The staff here is wonderful. There's such a crazy selection of apparel and cute little retro items. Awesome place to buy gifts. I love the acrylic seasonal earrings. The young lady that worked there was kind enough to send me pictures when they came in so I didn't have to drive all the way into town to see If they were what I wanted. Course I love them. I am already getting compliments on my earrings.

Wow! I was visiting Durham with a friend, we walked by the store and she begged me to go in. I fell in love. I bought gifts for friends and many things for myself. I wish I could've spent all day there.... my American Express would love it. The costume jewelry was so fun, I wore some that night. I can't wait to wear the gloves I bought. Seriously, a fun store. I hope to purchase things on the website. I added pictures of us and close up of the rings on each pinky. So fun! Thanks

Eccentric stores like this are my FAVORITE!! The journal selection is so gorgeous and so reasonably priced!! A mix of practical items for college kids (like tea diffusers), cute clothes, fun home trinkets, and awesome accessories.

Picked up a couple pair of adorable summertime earrings last visit. This place has the cutest stuff. They have an amazing earring selection. This time I came in and picked up a couple cute little gifts for my grandkids. Some may choices from clothes to kitchy toys. Can't believe all the stuff they have in this tiny store. Love it!

This fun eclectic store is a must stop on every time we are in town. The owner is wonderful and friendly! There are plenty of items for everyone. We manage to find something fun and new to take home on each of our visits. It's also a great place to find unique gifts!

If I could give this place a billion stars, I would. It's small, but you could spend a 40-hour week in there and still not see everything. The staff was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome and appreciated. They have the largest Blue Q collection I've seen inside an actual store. A great, fun selection of greeting cards and artisan jewelry. They also have tons of purses and shoes and just random must have items. I cannot wait for my next trip to Durham because Vaguely Reminiscent will be my first stop!

You haven't done Durham's 9th Street until you pay a visit to Vaguely Reminiscent.

This store is a treasure trove of unique jewelry, hair ornaments, comfortable clothing, fun gifts and the best brands of women's shoes you can find for style and comfort. I bought a pair of red leather Italian made sneakers, compliments every time I wear them.

The salespeople are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to help you find that special something. Apologies but above list falls far short of listing all the goodies you'll want to take home.

One of my favorite gift stores in Durham. Gotta call them out right off the top for having the best card selection around! So many great cards that you just don't see other places, and covering a variety of occasions. Other than that they've got great jewelry, socks, clocks, toys, games, knicknacks and doodads. The clothing selection skews a little bit 'old' for me, but it's just right for some. Tiny store so limited stock, but they utilize every bit of space and have found some great items. Bought my sister in law a "famous first lines of literature" mug which she loves, and recently bought my mother a gorgeous bracelet. Have spotted many other great gifts I'm sure to return for on future friends and family birthdays.

Such a cool little shop! It’s a little tight in there but there are sooo many different things. Could easily spend a longgg time in there looking at everything! A lot of one of kind items- great place for present for anniversaries, birthdays, mothers or Father’s Day, etc. And a bonus is that it’s locally owned for almost 40 years. Shopping and supporting local is so special. I can’t wait to go back again.

Every now and then you happen upon a real unexpected gem of a store. Vaguely Reminiscent is exactly that. They have unique and interesting gifts, clothing, and accessories that are unlike anything I've seen in other stores. If you are looking for gifts for the hard-to-shop-for, something unique to make yourself stand out, or just some quality fun, stop by this store for sure! The staff are super friendly and will do whatever they can to help you out.

I loved this unique place. Its quite small but full of interesting items. The only thing I did not like was that the ladies were watching my every move, as if I was going to steal. I understand though, the place is small and they were just watching out for their merchandise. No offense taken. They were very nice overall.

Love this place. Not sure if it's a clothing/shoe store or a novelty store! They have lots if cool items such as candles that look like "saint candles" but have famous authors and books like "I could pee on that" (it's told from a cat's perspective). The clothes are for hippy women of all ages! The store is so filled with awesome items that someone with mobility issues might not have the room they need.

I love this little shop, they have the quirkiest items and so many homemade jewelry items to choose from! I wish i could buy everything off their polymer clay earrings wall!!

Best place for unique finds and thoughtfully curated gifts. Never leave without a pair of earrings. They are ones you'll hardly find anywhere else and always get compliments.

This place is a hidden gem. I found it by accident when I was in town for a wedding and needed a different pair of shoes. I absolutely love them! I get compliments on them often. I came back today a year later to find it and after some searching online I found it! Just bought a gorgeous pair of ankle boots!

Durham's most unique shop for clothing, cards, gifts of all varieties. Must look high and low in this gem - they've utilized every nook and cranny of their small space in order to carry a wide array. Clothing is not found anywhere else, and they only carry one of each size and color - seize the moment & buy, don't hesitate as the item may not be there when you return!

i always go in without a plan and leave happy. the staff are all so helpful and know just where to point you for the perfect gift (and so are many of the other customers!). always a fun time at vaguely!

I've been coming here for years. The space is small, but the items are unique and beautiful. I have found some wonderful deals here and the staff is usually quite kind and smiling. Just be careful walking around, you might knock something over!
