UNC Orthopaedics at Panther Creek

There was a long wait at the UNC ortho urgent care on 54 and I-40 and it was late Friday afternoon after I picked up my daughter from school following a freak wrist injury in PE. The receptionist at the busier location called over to the Panther Creek location ahead of us to alert them of our pending arrival. It was very close to 5pm but the staff quickly got us back, got an XRay and confirmed a wrist fracture. They grabbed us a splint and had us scheduled for follow up in no time. The staff was also quite understanding when my daughter who is very athletic was a little tearful that she would be restricted from several activities. We will definitely head over there for our urgent care ortho needs, it is an underutilized gem. Thanks to all the great staff.

Very efficient process from check in, x-rays, to seeing the doctor. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Jadia was a joy. She was friendly, happy and quick. Dr Amanda listened and was thorough and knowledgeable. A very good experience.

Annie was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me get an appointment scheduled for my daughter. Our situation was a little different and I appreciate her kindness and efforts.

The receptionists were very friendly and helpful but that's the only good thing about my experience. I wish I could give it zero stars. I work in a warehouse and injured my knee to the point it hurts to bend, kneel, and walk on. I wore braces to make it easier but it didn't help. On top of that, I was pregnant. Went to this clinic when I was 5 months pregnant expressing how much pain I was in. Doctor April Wikstrom told me it'll only get worse the further I get in pregnancy and suggested physical therapy for a shin splint. She refused to write me out of work despite the level of pain I was in. Went to get a second opinion elsewhere and not only did I get written out of work but the other doctor said she was wrong for trying to make a 5 month pregnant woman work with a shin splint knowing the kind of work I did. This was back in March. Fast forward to now (October), my knee has healed without the help of physical therapy. I had my baby and is back at my warehouse job working like it never happened. Thanks for nothing Dr.Wikstrom!
