OakHaven Montessori School

We have been with OakHaven for 4 years and have enjoyed and still enjoying our daughters journey in the school so far. Our goal was to develop good behavior n personality which I owe to the teachers n environment. Definitely good foundation as I can see the difference when my older one moved out. Younger one is actually ahead of her peers from other schools, again this is a combination of your child n environment.

Our child has been going to OakHeaven for more than 2 years. We are very happy with her progress. I love the focus on kindness, grace, and responsibility. The teachers are dedicated and wonderful.

Our son has absolutely thrived in the Primary program. We moved earlier this year from out of state and were concerned about transitioning schools and disrupting his normal routine. The teachers and the entire staff made the transition so smooth and everyday we feel how much they care for our son and all of the kids. One of the big selling points for us when searching for a Montessori program was the outdoor space and recommend it be a consideration point for all parents. Love
how much time our son spends outdoors and on a true “playground” (with space to run, grass, dirt, flowers, bugs!). Can’t say enough good things about Oakhaven!

Since her very first meet and greet, our daughter has absolutely LOVED going to OMS. The staff are incredibly kind and it is obvious how much they care for the kids. Communication is always great. Every Friday we get an email with photos from the week. It has become a big highlight to review them with my daughter and hear her take on everything. We look forward to many happy years with OMS and can't wait for our son to attend in a few years.

OakHaven has been fantastic! We moved here in 2022 from out of state. They give each of my twin girl’s individualized attention, and help them develop in areas that they need. It has a fantastic community and we love it!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about OakHaven!! My daughter has been enrolled for a year and a half and our son will start soon, too. We tried the traditional preschool route and our daughter did not have a positive experience. She would cry daily at drop off and it seemed that the teacher did not have positive interactions with the children there. I came to OakHaven for a tour after deciding that we needed to change her learning environment. I was so impressed with the tour and felt confident that this was the place for her. The staff are amazing and my daughter LOVES going to school everyday. We were initially only planning to stay for preschool, but we are strongly considering remaining at OakHaven for elementary school. I encourage anyone looking for an amazing learning environment for their child to come and see for yourself!

My daughter has attended Oak Haven since she's been 2 1/2. She is now in second grade. She cannot wait to get up in the morning and go to school. On the weekends she is always sharing stories with family and friends about the lessons she's doing at school. Daily, at dinner time, she shares her day with us and also the excitement of being able to teach another child a lesson that she's already had. She absolutely LOVES reading and is a very good reader. It's not uncommon for her to finish a chapter book in just a few days! I know she is always safe at Oak Haven and that the staff truly loves all of the children and their passion for teaching is truly genuine. I have sent 3 children through traditional school and although they have all become successful and productive adults, I don't recall any of them loving to learn the way I see in my youngest daughter now! We are blessed to have Oak Haven and their wonderful staff in our community and as an option for our child!

I can not say enough GOOD things about this school. When we were looking for schools for our daughter, it was an overwhelming process. I work from home, so my daughter has alway been at home with me. Trusting the place where I would send her was of utmost importance. From the moment my husband and I toured the school, we felt a sense of peace. We were blown away as we observed the classrooms and witnessed how the children behaved, interacted, and the love and respect that the staff had for the children. We left both saying that it felt like family and we knew without the shadow of a doubt that our daughter would be safe, well taken care of, and THRIVE in this environment.

She was so excited for her first day, and she has loved it ever since. She talks about her teacher and friends constantly when she is at home. And she tells her little sister, "one day YOU will get to go to my school!" She has learned so much since she started at OakHaven. She constantly amazes me with the new things that she picks up or comes home talking about.

We love all of the special activities that OakHaven plans. This little gem is much more than a school. It is a family and a community. They plan special days for the families, mothers, and fathers. It is so comforting to know that I am sending my child to a school that puts her best interest as their top priority.

Once again, I can not sing their praises enough. If you are even thinking about searching for a place that feels like home to allow your child to grow, do yourself a favor and set up a tour.

I have three children enrolled at Oakhaven (2 in primary and 1 in second grade) and couldn't be happier. We moved to the area recently and had to leave another Montessori school in Illinois that we loved. I was really unsure if we'd be able to find another school as wonderful as our last one, but we did! It's a small school with an amazing community built around it.
The school campus itself is absolutely beautiful. I love that my children play outdoors on a playground that resembles a park rather than an asphalt parking lot. The school itself is very organized and it is obvious that everything is well thought out and decisions are made with the children's best interest in mind. They have parent education evenings that really help fill in gaps where my knowledge of Montessori is sometimes lacking. They also encourage parents to visit during the day and sit in on classes to watch. I wish this teaching style was more popular when I was a child. If I had learned math they way it's taught in Montessori then I'm sure I would enjoy it more than I avoid it now. I also like that the children are taught cursive when other schools are cutting that piece out.
I can't say enough positive things about the teachers......they're so talented and wonderful with the kids. I'm really lucky that I have a child in each of the three classrooms. Each of them feels like they are at home in their school and we would recommend the school to anyone with young children.

I was a new mom of a clingy preschool aged child that needed a place to go. I dreaded the school search because my girl was constantly by my side. Nothing was going to help this child! I was terrified she’d hate it and it would be a daily battle. That first day, she cried and clung to my leg. The second day she waved bye (with tears). The third day she said bye and ran in leaving me in the dust. She adores her teachers and aftercare staff. She pretends to be them at home with her dolls as the students. Because of this school she is now much more social and interactive with (appropriate) strangers. She’s been here 6 months and she has learned things that amaze me. Example- the other day she correctly pointed out left foot vs right foot. She didn’t learn that from me. Ha. I can not recommend this school enough.

Wonderful school. The outdoor space is fantastic. The administration and teachers are first class.

A growing Montessori school with high quality teaching staff.

While the school was VERY good for our toddler/ child, I was VERY disappointed how the school offers discount enrollments that are abused by families as I know some can certainly afford the schools full tuition. We were effectively paying a subsidy to them while they go on vacations, etc.
Another aspect that caused issue was that school events were not planned well or they did not provide appropriate notice or details. Then there are a little bit inconsiderate activities such as the all day Fathers Day BBQ durring the work week. Well, if our childs father cant make it durring a work week, the child stays home to avoid disappointment changing mommy's schedule. And finally, there are no sports.
Still a really good school, but not a whole package.
