A beautiful cemetery 🪦 directly in between Old Salem and downtown Winston Salem. The headstones are equally placed and flat to highlight equality under God. This is a peaceful place to reflect on history and the lives who helped build this city. The cemetery has ♿ handicap accessible parking nearby but the paths do lack some accessibility.

Such a beautifully kept cemetery full of history and still so unique as they still have separate sections for the men, women and children.

Peaceful area. All the headstones, nearly flat, represent equality in death from Gods point of view. Hopefully they were all equal under Gods eyes during their lives as well.

This is an interesting graveyard. It’s very pretty and right by all the cool old historical buildings in Old Salem. There is some information posted about the graveyard - the main thing being the explanation for all the headstones looking exactly the same. This is to represent that the dead are all equal. I feel like the Moravians must also have felt that all are equal while alive. I wish our modern society could incorporate more of that way of thinking.

We spent a little time here reading some of the names and dates on the tombstones.. it seems very peaceful there for being a graveyard.. we took a few pictures and I have shared a couple . Please look closely at one if the trees in the rooted area.. now I'm not trying to be spooky but I easliy picked up faces after I went back home and reviewed the photos.... I have included a closer up of the roots as well.. if you're in the area you should visit this place.. enjoy!!
