not to get the short rib again hahaha. They also started us off with a tasty bread to pair with the wine while we waited for the food. This is a lovely place to take a date and has all the looks and feels of authentic Italian.

That squid ink tagliatelle was the best pasta I’ve tasted since moving to Florida 3 years ago. It was absolutely delicious. And their focaccia with pesto was also amazing. My friend had the oxtail pasta and he enjoyed that too. We even tried their whipped bone marrow. Didn’t too much care for the turnips but overall this restaurant is amazing and I’d definitely be back

Wow!!! Just wow!!! I choose this establishment for a special birthday celebration for two. The evening started off with an immediate seat to our table. A wonderful introduction from our server Kat. She was incredible with her knowledge and recommendations. So attentive to our table. She did let us know she was new but I swear you would have never known! The food is absolutely outstanding. Homemade focaccia. And the wagyu tartar, is like heaven in every in every bite. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better it did! Our entrees were so delicious with every bite you didn’t want that flavor to end. Dessert … yes we had dessert!!! The combination of flavors were just beyond what one would think. Do not debate making a reservation for this place. That would be your regret. Hands down one of my best and most memorable dining experiences in the area. Well done chef and staff!!!

We did the chef's bar seating where we were taken on a little adventure with 8 courses of the chefs creation. Flavors and textures were wonderfully balanced! The best preparation of A5 wagyu I've had so far. Well paced and excellent service. We loved every minute and every bite.

We thoroughly enjoyed every bite of dinner. Unique dishes with unique and quality ingredients. I love the homemade pastas, bread and focaccia.
Service was very good as well. We all loved the cocktails but passed on the desserts since we were all full.

All great things are here…. Service was amazing and the quality of the chefs work really showed… it was very inspiring. Good morning was awesome. He was working the bar and made sure everything was perfect! I picked a drink and wasn’t a fan of it. He remade me another drink that was amazing . I wish I remembered the name of it.. defiantly eat here!!!
