Bernardin’s Restaurant @ zevely House

First time eating here and it was amazing! I had the special lobster lobster ravioli. The lobster was so tender and delicious. Also ordered the lamb chops and they were so delicious. The service was so good.

We had been wanting to go here for years. We had hear great things and we just keep forgetting about it because it’s at the high end of our budget for a celebratory date night. I always forget to make reservations places and actually using OpenTable was awesome. I think they get charged when you make a reservation using it, but I really appreciate it. So easy.

The food was great and the outdoor dinning area was nice. The table was quite a bit wobbly but you can’t win them all.

For an appetizer we did calamari and it was on point. Would definitely recommend.

I got the tuna and my wife for the salmon. Both very delicious. I got a side of asparagus and… it was not that great, nothing about it was special other than very buttery. I would pass on that next time.

The service was fine. Nothing that went above and beyond. Didn’t volunteer and recommendations just the specials. Definitely not bad. Just not amazing. But I don’t take of my points for that :)

Overall this was a really nice date night and I would love to say that we will be back. But it is the very high end of the price range for us and is a very few and far between type place.

Excellent service and a chef prepared menu is always how it happens at Bernardin’s. You can never go wrong with this restaurant, it’s a must if you live near Winston Salem and price is not an issue. The Foie Gras and Lobster Ravioli are perfectly prepared along with a Pinot Noir make for an excellent dinner. The atmosphere is warm and the service is excellent.

We celebrated special occasions in this restaurant. The entrees we ordered tonight live up to our expectations. This is one of top fine dining restaurants in Winston Salem. 👍👍

We came here on a whim and are so glad that we did! The food was delicious, and our server Alec was attentive, kind and gave excellent recommendations. Our experience was utter perfection. Thank you!

What an awesome experience! Our meal began with Alec sharing the evenings' speciality dishes. Each description was accompanied with decadent adjectives and gestures that set the expectation for a tremendous gastro-experience. Every dish from the appetizer to the dessert were freshly prepared with great care - high quality ingredients, superb preparation and beautiful presentation. The main courses of Lobster Lobster and the Filet were perfection. The suggested wines deliciously complemented our selected dishes. The atmosphere was comfortable - an invitation to slow down and enjoy each and every bite. This is a great place for a top-notch meal and to celebrate any occasion worthy of the supreme meal. We highly recommend Bernardin's.

Fantastic! Just went there for our anniversary. Had a fabulous server named Josh and he was awesome! Very attentive without interrupting constantly like other places. The food was exquisite! We had the Filet Mignon and the Lobster Ravioli. The salad was delicious and we had 2 desserts; blueberry/ peach cobbler and the chocolate mousse cake. Yummers!!

Located in the Zevely House, the oldest house in Winston, Bernardins brings you a fine dining experience in a lovely location for you to enjoy with friends, date, or with family.

Their staff is very attentive, friendly, and helpful from the moment you walk in, we had a smile on our faces the entire time we were there. Our server was on point with the recommendations in terms of food and wine.

And the food was so delicious, very fresh, loved everything we order and the presentation was very nice. (My risotto was honestly the only thing I wasn’t happy about but it didn’t bother me that much because the rest of the food was delightful)

- Fried Calamari, Mustard Sauce/Thai Green Chili Sauce
- Crab Cakes, Black Bean/Com/Chorizo/ Cilantro
- Atlantic Salmon, Horseradish Crust/Spinach/ Sweet Roasted Garlic/Port Wine Sauce
- Sea Scallop, Leeks/Sun Dred Tomato /Asparagus/Mushroom/Risotto/Chipotle Plum Vinaigrette

This place was absolutely amazing! My partner and I celebrated our almost one year last night a d Jay was our waitress! She was very friendly and funny! She made the experience a great pleasure for the first time being there! Her service was excellent and she was very in tuned with us! I highly recommend this restaurant, but ask for Jay

Bernardino is a wonderful historic place for a special dinner out or a celebration with friends. The food is Amazing I have never left disappointed or hungry. 10/10.

I’ve been here twice, and it’s been incredible both times. The most recent time was for my birthday. I had the ribeye ans potato cake. The potato cake was so good. The steak was massive, so my brother ended up finishing mine. The sweet potato cheesecake was the best part of the meal. The rest of my family loved the chocolate mousse cake and cinnamon bread pudding. For special occasions, this is one of my favorites.

This place here so unexpected and that is what makes it so grand. Very clean home turned into a restaurant, the staff is upbeat and knowledgeable on the menu, our waitress made great recommendations. No just any menu with your regular fried chicken, noooo! The menu is just like the appearance...unexpected. I can't wait to return with a group and hopefully celebrate a birthday. Keep up the great service.

Tonight was our first time to Bernardin’s. This is one of the best places I have been to in Winston. We did the goat cheese tarte for our appetizer. It was interesting. It’s an unusual item which is why we got it. It wasn’t bad at all, but I wouldn’t get it again. My husband got the ribeye which he was amazing. I got the surf and turf ($55). It was incredible, but I couldn’t finish it all. There were so many tasty sounding things on the menu and all of them are so reasonably priced. I got the most expensive item on the menu. We had a reservation at 5:30 and were out by 6:30. We were not rushed. They just seem to be very efficient. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I dined here for a date night on a Thursday. Good night to go! Not overly busy, was able to snag reservations last minute. We had Josh as a waiter. He was phenomenal. Very kind, very knowledgeable about the dishes there. Very good food! We ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside. The Chinese sausage was a different spin with them. But still good. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the filet, and his was also cooked perfectly. My wine was as expected and my husbands jack and coke was stout! For dessert he ordered the cream brûlée and I had the bread pudding. Both were excellent!

What a very cool place! We sat outside and they have the nicest setup. The owner comes and talks to each table and helps reset the tables or cash guests out which is awesome. We had the best server, her name was Jay. She was sweet and attentive. I ordered the Kale Ceasar salad, the surf and turf Entrée and for dessert we had the strawberry 🍓 shortcake. The food was incredible! My steak was cooked perfectly and the potato cake with it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Next time we're trying the duck and the grouper

I would go back again for sure. It was exactly what I would expect. Great staff amazing food. I loved all of flavors. We had the escargot which was amazing. So many flavors with mushrooms and had to be fresh herbs. Kept us wanting more. The emu was fabulous. It’s a red meat which is very tender. It has a different flavor but still very good. There were also different textures with the food. Every bit was different full of flavor. There is outdoor seating. Will go back again. I love that I got to try an exotic food that tasted amazing. Can’t wait to try the kangaroo.

Elegant and luxurious atmospheres and food. We ordered todays special menu, shish kebab - this was the best of the best kebab ever I had. The service was prompt and careful. Definitely recommend this place for special occasions to make a happy memory with good people.

The food and service here was amazing. My friends and I really enjoyed our dinner. Jay and Becca were a great duo. Their recommendations were on point and they were both very attentive to our table. We definitely plan on coming back. Try to sit @ their tables. Can’t wait to come back.

My husband, our two sons (6 and 11), and I dined here tonight to celebrate getting through the first week of school. I have been to several restaurants claiming to be 4 or 5 star, but this is the first to live up to its claim. Everything from the wine selection, flavors of the cuisine, and presentation was exquisite. My family often tease me to be a harsh critic when dining out, but tonight I was truly impressed. Our server, Morgan, was impeccable. Thank you for a wonderful family dining experience.

Bernadin's is my new "find" for a gourmet dining experience without breaking the bank. Yes, you'll pay a few bucks for dinner here, but the value will exceed the cost. Assume about $100pp.

They have creative and hard to find selections from appetizers through entrees. The Foie Gras was excellent, and both the Filet and the duck were prepared absolutely perfectly. They had classic choices on the menu, including lamb chops and a lobster special. They even had unusual choices such as Emu. The sauces for each dish were excellent. Definitely try their Brussel Sprouts, which I ordered as an appetizer to be brought with the steak. And oh, by the way, their shoestring potatoes were great.

The ambiance is special. The building has an old-world charm that brought back memories of being in my grandfather's home. There is an outside area as well, but we loved the upstairs seating.

The one thing we wished they had but didn't was a cappuccino or espresso, and I would have liked to have seen more choices for single malts. They have a few wines that are good enough, but for a dinner of this level, I'm glad that I opted to bring a special bottle of wine. As long as it's not on their menu, the cork fee is $35.

This is a place that's worth repeating.
