There was only one guy behind the counter tonight and it was super busy....I'm not sure how he did it, but it was nonstop moments of customers pouring in and holding up the line. But he managed to get through it all with a smile on his face. We ordered the blue moon and chocolate separately. Both items are fantastic and our portion was fairly large. The ice cream here is homemade and you can tell they cared about their products. A lot of flavors were sold out, but we hope to return again!

We were on vacation in Boothbay Harbor and decided to have an evening dessert. I had the blueberry cheesecake and my husband had the black cherry, both were hard packed ice cream. They were delicious!!! Service was fantastic and quick.

As a coffee ice cream connoisseur, I can say that this coffee is very, very good! Just so you know, 3 scoops can feed 2-3 people. Clean, cute, quaint place. The bathroom is also clean. Sweet staff.

Do not let the long line scar you away. The staff moves quickly and efficiently and the ice cream is certainly worth the wait. Too many flavors to even begin to mention. This is a vacation tradition each year when traveling to Boothbay Harbor. Love it!

Excellent homemade ice cream flavors, sundaes and deserts. 44 years in business as of 2022. Soft serve available as well. Save some room after hitting up the neighboring Taffy or/and fudge shops.

Top notch homemade ice cream. Fresh and creamy and large portions. Ordered 2 scoops and oh my god it felt like 10 scoops. Great service and ice cream.

Visited today, grabbed some delicious treats after a boat ride up to Boothbay. Sea salt dark chocolate with andes mints! Omg!! Quick service and so friendly. Big jug of cold water at the end of the counter. Good sizes.

I visited recently and the girl at the register, she was a tall girl with blonde hair in a braid, she was very kind and very helpful and made our experience a good experience! Will definitely be back sometime in the future!

Fast paced and courteous this ice cream parlor is just right! The large selection of ice cream is fantastic, this parlor also has some dairy free options! Hits the spot!

So good! The ice cream and as delicious and the staff very friendly. We also got our dog a puppy bowl of vanilla soft serve complete with a dog bone.

The variety of flavors at this ice cream place was probably one of the best selections we've encountered. In addition, the portions were huge- a one scoop translated into 4 scoops of ice cream. The prices were super reasonable for a tourist destination- we paid under $30 for 4 different ice creams. Notable flavors were the chocolate orange ice cream- people who love Terry's in the holiday season will love this one and the salted caramel with toffee bits- this one is super delicious but a bit on the heavy side.

Definitely would recommend coming here but steer clear of the bathroom it was gross to say the least.

I have never missed a season in Boothbay without visiting Downeast Ice Cream Factory! Their homemade ice cream may be the best I have ever tasted. The owners are amazing people and they hire the friendliest staff on earth. Do not miss this place if you visit Boothbay Harbor!!!

I came here as a tourist from Europe. I just want to say this. I have visited about 46 countries. Definitely this place is number one in the world 1⃣ . You should definitely stop by here. How do you make such good ice cream? you should definitely come here and try the desserts and ice creams 🍦🍦🤤🤤🤤

This was a spur of the moment stop at the end of the evening and I'm so glad that it was. The ice cream was phenomenal; possibly the best I've ever had. The portion was... gargantuan. One scoop is NOT one scoop! And finally, the staff was incredibly friendly. We're fully planning on stopping in again tomorrow. Highly recommended.

Excellent ice cream had the M&M, however the selection of flavors was ample. Special shout out to Marisa who an excellent job scooping. Her customer service was impeccable. Ozzy was my cashier he made the transaction as painless as possible. Next time I am in Boothbay I will be stopping by again. It was absolutely delicious!

So creamy and flavorful!! So glad we chose this place. A little expensive but worth it!!
