I love it here - everyone is helpful and kind. Their kids section is great as are their recommendations!

Online ordering is convenient (you can do that at the Regulator too), but who wants to give up the experience of going to your bookstore? The calm, safe environment, the smell of books, the friendly people, the opportunity to run across books you could love that isn't dictated by some algorithm that boxes you in. Need I say more?

A great local bookstore! I was impressed with the selection. Lots of times I’ll go into smaller, local stores and they won’t have the books I’m looking for, but this store had everything I wanted. Lots of selection both popular and more unique picks.

A larger than expected little place with a great selection of front & backlist and kids. Personally, I didn't see any used books. They also have magazines, which is a little rare for an indie store. Really enjoyed it.

This is always a must-stop for me whenever I'm back visiting the area. This past visit was the first time taking my son there and picking from their great kids book selection. Highly recommend!

Found this book shop in Durham. Loved the ambiance in the shop. Reminds me of the bookstores that you used to find in small towns. Nice selection for the size, they are good friendly as well. Wish I had a book store like this where I live.

great selection of books. i can rarely find places with hefty theory sections and they keep theirs stacked. employees are very nice and helpful.

This is a wonderful indie bookstore with a diverse selection of books, nice atmosphere, and kind staff. Great prices as well! I've only visited once, but I know I'll happily return.

Great selection of new and used books in a great location that employs wonderful bibliophiles! Service has always been proactive and friendly but unnecessary because they make clear where to find what genres. They're very socially minded and their shop is beautifully laid out. I'm more of a used bookie, but you have to go downstairs to find the bargains and second hand selection, which has been small but appealing. Easily the best independent bookstore in Durham, and they make it easy to support them because they are such a great little shop.

A Durham staple, the Regulator always has great books on hand, whether you're seeking picture books (for a kid or for you - they don't judge), poetry, or more popular fare. It is a wonderful resource for book clubs, schools, and books of local interest.
