Crescent City Grill

The food is always delicious. This visit, the shrimp poboys and fries were a bit cold by the time they got to our table, the restaurantwas busy and we had to sit by the bar which made the service a bit slower... The burger was missing the onions, but the server was very friendly and brought them to me once I showed her. The sensation salads were super saturated, but they brought us an extra plate with some lettuce to mix in, which really helped, and it really was good. Despite these issues, it was all very tasty.

Passing through Hattiesburg a couple times a month and always getting mostly drive-thru junk but today I felt like something different so I searched for a top rated restaurant and found this cornerstone institution gem .
The second I walked in I knew I found exactly what I was looking for , the atmosphere the ambiance and very clean establishment was perfect but how was the food?
Ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and it was the best I've ever had!
Also order corn chowder and it was amazing and then shrimp and grits for the main entree and I've had this before. Several different places with this was by far the best ever had. It was unbelievable Even better than waffle House lol
Our server Joe was a great help to recommend some Very good dishes. We were blessed to have him as our server because we never needed to ask for anything he was on top of everything!
I would Love to give this place 10🌟 stars but Google only allows 5 🌟.
I can't wait to come to town And as a matter of fact, I just may see myself back there just for the restaurant. Even though I live 2 hours away, it is well worth it !!!

Up-scale New Orleans restaurant in Mississippi? Yes, please! Excellent selection of food and beverages. It's in a College town, so there's an extensive list of alcohol for people who drink it. We got the crab wontons as an appetizer, and they were fantastic! They were house made and absolutely delicious. The sauce was really good too. I ordered the ham and cheese special, asked for it to be open faced and they happily obliged. Husband ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy, cheddar grits and Gumbo and really liked them. Our waitress, Taylor, was quick, friendly, offered personal recommendations and was knowledgeable about the food and establishment, which is always a plus! We're moving to Hattiesburg soon, from New Orleans, so we will DEFINITELY be back!

Had a great late lunch today! The rest of the table got sandwiches and poboys, I got the house salad with chicken!
Server was attentive and checked in on us often, prices were fair, and food was excellent! Definitely a hidden gem in Hattiesburg! Can’t wait to come again for dinner!

Absolute great food. Place was full of patrons because it's a great place for Cajun food and pizzas. Burgers and other items too. Over the bar is a picture of Drew Brees in royal garb. Funny.

Very nice atmosphere & service. food was delicious. Nachos for appetizers were great. Also had a great spirit encounter, haha. Glass of sweet tea moved across the table by itself🫨 Will definitely be back again.

Stopped here for lunch. We were seated quickly. They were busy but we didn't wait long for our drinks. We ordered. Food came out in less than 15 minutes. Everything was very tasty. Portions were generous. We will definitely come back.

5 stars all the way. Absolutely an exceptional experience. The Catfish Plaquemine is phenomenal along with the oyster sampler and fried green tomatoes. We had several other appetizers as well. Nothing disappointing about this place at all. Exceptional food and service that's hard to beat. Hands down one of the best dining experiences in Hattiesburg Mississippi.

Food was outstanding! I had seafood crepes that were delicious. Corn and crab chowder was good but very heavy on the corn. Tasted good but too thick for me.
Husband had fried catfish over jambalaya and he loved it.
Portions are Huge, enough for 2 large meals.
Service was very good. The restaurant was not busy and we did not need reservations on a Tuesday evening.

No queuing, quick and helpful service, with excellent quality and value food. I had crab cakes New Orleans and my wife shrimp & grits. Both awesome. Would go back anytime!!

First - I wish every restaurant had the kind of attentive waitstaff as here. Even with my waiter being very busy someone else came by and got me more to drink. Score!
Crab and corn bisque very tasty. Got the crepes which are stuffed with crab and cream cheese then covered with a shrimp cream sauce. There was more shrimp in the sauce then some some other restaurants serve as the main ingredient. Score! Served over jambalaya not too spicy- I don't get to eat Cajun or creole food too often but here alone for 5 weeks so Imma get my fill. I will return soon to try their eggplant fries. I realized my error when everyone around me ordered them.
Update- yes try the eggplant fries! Weirdly good.

All I had was the vegetable plate, it was remarkable. I can rarely say the food was incredible. I love this place. The rest of my party had catfish and the butternut squash and they loved it. Rave reviews!! We were traveling thru and really glad we stopped in.

Needed a quick lunch as we were traveling through. We missed our chance to get food in NOLA but I am so glad we got some HERE! Had shrimp poboy and gumbo (and a kids cheeseburger). I called in my order and Timberlynn was so nice and professional and cheerful! They had my order ready in ten minutes and off we went.
the poboy had LOTS of shrimp and the gumbo was good. A great stop for a delicious take out lunch! Inside the restaurant looked quaint and clean with fun jazz music and lots of daily specials. I would definitely plan to come here again. Thanks for the great food and fast and friendly service!

Plesently surprised by the quality here! It was an awesome stop for a holiday date night. I got the seafood feast and was amazed with the flavor of the fish. The staff was very attentive and overall was a great stop! We will be back, I am positive.

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, food, and setting. I love the cultural influence, and the waiters/waitresses are great! Would definitely recommend, and I would give 6 stars if I could!

Always love the atmosphere and food here, must have been a bad day, the food was horrible, chargrilled oysters were awful ,so much Parmesan cheese couldn't taste the oysters and I love cheese, tasted liked the cheap container cheese, etouffee was with blackened seasoning, terrible, not true etouffee, bitter. And the cost of the oysters was $40.+, our bill for our simple lunch with fried green tomato appetizer was almost $100. Won't go back for a while. If again. Never got refills, so bad experience

Off the beaten path from I 59 but worth it. There is not a noticeable sign on the building, it's on the back of the bldg which their parking lot shares with a strip shopping center. Staff is friendly and attentive. You can tell locals love it as 3 very elderly ladies were enjoying their meal and company. Heard a couple praising their past and present food. Corn and crab bisque, seafood gumbo, shrimp creole and creole fried chicken salad around $40. Great choice...

Absolutely loved this place! Oysters were a little high (considering market price), but I won't complain because out of the 6 or 7 different places I ordered oysters from over the week of our vacation, this was by far the best. Service was excellent as well. I ordered the seafood omelette, and was happy with my decision! Everything we ordered was great, including the ribeye, grits, cutlet on a bun... All of it!

I was there last weekend & it was amazing! I had the jumbo crab cakes & my friend had the catfish & shrimp with dirty rice. Both meals were delicious & large portion sizes. Our server was Luke & he was really great, polite & made great recommendations. I definitely recommend this place
