This place contributed to my success at Duke. Just two years living in the 11000 building and I got a Master's. Ask to live in the 11000 building.

The walking distance to campus can only be beat by a couple of places - it's very convenient.

Safety is monitored by an contracted security firm that keeps a tight watch over the access at night.

Following the online portal is the recommended method for requesting maintenance repairs. They typically fix problems within 24 hours or come to inspect within that time frame. Occasionally, they may not have a part in stock, but the crew is diligent about ordering required parts.

I've lived here for almost a year and would recommend the Belmont for people that need proximity to campus or the hospitals. I take the bus daily for work (there are two bus stops right outside the apartment complex), but you can also walk there.
John, the manager, has always been very friendly to me, and his door is always open to solve any problems you might have with the apartment. Regarding maintenance, I have requested it twice for minor issues. Both times, the team solved it swiftly and left a note telling me what they worked on, which I appreciate.
I haven't had problems with my neighbors, such as noise complaints or the like. The amenities are in good condition; only the Peloton bikes need more frequent maintenance (the knobs to adjust the seat height or the handlebars are rusted and get stuck). I especially like the private lake with the gazebo and the trail around it. When the sun is out, it's a great place to read a book and relax or use one of the grills with your friends.

I went to see this community and was able to take a tour and the way the staff greeted me when I initially walked in and that really set the tone! I’ve been to many places that the first impression was not good. The Belmont was very clean and I loved their amenities and the fact that they have security on their premises. For the price and what is offered I believe it’s a really good deal!

I've lived at the Belmont for the last 2 years as an MBA student at Duke. I just graduated and I'm about to move back home to Chicago.

I've had a wonderful experience at the Belmont, and made a lot of positive and powerful memories. I lived in a very spacious 1 bedroom apartment with my fiance and 2 dogs. Our kitchen had the dishwasher, garbage disposal, electric stove with vent fan, huge microwave, and huge refrigerator. I actually got into cooking in my free time since everything was at my fingertips. Huge water heater, washer and dryer, and central air conditioning and heat were included in the apartment. I loved walking around the lake with my dogs, never had trouble with parking. Since most residents seemed to be students who walk to school, most did not have a car. The parking lots are always half full half empty (idea: convert some empty parking lot space to a dog park!). Staff was incredibly responsive. I once left an email at 7pm that my air-conditioning stopped working and Jacob from maintenance showed up 25 minutes later, even though he was home after his shift ended to fix it. Incredible staff.

Amenities are all there, pool, gym, free coffee, office, free printing, free dog bags, etc..

In terms of crime, 2 criminals working together robbed students at about 4 different apartment complexes, including 2-4 Belmont residents last fall. All of these armed robberies occurred late at night. The earliest was about 8pm the latest was about 3am. This is the only crime I saw in the last 2 years. 2 jerks NOT from our community targeting our community. The Belmont installed cameras and hired a full security team to monitor our parking lots, completed in about 2 weeks after the second robbery. Security still sits in our parking lots every night, and have clear security labels on their cars. We haven't had any crime since then. Overall, the Belmont and the robbed victims did nothing wrong, but the Belmont responded swiftly to prevent the perpetrators from returning. I feel incredibly safe now, and walk my dogs in the middle of the night all the time (I graduated, I have time off now!) Security is always friendly to me at night.

Anyone with business at or around Duke (working at the hospital, students at Fuqua, the engineering school, environmental school, etc) should seriously consider these apartments. You can walk to Duke, and they are half the price of the apartments next door (Trinity, lofts, etc); they have everything. I'm incredibly saddened that I have to leave, and have nothing negative to say about the Belmont. Thanks for the last 2 years, I'll forever think of this apartment when I think about my time at Duke.

Living at the Belmont has been a fantastic experience. The apartments are cozy, comfortable and up to date, the maintenance staff keeps the grounds clean and are very responsive when there is an issue, even at inconvenient times. The staff in the leasing office are wonderful to work with and will always go the extra mile to see that their residents are happy. The gym and the pool are convenient and a great bonus. It's been a pleasure calling the Belmont home through my graduate years.

Very happy at my apt! Been here over 2 years. The staff has always been respectful, very friendly, and helpful. Any maintenance requests I've had have been addressed quickly. The Belmont also hosts fun events for residents. Love the pool and the complex is beautifully landscaped. It's usually quiet too, so it's good for grad students.

I lived here for the last few years and loved the experience. There were a few robberies that happened in ALL of the apartment complexes around us- NOT JUST THE BELMONT. When the robberies occurred, Belmont acted swiftly to make it's residents safe. They hired security guards, put up more cameras, increased lighting, and installed steel door frames into all of the apartments. Honestly, Belmont went above and beyond to help it's residents after this horrible mess that happened around ALL of the apartment complexes.

In terms of the apartments themselves. I loved mine! It was a perfect one bedroom that felt homey and had amazing space for a great price. Each apartment has a washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and a stove/oven. You even get a patio with an outside storage closet! Then on top of that they have great public amenities. There's a beautiful large pond area to either go on walks, jogs, or just to take your dog out on. They also have a pretty good gym, pool, study lounges, and free printing in the main office. The best part is that it's very pet friendly and close to restaurants and Duke.

I would recommend Belmont to anyone moving to Durham!

Great experience with the Belmont and it's staff. Everyone is very kind and helpful. The apartments are very clean and up to date and the complex provides all the amenities that you could need.

I had to get out of my lease unexpectedly and the staff was incredibly flexible and understanding. They helped find the best option for my roommate and I to avoid the normally high costs of terminating a lease early. In all, they made the usually difficult process as painless as possible. I appreciate their help and I plan to go back to the Belmont when I move back to the area.

Google review should be a place where people provide objective and complete evaluation on a leasing office’s performance in all situations, especially an expected one, instead of throwing a tantrum. That’s a therapist’s job. It’s true that there are a series of unfortunate events that happened recently, but the Belmont has been very responsive. They hired a new security company immediately and made changes on the very same day they found a flaw in previous patrolling style. They are installing more lights in the neighborhood, steel plate on EVERY apartment door, and a plate reader at the front gate. They are open to any suggestion and will take more necessary actions to prevent future crimes. It’s not the occurrence of unfortunate events that stops you from moving into an apartment but the actions the leasing office take after these events. Belmont has been doing GREAT so far! Therefore, I think it’s HIGHLY UNFAIR and IRRESPONSIBLE to PURPOSEFULLY RUIN Belmont’s reputation before Belmont has enough time to take actions. Belmont is a safe place to live comparing to a lot of neighborhoods nearby. Additionally, the rent is reasonable given the market demand, location, and the environment. To those who complain about high rent and “old” appliances (1500 dollar for a 2 bedroom apartment near Duke), you’re totally welcome to live in those apt complexes where you pay 1500 dollars a month for a studio with fancy-looking appliances that do the same job.

Absolutely love the Belmont - the staff are super friendly, helpful, and professional, the apartment is homey and maintenance easy to access, the pond and fountain well kept and beautiful (a boost to my mental health every day to look out the window). The gym is small but has all the equipment needed for a good workout, with a racquetball court to boot. The study room is nice, too, as well as the new package system (so we don't have to come in during business hours for pickup anymore). Keep it up, Belmont!

We lived here for a year, and we loved it. The place is beautiful, the team is super kind and responsive, and the community was great. Totally recommend living by the lake, the view was very nice. Also, the place is really close to Duke campus, so really convenient if you are studying or working there. There is a Harris Teeter and a Walsgreen 5 blocks away, so you are also well connected in that sense.

The Belmont is a great place to live. The complex is clean, the apartments are fully equipped, and the environment is overall quiet. The majority of the renters are PhD, Masters, and Medical students.

During my stay, I was particularly impressed with the resident staff, namely, Anna, Lindsay, and Hiba. They are incredibly friendly and work hard to facilitate a sense of community.

I would recommend this property to anyone looking to be close to campus. I have lived at the Belmont for several years. Recently property ownership has changed hands. The new owers/ management team have been making changes and improvements. The management team is friendly and responsive to the needs of the residents. One area that I have been glad to see improvement in is the lighting on the property. Before, the parking lots and areas around the buildings were extremely dark and I observed multiple buidling and parking lot lights which were not functioning. Since the new owner/ management team has been in place, I can see that the lighting conditions have improved. The parking lot and areas around the buildings appear better lit and brighter in areas which before were dark and a little forbidding. I also don't see as many non-functioning lights as before.

Probably the worthiest thing I pay for renting in the Belmont is the leasing office, where they provide studying rooms 24/7, free coffee and printers. Many people including me don't feel like as effective at home, so we need to stick to the library. The Belmont provides a nearby convenient version of a library where I found myself staying there 90% of my studying time, where I feel the most effective studying but still able to quickly going home and grab some food. Although recently they made me feel insulted saying they would “evict” me due to late payment, it turned out a misunderstanding, and provided that the management staffs are fairly young I would be able to understand. They have been effective and kind so far. In sum, I am here to study so the studying area is a big plus, the room is ok, the apartment is quite and safe so far.

Luxury apartments with a lot of free facilities! It was really home for me. Staffs and residents are like family! Amazing place to live and study, as well as build networking with professionals at their Business Center. Already missed Belmont!!! I could not find more than five stars to rate :) Hope I will be able to see new Business Center and other facilities when I am back to Durham!

One of the safest communities close to the Duke Campus. It’s gated and has a clubhouse with a lot of amenities. The staff is helpful and super responsive for all maintenance requests. Would definitely recommend!!

I have really enjoyed living here. The staff are excellent, maintenance is FAST, and amenities are clean. Most people living here are young professionals and graduate students; all of the tenants are very friendly and I have never had any noise issues.

I went to visit one of the residents at the Belmont apartments and I must say that I was very pleased with the staff. My friend went to pay her rent and the office manager was very helpful and pleasant, and she made the experience seamless. The grounds are very well kept and the apartments are very spacious. If I could I will definitely live here.
