Hilton Orrington/Evanston

I like this place. Stayed here several times. The Hilton at Orrington/Evanston is NOT the typical “jello mold” Hilton that you can find everywhere. This Hilton is an older historical building with interesting rooms that are all different shapes but very comfortable. I like the quirky nature of the room shapes. The location is excellent, right in the middle of a huge variety of restaurants and shops. Remember that this is a down town city hotel, so there is no on-site parking but there are several great parking garages with very reasonable rates close nearby. The Valet parking is excellent if you want to use this service. The on site restaurant is superb; very reasonable prices with exceptional quality food and service. I recommend the skirt steak salad - the best I’ve ever eaten with a wonderful deep sear.

Other than the construction noise and the blinds in the room not being able to close all the way to block the light, the room was a bit old but it was really great, very clean, huge walk in closet, it was very nice. I did see a small bug once while I was in the bathroom in my room but forgot to report it. I did valet but no one told me the next morning that I could not get my car out before 7am without telling the valet the night before, had a difficult time getting it out that morning with the front desk staff but they were very nice. Was disappointed how late breakfast started.

Lovely place for lunch. The waitress was outstanding. Very relaxing, beautiful atmosphere. The food was yummy. Plenty of choices both indulging and healthy. Wonderful coffee. This is a must when visiting or staying in Chicago.

i recently hosted 175 people for my wifes surprise 50th birthday party at a venue in downtown evanston and got a block of rooms at the Orrington for the out of town guests. From the day i first approached the hotel to reserve the block of rooms, all the way thru the weekend of the event, they were professional, helpful, and easy to work with. The newly updated facility and rooms were outstanding and reasonably priced. I was very pleased with having The Orrington Hotel serve as 'home base' for my event!! Thank you Seta and Xiomara !!

Late night doorstep was amazing they not only checked us in partly but valet make sure us girls got out of the car saved and got rid of the crazy car following us to the hotel. We highly appreciate the security and the awareness of staff to make sure we got up to our room safely five stars all the way.

I cannot love this hotel and their staff more! Vanessa and Billy went above and beyond. We stayed here while moving my daughter into her dorm at Loyola. We had lots of bags between us and even shipped boxes to the hotel. I am so grateful for the friendly faces, comfortable beds, and great shower!

In addition, the area around the hotel is fantastic. Close to the purple L and bus stops. Many great restaurants steps away.

I would absolutely come back and stay again.

First let me say that the staff...Can I say 👏🏾amazing! When I got there, I was early. The front staff. desk was so helpful with ideas to help me pass the time away. Plus, the lobby is quite comfortable as well. Valet staff was so kind and helpful with checking my bags until I returned. But the highlight of my stay was Ms. Sofia. This lady...OMG her hospitality, kindness, and just her energy ✨ 💕 . She deserves 5 stars 🌟 all by herself. My friends and I were in town just for a little getaway, and the way she was with us, we saw her be that way with each and every person she encountered. She is a true professional. Please tell Ms. Sofia that the ladies from St. Louis, who she at 1st, thought we were younger, said we just loved her energy and truly enjoyed meeting her. She makes Hilton look beautiful. You all are winning with her on your team.

Walls are too thin. We could hear literally EVERY intimate thing going on in the next room.. and on the other side they had a dog who would bark at the most inopportune times. But the room overall itself was clean, and comfortable and they kept it well stocked with toiletries, towels, etc. the bed was very comfortable. and everything worked in our room. Nice view outside.
I left my pillow:( but they found it and currently are in process of getting my pillow back:) I appreciate them working with me on this!

Stay was great. The elevator was down for one day and there is only valet parking (from what I could tell), but nothing too crazy. Billy was super helpful, and made my stay awesome. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Service was fabulous, all hotel staff were pleasant to talk to, they were always happy to help. Valet staff were prompt and always had our car ready, even on a short notice. Only issue I had was the state of the room’s carpet. There were several stains scattered throughout. It looked like attempts were made to clean it, but the stains were still visible. Overall I enjoyed my stay in this elegant and historic Hilton property and I hope visit again soon.

Miss. Sophia was a gem, very helpful an accommodating. She helped me find closer parking after the second shift had me 5 blocks away, she got me 2. An had a lovely conversation with me. Made me feel at home. I know if I stay again it’s because of her.
Ps. I think she needs more money for her services lol.

Stayed here 3 days. The reception was warm, the room was good. Everything was good except that the kitchen was functioning sọ we had to eat out. Would have loved breakfast before going out.

Splendid hotel in downtown Evanston. Facilities are comfortable with excellent room. Comfy bed with great pillows. The bathroom had all the amenities. While there is no restaurant in hotel proper, there are many spots nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Staff is very helpful, cheery, and clearly animated. Northwestern is not too far, public library across the street too. Purple line subway station is also close in case you want to visit Chicago.

Awesome hotel, pretty decent prices for how nice the rooms and service are, and fantastic location too.

Was an amazing stay everyone was so kind and helpful and the rooms were clean. Special shout out to Billy! You are the best.

Not only did I like the location, but services were exceptionally amazing. Right after I checked ✔ in, I was followed up by a tex message on how I feel about the room. Workers there especially Victoria has been doing amazing guest services job. I recommend this hotel and I won't hesitate booking this hotel again in the future...

The hotel was decent, and my room had an amazing view which I really enjoyed during my stay. People were welcoming and this hotel felt like home. Many local restaurants to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Train station is just couple of blocks. Overall experience was really good.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 of the 4 times I was in Evanston for my graduate program at Northwestern. The rooms themselves are standard and amenable for their purpose. But what really stands out is the staff. They are truly wonderful. Sophia, who works the first desk, gave me a pep talk throughout my stays. I was so excited to see her late last week where she congratulated all of us for finishing our program. She's a true gem and I was on a high from her talks for days. Then there's Paul who came to my room the DAY I made a service request and fixed the loose tiles in my bathroom exceptionally well. Such a lovely man. The people who work there really make the stay worth it.

I love everything about this hotel! The service was good. people at the front desk helped and was so kind! The bed was so comfortable and everything was clean.

I had to find a place at 1:30AM to use the bathroom. When I approached the counter the African American woman behind the corner saw me and respectfully raised her mask as I approached her. She was extremely friendly and allowed me to use their bathroom. I was surprised she was so nice especially since I was not a customer. I don't think I have been treated so nice by someone at a counter before. Also the bathroom was very large and ornately decorated and clean... Definitely impressed with the service! I would consider this hotel in the future.
