My family has been coming here for 20 years (according to my dad). the place is not the fanciest but the food is just so damn good. your experience here depends on what you like and if you're good at combining flavors of foods. you pick what you want and they cook it for you according to ur preference. so if you think it taste bad, you probably don't know how to cook.

my go-to combination is: pineapple (sweetness), lots of cabbage (texture), onion (sweet crunch), mushroom (soft crunch), pork (protein), potato and zucchini. occasionally i like to add other things.

my go to flavor choice is combination curry 7

It was my first time at Bali Hai Mongolian Grill. It took me a moment to understand how to order my food but the staff was really helpful and walked me through the process. The food is delicious and if you know how to stack the bowl properly you get a lot of food as well. I'll be definitively coming back.

Make your own stir fry! It's a fun challenge to see how much you can fit into one bowl. Tips: use a tray to catch food that falls, line the edge of bowl with meat to give you higher sides, push food down as you load it in. Definitely coming back for more. Can't beat $8 for lunch.

Nice place with good and affordable food. Recommended for a quick eat. Price by pound now, 7-10 dollars per order would give you a stomach full.

We went there for lunch. I got two bowls. It was a bunch of food, it was really fresh and reasonably priced. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great.

Been coming here a long time food is always good fairly quick and a good price! But last night my wife and I came in, and a party of 15+ was in front of us I will still give my 5 stars because the food was a good quality as always! But I believe there's room for improvements, unfortunately some of the bar items ran out after 15 people at once crowded the bar. Also other items such as rice were low and we couldn't get. Not a huge deal for us, we'll switch it up. No one is at fault here, you just weren't prepared to serve a large party plus normal customers. The staff did wonderful handling everyone and everything, just could have been a little quicker. Still a good quality food we got to enjoy last night!

The food is delicious & nutritious, with a wide range of vegetables, 3 kinds of meat, and cooked with your choice of savory sauces! (My sauce preference is D3.) It's speedy, too. My wife & I and a friend ate at the restaurant, but the food was served in a take out container.

This is as good as it's gonna get. High quality food that is good anytime. You only pay what you want to pay. It's by the amount you want to put on your plate. No other restaurants around will give you both of those things at the same time. Other Asian takeout tell you how much you are getting, and how much you are paying. The choice is obvious. Get bali high, or just make food at home. You will be disappointed otherwise.

Always a good experience here. One chef and one host or hostess. What more do you need. Proteins are turkey pork and beef. And lots of options for veggies. I usually do two bowls. One for meat. And another for veggies. They charge by weight not number of bowls. And alot of drink choices too. Come here for the food stay for the same thing.

This was my first visit Bali Hai, and I will be back. The food was very filling and fresh. The customer service was great as well. The lady who took our order was very helpful and explained how to place our order and use the bar.

We used to go to the one in Raleigh, but unfortunately it burned down. The wife and I enjoy it enough that every so often we will make a trip to the one in Durham (from North Raleigh). Pile your bowls high with the food that you like and be sure to choose a sauce that is an appropriate level of spiciness. Always a good meal and always super filling, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere top it all off for a great experience.

I have not had the pleasure of having their food “yet”. However, I came in the other day as a delivery driver. OMG the exceptional service that was given to me as a delivery makes me want to take the drive to Durham. Exceptional is an understatement. I literally felt as if I was invited to his home. Great food for great prices. Their stir fry is awesome. If you’re a big eater I recommend two bowls and stacking as high as you can. I personally just get one bowl of ingredients plus the add on of noodles.

Great food for really cheap. You can stack a lot of food in your bowls, or get two of them and make a bridge! I've seen people being pretty creative about it. The spiciness level is a little inconsistent - they use a 0-10 numeric system which honestly is awful for accuracy -, but you can still have a good idea on how spicy you want your food to be, or always go with a 5-7 to be safe. It's only a 10 minutes walk from Duke East Campus so it's great for freshmen! I've personally been there many times.

Love this place. Great spot for fast casual. Their ingredients bar allows you to customize your meal to your heart’s content. I recommend the combination sauce, spice level 7. Kick it up to 8 if you want a little heat.

This is my favorite place. They're food is amazing and their staff is friendly. I have gone to crazy fire and yes they do have more options of what you can put in the bowl BUT the sauce is not as good as Bali Hai which is what makes the food taste good in the first place. If you haven't gone here you gotta go and try the combination sauce!!
