A&A Lot (Propark)

Ruined night in Hartford thanks to these guys. We are older - - 66 and 75 years old- - not from Hartford, and we don't go out all that much. We decided to take advantage of a candlelight Vivaldi concert at the Bond Ballroom. Tickets in hand, we saw this parking lot adjacent to the Bond that looked like a daytime only parking lot to us (this was also confirmed by the concert staff inside once we got in). The kiosk was dark and there was a sign placed flat against the door of the kiosk, instead of facing you driving in like you would normally expect. Yes, our bad, we are old and used to parking attendants to take your money and we did not read the sign carefully. There did not seem to be an evident way to pay , like a machine or something.
So imagine our delight when, at 10:00 that night, we come out to find our car being strapped onto a tow truck. Our only recourse was to pay the guy $133 CASH ONLY, on the spot. Who walks around Hartford, or anywhere for that matter, with that kind of cash on them? Completely excessively and unnecessarily punitive.
So, panicking, we asked the tow truck driver, a complete jerk by the way, where we might find an ATM and he said he had "no idea", that we could try the train station (wherever that is). Thank God I still had Uber--which conveniently takes credit cards, unlike our friends from the towing company--from a business trip about 10 years ago!
Companies with attitudes like this are the reason Hartford is dying, and I say good riddance. If this isn't predatory towing I don't know what is. Good job abandoning two elderly people late at night on the streets of Hartford, Propark (along with your partners in crime, CT Auto Towing)! My god, if I or my partner had been there with a walker, would they have abandoned us all the same? We won't be back. RIP Hartford.

Don't bother parking here. Unmarked fire lanes get your vehicle towed. $207 because of a line that's hardly visible in the daylight, let alone at 10pm.
