The Durham Filling Station

Absolutely LOVED the Junkyard Dog! Just the perfect pile of garbage pilled on top of a great spicy dog. Service was solid and the outdoor shaded seating area was nice. These are the kind of spots that there certainly aren't enough of anymore.

The Filling Station is so special. You are simply not going to find a better biscuit anywhere and the people working there couldn't be sweeter.

Not five stars in sense of being some fancy, high end type place, but it has great food made fresh to order at a reasonable price made to order. It is like a continuation of the old Wimpys with some improvements like seating added outside. Counter order. Wait for food. Hole in the wall type place but great burgers and dogs made to order. Love the addition on curly fries. Very friendly service. They even take credit card now.

One of my favorite hidden gems in Durham! This place has amazing food and is so affordable. I love that they now have Sat hours. Def check it out! The food pictures is a veggie burger with farmers cheese fuelled onions and pickles, curly fries, and peanut butter pie.

Farmer's burger with Bacon Fig jam!!!! Insanity! Best curly fries ever. Egg and cheese big enough for two meals.

I ordered a ham n' egg biscuit. The biscuit was fluffy,delicious and golden. The ham and egg were cooked just right. Great place for breakfast. Can't wait to try burgers.

We grabbed a BLT and a spicy dog earlier this week - delicious!! We'll be going back to try more sammies soon. We also picked up a special sweet potato pie and a Reeses pie for Thanksgiving. Both were so good; our housemates couldn't agree on which we liked best!

Unassuming joint, but do go in! There is no interior seating, but a shaded area is to the left of the building with picnic tables. No bathrooms.

I got the Junkyard Burger, which is their term for a bacon double cheeseburger. You can customize your toppings, of course. This is a huge, juicy burger and very filling. Excellent for my taste. We both sampled the onion rings and curly fries, and both are good. Partial to the fries, however. One order of either is large enough for two.

Small amount of parking, so expect to fight this at peak times.

Fantastic food, but what’s even more refreshing is the people. Alex sat and spoke with us and made us feel like family. Do yourself a favor and TRY THIS PLACE!!!!! Support local. You won’t be disappointed

Hailing all the way from Washington, DC, I give The Durham Filling Station 5 Stars! It's been 2 years since I've been here because my mother was formerly hospitalized at Duke. I stumbled upon this place, so I stopped in for a bite to eat. I'm glad I did. It is a diamond in the cut! I wrote a review on my Facebook page, however, I neglected to write a review here on Google until today. I even did a little hashtag with my FB review which was, "Durham Filling Station. #GetYouSome" These guys get your order, get the food cooked fast & fresh, & it is made your way. So, BK move over.

That Brisket Mac was everything. That Junkyard Burger was Top-Freaking-Notch. The fries were crispy & hot out of the grease. The bonus! I got to leave my business card on the board. That was awesome! Be sure to contact High Alert Emergency Preparedness when you're ready for my services!

We stopped in after our university tour and glad we did. The service was very friendly. The lady who took our order as well as the cook, who walked out with a friendly greeting as we were finishing and giving us each some cake. The brownie was very tasty and the coffee cake was delish! The burgers were great and so were the curly fries and onion rings. I highly recommend!

Great! I had been meaning to try this place. I got the Reese's Pieces peanut butter pie, and I got a bacon egg and cheese biscuit with hash browns. My husband got a burger and fries and I snuck some fries as well. The pie was so, so good. That was gone before we even got home. I also loved the biscuit...nice and soft and fluffy and delicious, with the fillings just what I was hoping for. The hash browns were nice and crispy. The fries were great, especially with the sauce they included. We will definitely go back!

Everything on the menu is worth your time. If you want a hot dog all the way (mustard, chili, slaw) this is way better than the Dog House now. Biggest biscuits (cat head sized) in Durham! Hot and Fresh ! Go follow them on FB too for their specials. There is something for everyone here. No pics because I’ve already ate my food. 😎👍

One of the best burger places you can find in Durham. It is a no frills, down and dirty burger place and that is just what Durham needs. I have been twice now both times the burger was exactly what I have been looking for. This is not a fast food cheap party that tastes like nothing, the meat was good size and not dry at all. I will say you should ask for extra fry sauce you will not be disappointed.

Excellent service. Great food. Fast. The burger was perfect. Cooked through. Bacon was crispy. Lettuce tomatoes pickles. The chipotle Mayo on the side was incredible and made the burger even better. Soft but not mushy buns. Really the perfect burger in every way. I can’t believe I’ve been in durham this long and have not been here yet. Curly fries were an added treat.

I am not one to write a review. Part of me wants to keep the secret gems to myself! Durham Filling Station is too good not to share though. Popped in on a whim for lunch today - farmers burger and curly fries. WOW what an amazing find! Super friendly and flavor explosion. Glad I happened upon you guys, I'll certainly be making frequent stops in the future!

First time eating here, and i had the single cheeseburger with bacon, ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato....DELICIOUS! Also, i couldn't not try the hot dog all the way....DELICIOUS as well! Super nice folks and great food!

Awesome Burger and great service. The people were nice and the food came out fast and fresh. I was surprised and happy to see that they have vegan options including vegan cheese! I got a burger with vegan cheese and curly fries and it was excellent. I'll definitely be going back to try their breakfast and desserts.

The Junkyard Burger was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Onion rings and curly fries are also really good. This place is always worth the little extra drive for the quality of the food.
