EVOLUTION TRAINING

We are so glad we found this gym for our daughter!! We were looking for a sport or activity where she could gain self confidence, and get healthy exercise. This gym has way exceeded our expectations. Everyone is so encouraging and lifts all the students up. She struggles with academics and we needed something that would be a win for her. This was just what she needed! Dr. Waffle and his whole team are THE BEST.

This gym is fantastic! I love the safe, supportive, and welcoming training environment here! Every instructor is friendly, patient, and attentive as can be, and they teach with a focus on both the self-defense potential of jiu-jitsu and the competitive / technical aspects. At other schools, there is not nearly as much practical combative training, as it often gets less emphasis than points and submissions. Here, you get both — you can train to compete while still developing the skills and mindset needed for effective, real-life self-defense. This, and the small doses of flow training we practice regularly, make me feel like I’m getting training that is truly sinking in, which is important to me.

I am so thankful for the well-rounded, badass martial arts education I get at Evolution Training!!

Evolution Training Martial Arts is the BEST gym for so many reasons!

I'll start by addressing the kid's class. Each and every instructor coaches the children in not only jiu-jitsu, but also in life skills. They teach emotion control, respect, team work, strategies, and martial arts moves, of course. The children are kept engaged.

The adult's classes are incredibly inclusive. The instructors are patient, respectful, and skilled. My first class was taught by Heath, I was nervous but he made sure I was grasping the concepts and even demonstrated multiple times. Evolution's instructor James even helped me one-on-one during the class to make sure I was comfortable and able to spend time practicing the basics.

I can't fail to mention the staff. The gym's owner/intructor, Ernest or "Waffle" is awesome. Their manager, Shanna, works so hard to make sure things run smoothly. All of the instructors, such as Mike, Heath, Dustin, James, BB, and more are the best at what they do. The entire team is knowledgeable and skilled.

I would definitely recommend this gym!

Evolution Training is a great place to work out. I especially love Crossfit. I like the fact that every workout is planned out daily for me. It’s always something different to where you don't become bored doing the same thing over and over. They have great trainers who gives their undivided attention to each individual person's needs. There is also a great deal of sincere encouragement to persevere threw every task. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is committed to getting healthy and staying physically fit.

I just started exercising because I was reluctant to join a gym. I was worried that I would be working out with a bunch of cocky meatheads. I am relieved to find the staff and members at Evolution training are awesome.

The trainers are very knowledgeable and provide good instruction. The training environment is friendly. The gym is kept clean. They have good equipment. They look out for me and make sure I don't over-train and hurt myself.

The best part of working out at Evolution is the members. I really like the people next to me and that's why I look forward to coming here.

I've been a member of Evolution Training since 2010, and have been extremely happy there. Instructors are helpful and patient. I've always been treated like family and love how jiu-jitsu has given me the confidence in knowing I can defend myself if needed. This gym is a comfortable environment for everyone!

Evolution Training is a great place to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As a brown belt who travels to different gyms to train, I make it a point to visit this gym monthly. The instructors are welcoming and very knowledgable about the art of jiu jitsu. I would recommend this dojo to anyone who is looking for great training partners and great instructors.

excelent gym. fun, family friendly, amazing staff. great instructors quite simply couldnt ask for more.my wife and kids joined in january and instantly felt like we were part of there family. whether your looking to lose weight get in shape(crossfit) learn kickboxing olympic weight lifting or bjj(brazilian ju jitsu) this is the place to be. call them up or go to the facility for a free tour and walktohrugh of all the schedules for the classes they will be more than happy to assist you. i know we are happy to have found them. it brought us closer together.

During my first visit to GJJ, every member of the gym walked up to me and shook my hand. I was surprised by how friendly everyone was.

In addition to the positive atmosphere, GJJ offers top notch jiu-jitsu training. Ernest "Waffle" Ellender is a black belt under the tutelage of Dave Camarillo (UFC trainer of title-fight contenders Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch) and he's the best trainer you'll find near Houma. GJJ also has multiple high-level purple belts who teach the classes and offer great advice for refining your jiu-jitsu game.

Boxing, cross fit and wrestling are also offered Monday-Saturday.

we were looking for a new start at a healthy lifestyle then we seen a advertisement for evolution training. it read ju jitsu crossfit kickboxing. I've always had a love for kickboxing and also knew it would be great for my children to learn self defense so we made an appointment and as soon as we arrived we were told everything we wanted to hear the schedules the trainnings, classes times, and the prices. it had something for us all so we signed up and as soon as we got there we immediately greeted and it felt like we belonged there kinda like a 2nd home. we werent strong or had alot of cardio so they started us off slow at our own pace and they worked us up from there. we now officially have friends/2nd family, are much stronger and healthier and the children have good constructive outlets. we have nothing but good things or feeling to have about evolution and the trainers there, why not join? make the choice JOIN NOW!!! lol

This is my goto gym while I'm in Houma. Great coaching from Heath and great atmosphere with the other students.

Dropped in for open mat today and had a blast with the GJJ crew. They were super welcoming and friendly, and eager to train with the new guy. The studio is spacious, immaculate, and the crew is tough and technical. I can’t wait to get on the mats a couple more times with these guys before I leave town. Oss. 🤙🏼🙏🏼

I have been going going there for two years and I love it they teach you but they make sure that you have a lot of fun while doing it
