My family attended SBC 1959-1961. I was a new electrical engineer for Western Electric on Lexington Rd. It was a true Bible environment with Dr. Charles Stevens as Paator. My wife Virginia and son Russell were very much involved in the kindergarten school. I was a leader in the young adult SS. Sounds like SBC IS still very much alive 65 years later. Thoroughly enjoyed it all with Thurlow Spurr (Spurlows) as Music pastor.

This is a loving and truly biblical Baptist church. I can’t stress enough how happy being a part of this church has made me. We have a very loving and capable pastor that leads and feeds his flock very well. Prior to finding this church my family and I searched intensely for a church we could call home, but was unsuccessful for many years until we attended Salem Baptist, it was amazing how caring and lovable we found the members there. We fell in love instantly, I was so grateful that my search was over, I felt totally relieved to know that this was where the Lord wanted me. I invite anyone who is looking for a church that preaches and teaches the Bible and most importantly practices Christian love to try this place of worship, I think you’ll be glad you did!

I am a member of this church and recommend it to anyone seeking a place of Christian worship. The staff is great, the congregation friendly and supportive.

Currently, we have a 10:00 Sunday service as well as activities for the kids on Wednesday nights and nursery on Sundays. There are also Men's Bible Study and Women's Bible Study twice a month.

The service is a musically blended service, with both classic hymns and more contemporary songs. Our pastor, Kivett Hicks is a young man who preaches straight from the scriptures and is a man after God's own heart.

Beautiful facility. They hosted a funeral for a family members stillborn baby. Everyone was so kind during our time of sorrow.
