Beautiful place by the water. The house was closed when we were there due to staffing issues, so if you want to see the inside of the house, call before you go. It's a small park setting with a half mile sidewalk around the property. It is an easy walk with waysides along the way. The park is open sunrise to sunset according to the sign posted at the entrance. When we were at the Visitor Center, we were told there was a locked gate. We took a chance and went there anyway. Good thing, because there is no gate. The park has bathrooms at the parking lot, and there is no lighting at night, so make sure you go before sunset.

Little cove on the Indian River. Site is a National Historic Landmark that helps to protect Mosquito Lagoon. The 1/4 walk is easy to do for any level of ability. Dogs on leashes are ok, no dog park. Plenty of parking. Clean restrooms.

Peaceful and beautiful! Learn about the ancient history of the Native Americans with a short stroll on wooden walkways. There is a dock, as well as pretty views of the waterway. The two yellow buildings were still closed during our visit, but that did not deter from the enjoyment of the visit. We spent about 20 minutes here.

Been by there several times but didn’t realize what was there until someone else told me about it. Very interesting and pleasant walk around the paved walkway. A portion of one of the houses was open to tour.

I was out and about. was nearby and always wonder what it was further down the road. I stopped in. really really nice really nice. tie was up. win was blowing. nice good Breeze. sun was out. nice little place to walk around. can go fishing canoeing kayaking. Water look so refreshing inviting. Oh yeah it's a little history there. the Native Americans. so a some of history and lot of Pride right in that little spot. This is such a Peaceful location to walk around or even sit on a bench and have a picnic lunch. There are several landmark information signs. The buildings are, unfortunately, closed due to COVID at this time. The History provided about the Timucuan Indians is interesting. Thank You for taking Your Time to read my review😊 Have a Great Day!🌞

This place was amazing. Short half mile beautiful stroll, by the water. Two totally awesome historical houses, sit up on mounds, made from oyster shells. I believe, one house is a store, but unfortunately, it was closed. The property is surrounded by, old, cool trees. Restrooms were closed.

A beautiful preservation site. I enjoy coming here early, there always seems to be great photograph opportunities. They have is a very small launch for kayaks or canoes ( not trailers ), and also a dock.

Interesting history and a scenic spot.
A must see if you have 10 minutes.
It is a short walk not hard at all. Benches along the trail with facts of the history. There's a beautiful old home and killer views of Indian river.

While it may seem like just another river-side park it is anything but. A smooth paved walking path winds through Florida's most native greenery. Along the path are many historical sites are peserved within Educational plaques; artistic imagery depicting scenes from the time paired with widely informative summaries. While I will admit I am unsure of the hours or season, there is a period preserved home turned museum/souvenir shop nestled atop the highest hill. Open or closed, the beautiful wrap around porches provide guests with extremely comfortable rocking chairs; perfect for taking in the view. I highly recommend visiting this little park if you find yourself in the area. Carry and launch your kayak, enjoy the quarter-mile circular trail, fish from the floating dock, or hang out on the river beach. There's a ton of options really :)

This is an open-air state park. There is no cost for admission. Located on the Indian River, it is the perfect place to take a leisurely stroll with your sweetheart or your pet. The trees are hundreds years old, the lawn is perfectly manicured and there are paved walkways around the perimeter. If you like watching the sunrise, this is a great option that will not disappoint!

Beautiful, peaceful stroll along the paved or wooded path. Houses are open on Sundays so we missed not seeing inside them. Loved the dock. Could have sat on the dock for a nice relaxation but there were no benches (suppose for safety). Restrooms were locked.
